I can't believe I missed Mad yesterday! So pleased to have you back Mad and glad to hear you're ok and the op was a success. We have all so missed you.

Hi all Got up earlier than usual so am a bit ahead of myself this morning. busy day yesterday and I went to yoga last night - yay - although both DD and DS screamed and made a real fuss about it. DH said DD cried for 15 minutes about wanting Mummy to read a story etc (thanks for telling me that, DH!) Ever since her finger accident she is very clingy and the knock on is that DS is clingy too as he sees the attention she is getting etc. She has gone off this morning to Grandma's house so I can go into nursery with DS for 'Parent's Craft' morning - and she wasn't happy about it!

Haven't sorted DS's dress up for tomorrow yet - may have to hit the shops later.

Will hopefully see you all later, loads to do

EHM · 05/03/2009 08:29

winnie09 · 05/03/2009 09:16

I am glad you ar home and well TMH

I feel rather just popping in now and again. I want to be able to keep up with you and your lives but it doesn't seem to be happening.

I am keeping up with chores & routines although it isn't easy whilst working five days a week so I am adapting things but my house & life is much more organised and walking into my house no longer makes me feel depressed

Must fly before boss catches me

Jas · 05/03/2009 09:19

Winnie - I don't wrk, so havfe no real excuse and am also an irregular poster atm. The great thing about the FLY thread is you will always be made welcm wether you post twenty times a day or once a month!

Toddler group this am. Ds is walking and my friends ds in the buggy. Wish me luck!

winnie09 · 05/03/2009 09:22

Thanks Jas

Meant to add 'have a good day everyone'

EHM · 05/03/2009 09:38

winnie09 i agree with jas I struggle too to post & I don't work Everybody is welcome regardless of how little or much they post. Thats one of the best things about this thread

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 05/03/2009 10:43

Winnie Dont worry about the regular posting - the ladies are great and will welcome anyone

I had a decent nights sleepish - although too much fluid in my drains to have them removed DH has been and collected some more meds for me, as I am sore, but really glad to be home.

I am so proud if him and of the boys, the house is in great shape, washing is up to date and all that needs doing is the ironing

EHM So glad that you have cracked the toilet training

I will be popping back in all day - nothing else I can do, but my attention span isnt up to much

qumps · 05/03/2009 11:07

hello all
tmh i am new but wanted to add my well wishes. one of the things that attracted me back to the thread was how lovely it was to see everyone thinking of you. i hope you are doing ok. sounds like you have a fab family to welcome you home.
i'm at the gym - eating cake, drinking tea and mning! had such a bad morning i cried on my mil doorstep. she has taken ds2 and i am supposed to be swimming but can't face it. ds2 up at 11/2/5 for the day. he cries for milk but then doesn't really need it so throws up. today it was all over my bed. ds1 started a tantrum at 750 as wasn't allowed to watch thomas before breakfast and didn't stop until i left him at nursery at 10. i called from the car park and they said he was fine. somehow made me feel worse and rather embarrassingly burst into tears on mil. dh away for a week so think lack of sleep and 1st period is sending me over the edge.
sorry feels better to have vented.
done nothing today so far.

need to
change spare bed (dh friend staying tonight)
buy nappies
sterilise (argh!)
put away clean washing
put wash on
empty dishwasher
change my bed (nearly forgot about baby vomit)
change cot sheets x2
tidy ds1 rooms after tantrum throwing destruction

and finally get off computer and go for a swim!

swanriver · 05/03/2009 11:46

Qumps, don't worry, sounds as if you have done plenty dealing with all that. Tantrums over Thomas, very familiar in this house with that one, now ds2 has moved onto Chuggington obsession, which just happens to clash with ds1 obsession, Bookaboo.
You are brilliant to get out for a swim.

Dh is here this morning, being cosy and doing his paperwork.
I've just come back from work (scarey adults dressed as fairytale characters) luckily librarian didn't need me so going in tmorrw to tidy up instead..had enough world book day in my own home thankyou. serious battles over lack of brass buttons on Duffy's jacket, and jacket wrong blue. Ds1 and dd were fine tho.

Dh sounds as if he's doing a great job TMH. Take lots of painkillers. I remember my mum used to save them up for the night after her knee replacement which was a terrible mistake because you are meant to have regular doses throughout day for it to work. Please disregard if I'm talking out of my hat.

swanriver · 05/03/2009 11:53

TMH, attention span not essential for this thread!

HerbWoman · 05/03/2009 12:14

Morning all. Glad to see you are back, TMH and getting plenty of rest.

Qumps Hi, I'm fairly new too, and everyone has been very welcoming. Sorry you've had a bad morning, and hope you managed your swim in the end. It can help to let it all out though.

Swan Have just read what you said on Tuesday about efficient fliers generally posting twice a day. This must be where I'm going wrong (I don't post so much, but spend a lot of time reading) .

Haven't been doing very well this week, it's all been getting to me. I could do with some yoga myself, but I always end up clock-watching before the end of a term whenever I have started going to a class. Rather defeats the point of going.

