Morning all

Me and the mini's have been up since six, so they are now having milk and crumpets

I was in bed and asleep for 9pm The week caught up with me.

I have swopped my lie in for tomorrow, as DH fell asleep on the sofa nad is still and tired (what a nice wife I am)

We are all still in Pj's, but clothes are out ready.

No plans for today, except for a visit to the opticians for the mini's and then a walk on the beach, woods or to the park.

Jack frost has been and it is white with ice - no snow though.

Hope you all have a fab weekend.

Hi all.

Ruby !

Grouchy - hope you ok.

EV - sounds like a great day.

galen - have a good shop. Hope you can find something nice to wear over the bras too .

Mad - bowling sounds fun. Haven't been with dc yet.

I'm having a pretty good day too. Been to shops to buy a car seat (but dd too small). Ended up with a nice spring jumper (bat wing!). Done jigsaws, homework, playmobile, wash up, laundry and now am listening to Chicago while DC paint and I iron .

Off to a party at 3.

damewashalot · 07/02/2009 14:14

[Sticks head in and looks around to see if anyone actually remembers who this dame person may be]

Hello to people I know and those I may not too!

Really am trying to get myself into gear and throw myself back into the flying thing, I keep saying that but then scuttle off and don't must stop that.

So how are you all? Is everyone now super organised and putting me to shame? I shall try to pop in every day this week and see if my theory that it was this thread not the flying that helped so much before.

grouchyoscar · 07/02/2009 14:39

Dame WooHoo! Hello you. How are you keeping? DCs fine and well?

Hello Scatty too

I have been FLYing and have further DONE

Emptied WM
Sorted for drying
Taken drying stuff down
Hung wet stuff for drying
Take drying stuff down 2 flights of stairs
Load TD and run
Empty DW
Put away
Make more multisurface cleaner
Empty TD and load n run again
Begun to do the personal statement

How the hell can you procrastinate by flying?

Hoping the sight of 30 well built chaps in shorts will inspire me. Well HTH

swanriver · 07/02/2009 14:42

We have done first round of activities
dh minor sulk solved by brisk walk
ds2 is longing to get a red bus somewhere anywhere
I've been to shops
dh has gone to shops
children reading to each other
Ruby any sleepover tips?
Grouchy there was a piece about procrastination in Guardian families sect today by Oliver James. I keep tripping over the cat.
Mad - it can be like dancing, bowling!
Scatty - sounds great
DWAL, you are from the magic faraway tree I think. (tipping of soapsuds?) I am recent, not very organised, but finding a bit of backlog cleared.

swanriver · 07/02/2009 14:48

Set the timer, write it in rough. Leave it for 20 mins, then return and perfect.

Now, off to make guest room a bit less ddy.

damewashalot · 07/02/2009 14:56

Ds1 was reading the faraway tree when I was picking a name and as I have 4 boys and the washing machine is on a lot it still seems right

Yes thanks, boys are all fine, ds2 is going through a 'challenging' phase but we'll get through it, ds4 is 8 mths old now so I thought it was about time I got myself sorted. Everyone else's DC ok?

Welcome back Dame

I am my baby has to wear specs

We go and pick them up on wednesday. DS1 is slightly long sighted, but same in each eye, so OK.

DS2 is another matter (I knew something wasnt quite right, as he has been getting headaches), so off to the opticians (she is a friend). She decided to pop the dreaded drops in and check thoroughly and he is really long sighted in both eyes, but right is a lot worse than the left.

Also DH suffered with a sqint as a lad and had an operation at 5, so there is a chance one of the boys could suffer to. So Specs it is.

He gets his little NHS ones on Wednesday afternoon.

I know it is not the end of the world, but I am a little sad about it.

Righty Ho

Mad Lots of kids at Ed's school have specs. They all look cute especially the U5s. At least it's going to be addressed before it becomes a problem IYKWIM. I know what you mean about being tho so big hugs/choc cake whichever you'd prefer.

Dame I was watching my fave TV show

I was going to go to the Media Museum in Bradford today as Ed would enjoy pressing buttons. I was warned off by the weather forecasts as if it's cold here it will be colder there (hey, I'm a Bradfordian, I know!) so it will wait for 1/2 term.

Ok, I've gone as far as I can with the statement, I need further information and inspiration before I go further. I have until 17/2 so..... At least I used the time effectivley.

Enjoy your evenings ladies

Spiderplant · 07/02/2009 17:28

Hi all

galen · 07/02/2009 17:58

Evening all

swan the sleep over thing was not too bad actually. She had 2 friends, we took them bowling, then home for pizza and B'day cake, then sleepover. She is 9 and seemed to love it

grouchy I've never owned a pair of DN's but lime green ones sound fab!( I love lime green - have one wall of my kitchen painted in it!)

wolf I have used grren metropolis in the past for sellig quite a few books with good success. Also bough ts ome of there with the proceeds!

mad have booked bowling - excited now LOL!
My DS1 has worn glasses since he was 5. Not a big problem...well OK kind of a PITA more than anything as little boys (or big boys for that matter!)and glasses dont mix - I couldnt even begin to count how many pairs of glasses he has broken!

So had a good day here.
A nice shopping trip in peace!
Had great success in Primark ( sorry to those that hate it - my sister tells me it's awful!) Got 4 bras, 2 tops, a carigan, and 2 pairs of ski trousers(reduced from £20 to £3 each!) for DD's ( great in the snow!) all for £29!
Also got a pair of boots reduced from £35 to £12!
Oh and a new baking book from the cheapy book shop!

Going to watch DVD with older ones now, with popcorn...must go pick DVD.
Have a good evening all
See you tomorrow

EustaciaVye · 07/02/2009 18:10

Hello Dame.

Ruby - I need to declutter again. Plan to start on Monday...

TMH - do you remember when my DD needed glasses. She was 3.5 and I was gutted but they very soon became part of ''her" iykwim. She has just been told she doesnt need them anymore 18 months on and it is now srange that she isnt wearing them.

dylsmum1998 · 07/02/2009 19:05

galen Glad the bowling is booked - hope you enjoy it - oh and the shopping was good

{wisper} DS2 has gone to sleep first time tonight - fingers crossed he keeps it up

I had a bath tonight and for the first time ever I locked the door and had one on my own no children jumping in once they realised where I was. It was very indulgent, but I needed it and it will give my hair chance to dry.
