Morning all

Me and the mini's have been up since six, so they are now having milk and crumpets

I was in bed and asleep for 9pm The week caught up with me.

I have swopped my lie in for tomorrow, as DH fell asleep on the sofa nad is still and tired (what a nice wife I am)

We are all still in Pj's, but clothes are out ready.

No plans for today, except for a visit to the opticians for the mini's and then a walk on the beach, woods or to the park.

Jack frost has been and it is white with ice - no snow though.

Hope you all have a fab weekend.

Mad - we were told DD would need them forever. She has an astigmatism and a squint. I was very surprised with the about turn recently. I do know how you feel though as it breaks your heart that there is some 'imperfection' with your child and there is nothing you can do about it.

He is young enough though that it shouldnt be an issue getting him to wear them and he will look cute, and soon they will just be another part of him. If you/he finds them tricky then he could always aim for contacts age 13 or so.

Your feelings of will subside, I promise. It did take me a couple of months though and for ages I felt guilty about it. Totally irrational but then so is most of motherhood.

Wolfcub · 07/02/2009 20:30

evening All grouchy I know what you mean about dps and cooking, whilst I appreciate the meals made I always hate the next morning. dp has pissed me off today it's a good job I don;'t knit, I hear the needles make great offensive weapons.

done
went to currys to pick up tv, don't like it as much of the old one even though it's supposed to be better
ummed and ahhhed over wall and radiator with father, we think I need to buy new radiator which is another expense we can't afford
went to tescos with mum and dad, left dp at home with sleepy ds, two hours later when I came home not only had he not been to sleep but he hadn't been fed either
made lunch and put shopping away
watched wall:e with dp and ds
played with ds for what felt like ages, toot toot
made ds tea, then made it again because he wanted more and there wasn't any
made our tea which is just finishing off in the oven
washed up 3 x
unloaded, reloaded and ran dw
cleaned kitchen surfaces twice
put dry pots away

I haven't done half the jobs that I wanted to do today and the kitchen/diner is still a total state. dp started to sweep the floor but did a half arsed job so I can't mop until I go back and do it all again grrr

have a lovely evening everyone

Hello all

Firstly Mad My DS has worn his glasses since he was just 2 (he was first tested at 12 months, and they knew then he'd need them). After a couple of days we had all got used to it - both dh and I are short sighted. It'll be fine although it is another thing to worry about with millions of trips to the opticians for tests and broken glasses.

Galen glad you enjoyed the book - what are you reading now?! You're inspirational with all you get round to doing!

Well, I went to bed at DRUMROLL ... 9pm last night! Unfortunately was woken several times with DH puking up downstairs in the bathroom , he had been on the x box til midnight! And woke up feeling rotten - i've got another cold. Think it's the trauma of the last week or so getting to us both. DD has the bandage off Monday all being well, then physio and occ therapy on Wed so a busy week at the hospital.

Grouchy as (currently not working!) teacher perhaps I could provide inspiration if you want me to look at your statement?

Everyone sorry no personal greetings, will hopefully get time tomorrow

Off in the bath now then to bed - determined to make it 2 nights before 10 in a row yippee!

EustaciaVye · 07/02/2009 21:09

Mad and Ruby - you're good at shopping - see if you can help here

galen · 08/02/2009 07:42

Morning all!
Not a bad start here.
DS tried to get up at 5 am but this time snuggles in our bed worked and we got to sleep till 7 am ( a lie in for me LOL) DH having his official lie in todaso still in bed, everyone else just descended and breakfast in various stages of chaos LOL

Wendy I never feel like I get much done LOL Always feel like I need at least another 4 hours a day! I making things like reading and getting a bit of Me time a priority this year though. Next mission is a much needed haircut LOL.
Well done on the early nigh too! Hope your dd gets on Ok with the banadage of on Mon. You certainly have had a rough week.

wolf sometimes I find it is easier just to do things myself than to try to get DH to help LOL Really annoying I agree when you have to go back and redo a job you think they've done.Take it easy today if you can.

Not sure what we're doing today...
Church this morning
Cottage pie to make for tea.
Bit of rescue tidying this afternoon ( 6 kids in the house a lot causes so much chaos in such a short space of time LOL)
Hopefully some baking....
School stuff to sort...
All a bit fed up of snow here now so not sure we'll do much more frolicking in snow today LOL

Have a good Sunday all
BBL!

Simply · 08/02/2009 10:33

Hello to all. Not much by way of personal messages from me as I haven't showered and dressed yet and about to do that in a mo.

Dame Hello! Iirc, you and I could have been near neighbours some time ago. That nice house in Cc is still for sale, you know! Nothing wrong with it, I'm sure, it's just that houses are so slow to sell around here.

