Mad so sorry we missed you. My ds and dd were on the rampage and just kept going in different directions so I didn't even get chance to speak to Grouchy or Wolf which was really annoying. Think they may be coming down with something, have administered calpol and they are asleep by 6 pm. Feel so bad about the whole thing - so sorry grouchy and wolf it was lovely meeting you but I just couldn't chat with those two running round I was too worried about them getting lost. I know you must have been the same wolf. Mad we really missed you it didn't feel right without you just like this thread wouldn't.
Hello everyone else

Welcome Winnie

wendyredredrobin · 21/02/2009 18:50

Don't think the railway museum was a great idea for a meet up in hindsight. Too difficult to keep together and chat.
Ruby nice dresses!
swan enjoy the guests!
scatty enjoy the car!
Forgot everything else so

wendy it was lovely to see you and your two gorgeous little ones - I did have my hands full with ds in the morning I couldn't catch him and couldn't manage very well with him and pram and bag, luckily he'd chilled out a bit by the afternoon.

ruby I love both those dresses. I think they would very much suit large-norked redheads (or even me who is redheaded and smallnorked)

swan we will try again definately, great to realise that grouchy is only 10 mins drive from my front door and I think I own mad coffee and a sticky bun or 6 plus galen is close by two so we could pretty much get the whole threads worth of flyladies in one place (preferably one with only one entrance and exit)

galen · 21/02/2009 19:42

popping in V briefly to say Hi!Have freind coming round for pizza and drinks in a bit.
Sorry that mad missed the meet - hope you're OK and had a nice day anyway.
Glad other 3 had fun. Would love to meet up next time - would be great!

Dh got back last night. Quite sad but doing OK.
Reports from Ireland say FIL is making good progress today so that is good at least.

Had a busy but good day today. My sis and her DH and DD(3) came up. All went to cinema this am for special deal family film. My sister and her DH went in with 5 of my kids and her DD, and me and DS2 and DH went for a leisurely coffee which was lovely!

Not much flying done here - but have had a go with new hoover which is fab! Seriously powerful! Quite big, and a bit loud but doesn't bother me LOL DH has nicknamed it "the beast" Got up LOADS of supposedly recently hoovered carpets!

Nee dto go and sort lounge for friend. Will have to drink wine for second night in a row...tut tut! Me and DH polished off a bottle between us last night....I dont drink that often so I suffered a bit today!Need to rebuild my tolerance after several years of breastfeeding one child or another LOL

Must dash.
See you all tomorrow

Oh and welcome winnie this thread is wonderful! Everyone is sooo lovely and it has helped me no end to get motivated and organised! I only joined in Jan and have a way to go - but am making serious progress with the household chaos LOL

scattyspice · 21/02/2009 20:13

Hi all.

What a shame about the meet up . We should try again (and leave the kids at home!)

Swan - sounds like a good day.
Ruby - dresses lovely, esp the 1st. Dh always thinks I look odd when I put a dress/skirt on LOL.

galen - I can't drink either .

Car is a silver mazda! (7 yrs old but v shiny).

I have just watched comic relief dancing - hilarious!

BB tomorrow.

TheMadHouse · 21/02/2009 20:18

Havent read the tread yet - but I will.

We have just got in - we had a fab day. BUT missed the Northern Galls. We were propper numpties and didnt exchange mobile numbers.

We were slightly late getting there, due to a road closure and missed the meeting point, but had a brill time. We bought a family half term day ticket thing and the boys went on tons of rides, train rides, watched the play and just had a fantastic time.

We also bought DS1 a backpack as a reward for completing his chart and then had dinner out before returning home.

They are in their PJ's on the sofa having some milk before bed.

So Ladies - Mobile numbers next time, plus there is a really cool soft play at York with indoor and outdoor section to keep the children entertained for next time (once I am well enough to drive - see here, so we could spend the day there.

Sorry again - will now read thread.

wendyredredrobin · 21/02/2009 20:25

Galen glad to hear things not so bad
Mad glad you had a good day!
See you tomorrow

EustaciaVye · 21/02/2009 20:50

Ruby - love the dresses. The monsoon one is one of three I am thinking of for a summer wedding. nother is phase eight so we must have similar taste.

Mad - glad you had a good day. Shame about missing the others for the meet up.

Been dealing with floodwater in garage most of day. Super drain engineer came out (at £95 per hour and was here an hour and a half but only charged us fior the first 1/2 hour. Phew.

scattyspice · 22/02/2009 09:53

Morning all .

Mad - sounds like you had a good day. Soft play place looks good!

EV - Hope you haven't had too much stuff damaged!

Lovely sunny day here . Off to a party with DD soon.

To do:
Write DD party invites
find pw for car
DS home work
Get ready for school/work/nursery

BBL

swanriver · 22/02/2009 10:55

Dropped dh and two kids at church whilst I do final clearup for my cousin, feeling defeated as usual by thought of guests, noticing the things that normally don't stress me at all. Think this must be some kind of phobic reaction, procrastination followed by panic.
Oh well, casserole in oven, and cheesecake base prepared. In process of NOT finding juniper berries in alphabetized spices, found spare car key this is ridiculous.

Need to lay table
entertain to some degree roaming 6 year old
feel positive
glass of wine
shut door to messy bedroom
final s&s to bathroom
put some dry laundry away
prepare vegetables, peas pots and salad and sweet pots
wash fruit

Have a good day everyone

dylsmum1998 · 22/02/2009 11:23

Hello All

So the meet up wasn't exactly what we wanted but it was a wonderful day nonetheless. I'm so sorry I missed you Mad and it was great to meet wendy and wolf

Catching up on resting up. I'm working tomorrow morning and it's been a l-o-n-g week for a Grouchy one

winnie09 · 22/02/2009 11:57

swanriver, I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOUR LIST ACTUALLY INCLUDES 'FEEL POSITIVE' (sorry didn't mean to shout) Good luck, but most important, enjoy your guests

dylsmum1998, at new bed. I really need a new one too.

