Morning.

Mine slept until 8.15 but I paid for it last night as they were up til gone 10

I have friends coming here today, but have washing on the line, next load in, and intend to give the whole house a quick once over before they arrive.

Then we are going to the park/ shopping for a birthday pressie for ds

swanriver · 17/02/2009 09:36

Everyone is very peaceful this morning??

I have managed to lose my car key which I hid before going on holiday.
Finding alternative means of getting to activity club.

Off now. I will find it when I return.

Yes. I have exactly the same problem. Mine are no longer capable of speaking to each other without it ending in screaching, crying or whining. It obviously takes twice as long, but if at all possible I get them doing it at completely different times, or failing that, in different rooms.

ShannaraTiger · 17/02/2009 10:38

Morning all

Ruby well done on the homework, I keep forgetting dd's reading
swan hope the activity club went well and you enjoyed your window shopping
Jas morning

Bath and hair wash both dc's
hair wash me

To do
Washing up and shinig sink
Clean bathroom
Wash bathroom and kitchen floor

Mum is arriving about 11:30 so I'd better get a mve on.
yesterday i scrubbed the mould off our bedroom wall and did the hoovering so I'm slowly catching up. I'm still feel like I'm running behind teh fly wagon. - for some reason I have this picture in my head of the FLYlady sitting on top of an old wild west open horse drawn wagon. My ultimate goal to be sitting up their next to her wearing my lace up shoes clutching my filled in Control Journal. Currently I'm not but I'm getting their.

Anyway enough prattling or Mum will arrive an the floor will still be soaking wet!

Have a good day everyone
BBL

EHM · 17/02/2009 10:52

shannagood luck!
dropdeadfred hello.

Hello to ALL to follow. will try & get back later.x

swanriver · 17/02/2009 10:54

Ruby it is seriously awful. I have sent mine off to a holiday Bible club for two hours
On Monday, they were all quarrelling whilst making a tremendous mess of sofa cushions and in the end I tried to take my own advice and just shut the door saying I am not interested in who is to blame for anything. They did sort of start playing together/enjoy each others company/(make even more mess) so I suppose it worked. Briefly. But today I just decided they needed to be doing some exciting activity away from home.

Thank goodness I have found car key, once I stopped panicking it was easily located in the birthday card box .

Now hoovering and more laundry.

Shannara, I am now thinking not Flylady but Calamity Jane!
Thankyou EHM - enjoy your day with Ellie. Is she good at helping and pottering? Or does she rush to the door with her coat in hand eager to go out? It is such a sweet age.

EHM · 17/02/2009 11:14

swan she is very good at helping & happy to play/sing to herself. today she wants to go to the park (3rd day in a row) I am trying to avoid as its very cold & can't face the park for a 3rd day in the row. I've suggested swimming, softplay 'NO Mummy PARK peeese!' We even went next door to try & see my neighbour's new baby. She didn't answer, will try again later.
she is currently eating cereal watching tv. We've played with the Playdoh Icecream maker. Peppa puzzles & dressing up stuff. Have a great day.x

Hello All Newbies and FLYbees*

Dh at work !

Ed and I still at home. I'm with Ed. He won't leave the house unless there is a toy involved in it (new and lego )it's 1/2 day closing where I wanted to go so, everything will close in 1/2 hr so that's my plans thwarted. I have banned wii/Ds/Xbox/PC access and there have been tantrums. He is now having much fun inflating/deflating a balloon. Honestley. I could have saved so much money on toys!

I have

Up and make bed
Upstairs with bag of wet washing
Swap stuff on clothes hore
Damp stuff down to dry
Load TD and run
Empty DW
Put away
Empty WM
Sort for drying
Up and hang up to dry
put away
massive pile of dry clean laundry
Mend laundry basket

it's going to be a l-o-n-g day

EustaciaVye · 17/02/2009 12:50

Hi all.

Sympathy for all those with squabbling children.

TheMadHouse · 17/02/2009 15:03

Afternoon all

We have had a lovley morning. We went bowling with friends and then back to mine and I fed all the children.

DS2 is now napping

DS1 has just had a burger - can not fill him again!!

In between all this I have

2 loads of washing and drying
Washing up
Sorted the freezer
Menu planned for hospital

I am just going to have a cuppa and then I am going to sort out shopping list, cooking and freeze list and looking after the children list

I also need to book in to a cut (will do a home colour job this month)

grouchyoscar · 17/02/2009 16:03

Hello again

Been out gardening with DS and his friend. I'm shattered now

Have also made a dozen roasted veg bubble and squeak patties. can't be wasting good food can we?