Did get out into the garden at the weekend, but it's gone cold again (always a good excuse).

Right, I'm going to write out some routines and I'm going to do it now. No procrastinating.

BBL

swanriver · 05/03/2009 12:35

EHM, hope cats are not going to be jettisoned
Nighties replace falling down pyjamas which made me even more badtempered first thing.

EustaciaVye · 05/03/2009 12:36

Morning all

welcome new people.

Bizarrely DD2 slept for 2 hours after school run so have managed to clean 2 bathrooms, downstairs loo, quick tidy of kitchen and main bedroom. AND had time to mooch on MN and check emails. Yay.

DD2 is now up and we have had a lovely time doing jigsaws (I had no idea she could do them so well ) and making and eating lunch together. Now I feel guilty as all too often I shove the TV on to get on with jobs around the hosue (double)

galen · 05/03/2009 12:52

Afternoon all.
mad glad you had a reasonable night. Well done to MrMad and the wonderful MiniMads for doing so well in your absence. I have less attention span than a goldfish at the moment (almost left DD4 at school the other morning )and dont even have the excuse of major surgery so I shouldnt worry!
Qumps gosh just read how old you DC are. Your littlie is sooo little, and a baby and toddler is such hard work. You are doing amazingly. And your DH is away - you have so much to cope with just now - be gentle on yourself. Get through the day as best you can. the housework will always wait. And this thread is great for a rant anytime.Take it easy - hope youre feeling better soon.
herbwoman good to see you.I find gardening always cheers me up . I do have to sometimes "force" myself to get out and do it though, but usually feel better after. (as long as I stop myself getting down or overwhelmed by the total disaster of a garden LOL)
wendy well odne for getting to yoga. Hope DC clingy phase passes soon
EHM well dom=ne on toilet training. Enjoy soft play
jas winnie Hi!
swan well done with costumes, I'm also intrigued by "nighties to supervise breakfast " LOL

Had a good morning of sorts here.
Not much FLYing but have been to music toddlers.
Now home - lunch done and tidied
Dinner made (chick and brocolli bake)
Washing rotated - more to do now.
Quick tidy done

To Do:
Rumage in loft for YELLOW clothes for fairtrade Banana Day - MUST DO NEXT!!
Gardening ( sadly clouding over now though - wish I'd done it earlier in the sun...)
Tidy bedrooms
MOP FLOORS - yes STILL not done aaaarrrrgggghh!

Right better go and do something.....DD in an odd mood... very quiet, not sure if she's coming down with something...
Oh and thanks for all tips about A&P powders - will get some tomorrow to try!
Have good afternoon all
BBL

scattyspice · 05/03/2009 12:54

Hi all.

EHM Well done Ellie (it took my DD 12mnths LOL).

Wendy My 2 were both v clingy (esp DS) tis draining huh (I still can't believe it when he runs into school without a backward glance now).

Winnie Hi

Jas Good luck getting to toddler group!

Mad It must be a struggle if you still have drains in!

Hi EV swan LOL at Pj's!

dylsmum1998 · 05/03/2009 13:02

afternoon all. no flying as such done yet today must get on. walked into town and had a wander around the shops- was nice just to browse, didnt buy much. i went out to get photos for my passport and came back without them tho, so will have to try again another day

done
tidy
hoover
sort dry washing
load washer
mooch round shops
rubbish out

to do
unload washer
wash up
ironing
s&s bathroom
mission

i MUST do some course work tonight. i have done nothing all week and am now very behind.
but i have really enjoyed having a whole week home with dc. ho hum not long til the super long summer break.

EV i often do that too have made a real effort not to use it as much this week and have noticed dd's imagination has come on a lot more than i realised

Wendy i have been trying to sort out world book day as well- except ds hates dressing up. so i let him sort it himself he went to school looking remarkably like himself said he was being Andy from the just kidding book he likes. he said there no pics in the book so he thinks he looks like a normal child in ds's imagination. hence no real dressing up needed.

qumps sorry you had a rough morning, hope the rest of the day is easier for you

EHM glad the toilet training is going well

TMH jas herb and anyone i have missed hello

dylsmum1998 · 05/03/2009 13:07

afternoon all

I passed my work exam yay. I can now apply for jobs on promotion for 2 years (If I don't get one in that time I have to sit it again). Should be scheduling 2 interviews for the jobs I applied for in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

done

a little tidying in kitchen and living room this morning

that was it for me wasn't up to my usual pre-work runaround.

qumps sorry you are having a rough day, if it helps ds reduces me to tears on a fairly regular basis being a parent is bloody hard!

swanriver · 05/03/2009 14:48

Wolf was that the trip to London when it took all day to get home? Well done

  • I'm so glad all the hard work paid off.

I think that's the spirit of World Book Day Dylsmum, just to LIKE a book in the first place, and to feel you are that character.

Now enough fun had today, have to do something useful...