I have done more laundry today ,
cleaned, vaccumed and tidied sitting room, hall, landing, bathroom and my bedroom & am feeling very pleased with self

Am wallowing in tidy house whilst dc aren't here. Opening the kitchen door today and there being a gleaming space was a delight.
I have a sad life

dylsmum1998 · 22/02/2009 13:03

winnie it is lovely when you can see result of hard work isnt it.
sounds like you have done really well this weekend.

don't know know whether to do the ironing or to do my uni work. so while i procrastinate about it i am on here wasting time!

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 22/02/2009 13:55

afternoon all winnie welcome to the thread

done
made bed
read to ds
used dustbuster to hoover en-suite floor and attic staircase and bits in main bedroom (I want my new vac)
went to soft play but it was shut for a party [boo]
went shopping to buy prezzies for my mum's birthday, bought a couple of books for myself, including Bake, and we had lunch out
just got home, ds has crashed out on the sofa and apparently I've committed a cardinal sin by asking dp to empty the bins while I do the cleaning he really pisses me off sometimes with his general unreasonableness. Its not like I've asked him to sell a kidney to buy me shoes or anything grrrrrr!

Right off to start cleaning bbl, have a lovely day all. grouchy if you hear screaming from the direction of my house it will be because I am putting dp through the grater attachment of the food processor, sensitive bits first!

Jas · 22/02/2009 14:27

lol Wolfcub

Sorry your meet didn't go as planned, but it seems you all had a good day out anyway
Better luck next time.

I've hoovered, tidied, and finished the laundry mountain today, and DP did the shopping, despite the fact that it is easier to do it myself....I got 5 phonecalls checking what I wanted/where to find it!

TheMadHouse · 22/02/2009 16:11

Afternoon all

We have had a lovley day again up to now.

Bowling first thing - 4p
Then got DS1 some slippers and a top
Had lunch out
had a walk
DS2 has napped
We have played snakes and ladders

Used new hoover to do upstairs - god it was horrendous. 3 times we empties it. It is a good hoover if not a little heavy.

I delegated the stairs to DH

I have dinner to cook
Ironing moutian to climb
Thinks to pop in loft
Boys to bath and get ready for bed
School clothes to get out for DS1

I also need to wash all the boys coats as they are really muddy

scattyspice · 22/02/2009 16:37

Hi all.

Swan - hope today goes well. I always feel a little before having guests too. Partly the house and food and partly the need to 'entertain'.

Dyl - hope you had some peace and quiet today . I often worry randomly about a dc . Is there anything in particular bothering you? or has the feeling passed now?

Winnie - Enjoy your sparkly house (while it lasts lol).

Hi everyone else.

DD had a good time at her party. All her friends mums seemed to have babaies or be pregnant (came over all broody!).

Done:
shops
dd party invites
laundry

To do:
ds homework
pack bags
car pw
etc..

dylsmum1998 · 22/02/2009 17:33

scatty i felt better about dd this morning, i have no idea what was on my mind, she is home now and as suspected is absolutely fine. very random i often wonder what she doing etc when at her dads but was really worried last night, totally unfounded obviously.

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 22/02/2009 17:36

hello again

tidied the chest of drawers that doubles as my dressing table
hung some clothes up
put ds's mini bath-mats into milton
watched harry potter 4
sorted out a load of washing for dp to put on

galen · 22/02/2009 18:14

Evening all
mad glad you had a good day at the
Non-meetup LOL!
dyls hope you enjoyed your child free time
swan hope time with your guests is going well
scatty glad dd enjoyed her party. new babies/pg mums ALWAYS make me broody and hey I've got 6 already (NOT having anymore either ) LOL
wolf grrr at DP
jas know what you mean about doing things yourself. I always reckon it is far quicker to do stuff myself than to ask DH to help LOL
winnie sounds like youre doing really well, well done you!

Well I had a nice night with friend last night., She was my bridesmaid, and I haven't seen her for quite a while so it was nice to catch up . She has just got engaged so came with her DF. I was up till 2am ( dont forget I am a 9pm bedtime gall normally!) Then DS2 woke at 5 am
Also drank a bit more wine than was good for me - LOL

Didn't get too much done today due to feeling a bit fragile LOL
Did manage church though, house not too bad. Going to sort out school stuff now, and last bit of tidying.

Need to get back to proper routines tomorrow - need to house bless a lot LOL

See you all tomorrow

scattyspice · 22/02/2009 18:16

Phew galen - good for you .

grouchyoscar · 22/02/2009 18:35

Everything is done

Laundry washed, sorted and hung to dry (x2 loads)
Drying washing brought down and finished off in TD and sorted for putting away
Clothes for me and Ed out for morning
Bags sorted for morning
Lunches made
Bags sorted and ready
Ed done his reading and some maths sheets (Damn the mother who visits Primary Resources.com )

Just tea baths, cuddles, stories and bed now. Work tomorrow then Community Cohesion Arts session then back to being a Grouchy Mum Tuesday I'll do a morning in the school nursery (work experience but really I want to play in the sand/water/playdough) and Understanding Maths course so you'll understand if I'm not about for a bit and the house is a tip

Nah, you lot are addictive!

Wolfcub · 22/02/2009 19:03

hello again

done
bathroom cleaned
floors downstairs vacumed to best of knackered dyson's ability
sink shone
kitchen surfaces and hob cleaned
toys picked up from living room floor

just giving ds a cuddle then I'm going to have a very large gin when he's in bed and try and get myself in a work frame of mind, busy day tomorrow (urgh)

g'night all