Ed's mate turned up at 11 and no one has called/been round to see if he's OK. Poor lad is only 6. Good job I'm a trustworthy soul in'it

EHM · 17/02/2009 16:09

grouchy at no one checking your ds's friend?
TMH is your op next week?
EV hello

Rice pudding cooking in slow cooker. off to prepare potatoes to go in oven for baking. Having with Tuna, spring onion, black pepper & splash of olive oil yum!

Have a great evening all.

grouchyoscar · 17/02/2009 16:17

EHM his mum has just come round to collect him, I thought he might be staying for tea TBH!

Ah, tea, better make Ed's rainbow rice...byeeeeeeeeeeeeee

swanriver · 17/02/2009 16:18

I would have a complete sense of humour failure at that Grouchy. But some of my friends have playdates which last for days so I suppose it's just a different approach. The longer they play I suppose the easier it is to have them over in a funny way (although tedious to go out with little friends in tow - I always get worried they will get lost or run over, and supervising them in playgrounds quite nerveracking when I wouldn't mind if my own were swinging by one finger from a pylon..)

Things going well. First two playdates dematerialized, dd v. upset, but two more little girls have filled the space. They are playing some elaborate game up and downstairs and boys are joining in thank goodness. Certain amount of door slamming.

Made choc chip cookies. Not enough flour but second batch which was right was less popular...

TheMadHouse · 17/02/2009 16:46

Groucy I have to agree with Swan - I would have major issues

EHM Op is 9.30am next Friday I am busy planning everything

Just booked hair cut and added a colour to shop, so I am afriad I will be grey at the weekend girls

Bolegnease in the slow cooker for us tonight and then I will make a lasagne for tomorrows dinner.

Boys are dancing in the nude to their fav Sugar babes track (I can not stand them, but both of them love them) really strange as DS1 would only sleep to this by Queens of the Stone Age for the first twelve weeks of life - he had taste then.

grouchyoscar · 17/02/2009 16:52

Tmh Ed is screaming for Tommy Gun by the Clash atm. at 2.5 he was listening to Space Oddity at a cockpit made of cardboard boxes...and I wonder why I have problems with him?

swanriver · 17/02/2009 17:34

it must be very noisy in utero TMH, for that song to have had such a CALMING effect on ds1 but it does sound like heartbeats. He has a wonderful crooked smile the lead singer.
I think I have missed a whole decade of good music. Luckily I find I can sing almost all the words to Space Oddity without even thinking.

This has been a nice day! Hope Wendy's viewing went well, and all out of towners having fun.

See you tomorrow

shit shit shit.

galen · 17/02/2009 18:23

Evening all!
swan sounds like you had a nice day.
grouchy at Ed's little playmate! I really cant grasp that. DD 2 is only 6 - still V little!
ruby hope youre feeling birighter

tiger hoping youre having a nice time with your mum
mad well done on all the planning and lists.Glad you enjoyed bowling - we did too
ehm tea sounds yummy

cant remember rest - sorry - brain addled by paint fumes!
But hi all

Been bowling this am - great time!
Older kids then off to walk in the woods with friends and family.
DH painting woodwork in lounge....takling AGES.If I ever suggest deorating antwhere else please stop me! decorating with 6 children is a NIGHTMARE!

This afternoonI took 3 littlies to get shoes for DD4. I have to say that I find shoe shops the worst thing imaginable. It was Hell. DD4 Really fed up, Ds2 screaming. REALLY long wait, shopping centre PACKED... you get the idea! Not a fun afternoon but we got shoes. (I remember now why I normally go first thing!) but I promised DH I'd keep them out as long as possible so he could get on and piant....aaarrrgghhh

House now REALLY bad. Washing disaster happening all over ..... totally exhausted.Cant face any of it.Whinge!

Also had some very bad news about Dh's dad last night. He has been having Chemo for a malignant brain tumour which he had surgery to remove last Sept. He had been doing really well, and last scan showed he was clear, but yesterday was rushed back into hospital and they found several more tumours on his brain and spinal cord. They have given him 6 - 12 months. he is only 63 and up to the end of Aug last year was really fit and healthy, still woking, played golf, very lively etc... so it is all quite a shock. Poor DH is obviously distraught, and his mum is apparently in bits. They are all in Ireland though so not that easy to visit. Just waiting for an update before Dh decides if he is going over this week...

So all in all a bad week for FLYing so far... but that will have to wait. Kids having a fairly good break though!

Off grass sledging at local park tomorrow LOL

Really need to create some sort of list but I have so much to do I dont know where to start! I just keep tellling myself I'll get back on top of it next week.....

Have a good evening all
Hopefully see you all tomorrow!
