MOrning ALL

galen sorry to read your news about fil. Sending you all strength & kind thoughts.
TMH I am sure you will be very organised for the op.
wolf I wish I had know you where in London we could have met up? Even for a quick cuppa.
grouchy I am still [shocked] that Mum didn't collect him until 4pm. Also that she didn't check with you he was ok & length of stay was a bit much. one of ellie's little friends mum comes for a cuppa/play & stays for hours.even if i say we must do certain things/or leave house by a certain time. last time I had them they to stayed for 4 hours. i then said if you want a lift we will have to leave now. She said no thats fine we will walk & didn't make an attempt to leave!!!!!!

galen - sorry to hear about your fil. We lost a close relative from a brain tumour a few months ago. He had 2 months from diagnosis to passing away though

Grouchy - bizarre playdate.

Off for blood test this morning and dentist this afternoon. I;m going to intersperse with shopping for Clinique stuff at Debenhams as I have vouchers and they have an offer of free gift if you buy two items at the moment.

Will try and deal with bathroom later.

Wolfcub · 18/02/2009 08:32

morning all, just catching up on yesterday's thread

galen so so sorry about your FIL
grouchy I think I would have had my eyebrows in my hairline if that had happened to me
ehm I'll let you know next time I'm down it could be April but I'm not sure yet. do you have any idea what happened in Balham yesterday? There was a fatality on the railway and all the trains stopped but I haven't seen anything about it on the news.
ruby I hope you are feeling less blue today, it seems to be going round at the moment. Do you think I could commission you to make a new boob card for my MIL as she is having reconstructive surgery on the 7th and I'd like to do something nice for her? Please feel free to say no
ev hope dentist isn't too bad, enjoy spending your vouchers

bbl...

swanriver · 18/02/2009 09:05

Galen - that's awful news about your FIL. Are there any relatives to support your MIL and FIL in Ireland?

Dyslmum thank goodness it's fixed. and Argos infuriating but perhaps you'll find a better one elsewhere

Wolfcub, hope exam went well, and what a treat for your DS on Saturday. I think theyare all little Vikings at heart.

EHM - I had a dear friend who used to stay for 4 hours when I had littlies. It always made me feel very shifty, but now I see it was because she was enjoying herself . I think it was because I assumed I had to entertain, whereas she would have been happy for me to do all my chores bustle around and just wanted company for kids. And she expected my children to stay for hours at her house.
I had another friend who was the opposite and used to pick up her 6-8 year old son after 1 hour on the dot worrying he had overstayed his welcome. Now he hangs out more which is relaxing.

Now I will have to consult kids on their plans for this morning. No playdates today which leaves us free as the air to wander.

I do need to do kerbside recycling though.

Wolfcub · 18/02/2009 09:12

plumber has been and fixed radiator yay. Now need to think of something to do with DS.

Ludaloo · 18/02/2009 09:13

Hello Everyone

Sorry I haven't been around for a while so have no idea what you are all up to.
I've been fairly busy here...I have managed to get myself a job, and start next month. Its part time but I'm looking forward to it!

I need to try and get back into a routine on the housework front, so I'm going to start the babysteps again.

Hope you are all doing ok...and hello to any pals that remember me

Ruby - walk with bribe at end maybe only answer.

Dd is usually as you describe. For some reason this morning she is not. It is quite wonderful.

EHM · 18/02/2009 10:43

wolf sadly this happens all the time on the railway/underground. I witnessed a lady jumping in front of a train when coming back from london at Boreham Wood Station, not a pretty sight. It didn't make the news only the local paper

crap must dash should have left house 10 mins ago didn't think it was as late!!!!!!!!!

Hi All. I now have clinique compact, mascara and green redness controller thingymbob. And a free gift bag which has make up brushes, eye cream, lipstick, mascara and eyeshadow I paid about £30 on top of my £15 gift card. It is definitely worth going when they have the offers.

DDs very good while I had my blood test. DD1 held my hand

Need to make lunch in a bit and then brush teeth for dentist. Dds are going to watch Little Mermaid 2 in a minute.

Ludaloo · 18/02/2009 12:16

Thanks Ruby How old is your DD? I don't think you are alone...I have a friend who is stuggling with her son ATM...he is 13yrs old.

EV Oooooh very nice! Does sound a bargain!

Ludaloo · 18/02/2009 12:17

Litttle Mermaid 2 too scary so we are now on to Curious George. DD1 watching but DD fallen asleep.

EustaciaVye · 18/02/2009 12:31

I have been virtuous and made a sausage casserole in the slow cooker for tonight. Will do downstairs loo in a bit (I count that as part of my bathroom zone).

BiancaCastafiore · 18/02/2009 14:14

I'm not managing to keep up with the threads any more but miss you all so thought I'd say a quick hello

Might try and pop back properly once the kids friends arrive and (hopefully) keep them out from under my feet

Wolfcub · 18/02/2009 17:00

wm unloaded, reloaded and on
washing hung up

Wolfcub · 18/02/2009 17:01

waves to bianca

swanriver · 18/02/2009 17:02

Had a good morning and a good afternoon, although children are now tres grubby, 9and car) covered in mud, sugar, jam. Two to 2 hour activityclub a cardrive away, while I went to Sainsbury's and then scampered down to river which I have never done, past loads of posh houses with designer gardens [sigh]. Found a fantastic pub with ds2 for summer visit. He was enthralled by bridge, rowers, low tide.
Then picked up ds1 & dd and went on to botanical gardens where they ran around alot and we had a fattening picnic. Even did craft activity there for free so they ran around for while pretending to be rare moths

Hi Bianca, hi EV good luck at dentist Ruby yours are prob dancing now, hi Spiderplant/Ludaloo hope halfterm is going well for you.

P.S. Have done no cleaning at all.
Will hang out some laundry now and organise supper.
and have a cup of tea

grouchyoscar · 18/02/2009 17:18

Hello All

Had a hardwork day with 2 hardwork bunnies. Ed and DH! we went to the Royal Armories today and Ed was 'i wanna do this/that/have some food/go home/see this and DH was getting really wound up by it. I'm just being calm and placid and trying to keep out of the bickering Honestly, I have 2 DCs I'm sure, just with a massive age gap.

House kind of tidy, no, house is tidy and I'm off to put some of the meatball pile to good use for tea

TTFN

EustaciaVye · 18/02/2009 17:33

Thanks - Dentist fine. Cue moment with him chasing DD2 around and her refusing to open her mouth. She won.

House is a complete pit. We have painted, constructed and played too much and now I feel thoroughly depresssed by my surroundings.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 18/02/2009 17:42