Right. I'm off to get showered. I'm not sure wwhether I should do a cooked lunch or tea. I've three teenagers (only one is mine) still in bed atm. Ds is already out and about. There doesn't seem much point doing a cooked lunch when people haven't even woken up and had brekkie and it's 10.30am. Probably tea time would be better.

Have a good day one and all.

done

vaccuumed upstairs
sorted out some books to try and sell
put bottles in recycling
cleaned kitchen surfaces again - how much mess can one man and one small boy make for goodness sake
unloaded and reloaded dishwasher
quick tidy up in living room

I have just given ds a big box of out of date dried pasta, a pan, a bowl, whisk, measuring jug, wooden spoon and plastic crockery - he is happy as larry

grouchyoscar · 08/02/2009 12:13

Hello again

Had a rubbish nights sleep. DH was a right grumpy bum with me so I ended up downstairs in the cold . Took one look at the state of the kitchen and just shut the door. The cleaning fairy will NOT do the kitchen portering at 5am.

Woken up by Ed standing on my head tring to get under my quilt

Went back to bed. Got up ay 9:30 and

DONE

Made bed
Got dressed
Had breakfast
Take wet washing upstairs
Take down drying washing
Hang wet stuff to dry
Take damp stuff to TD, load and run
Put dry washing away
Get Ed's uniform ready
Dust bed room
Sweep bedroom floor
Sweep downstairs
Vac front room
Empty DW
Put away

And I'm totally shattered but the house is acceptable now.

To Do

General play with Ed
Make lunches for tomorrow
Pull the statement together.

Thanks for the offer Wendy I'll probably take you up on it when I have it presentable.

Welcome back Simply good to see you

I'm rambling, I better stop

EustaciaVye · 08/02/2009 14:11

Hi Ruby - That is the boat I wanted but it is out of stock in the argos here. I dont want to put you to any trouble though.

I might be doing an Asda order later today in which case I'll add it to the kitchen knives and toy storage. I'll let you know later if that's ok.

swanriver · 08/02/2009 16:45

Hello everyone.
We have had a very relaxing day apart from too much bedswopping first thing. I think we are now going to crack down on ds2's early morning chatting it is too much, and too cheerful for the likes of me.

It is lovely to have a guest in the house, (dh's friend)kids are thrilled to have another member of household, and we had a great breakfast all chatting over croissants real coffee and marmalade. Dd has not had a single tantrum all day..but luckily next weekend we are going to see grandma and grandpa so and she will stay happy.

Long walk (very cold) play in park, giant snowballs like doomsday meteorites littering mud, pub lunch and another long walk back home. Unfortunately we did not go to church which always makes me feel a bit shifty (for dcs more than anything) so will have to look up the readings.

Have swept front path, sorted out some garden rubbish, pulled out some dead clematis stalks, and paid and posted electricity bill. And did vp with ds1 for five mins. Just longing to get out into garden properly and do some planning.

Wendy hope dh is alright and you've had some help today. What are you reading at the moment, if it is to be recommended?

They've been playing board game with adults and now are watching Horton.

TheMadHouse · 08/02/2009 19:09

Evening all

We have spent the day at mums, doing all her DIY (she had kept it all for us). Had a lovley lunch and dinner and have only just got home.

So all my to do's are still outstanding, will crack on when boys are in bed.

Swan I have just read Tuesdays with Morie (from my book circle on here) and it was really interesting.

wendyredredrobin · 08/02/2009 19:54

Hello all thanks for all your messages of support today!
I got up at 7.30 ant thought i was ok but laid on the sofa after breakfast and apparently was asleep by 8.30! Woke up at 11, lovely dh had kept dc out of living room and entertained them whilst I was sleeping. Spent rest of day catching up as MIL and FIL for tea. Homemade cheese scones, homemade croissants, homemade marmalade teabread and homemade bread. Phew! Went to DH's aunt's house for a piece of cake and it turned out to be a full spread of millions of cakes etc grr! So we all had to save ourselves for my homemade stuff instead of Marks and Sparks cakes at auntie's house. Kids very tired today, ds not himself, probably getting my cold.

DD having stitches out as well as bandage off tomorrow, we'll see how it goes. It's snowing here hope I can get to hospital!

Was like a radgey woman (is that North Eastern dialect?!) this afternoon, must be time of the month time

not sure what i'm up to tonight just eaten another cheese scone (that'll be another few pounds on today lol) so feeling too full for bed! Will go for Early Night Number Three!!!

I have just read Rose Tremain, 'The Colour' - loved it but then I always love her books. Not sure what to go for next, am reading David Blunkett's biography which was 5p in the charity shop in between 'proper' books.

EustaciaVye · 08/02/2009 19:57

Ruby, If you dont mind getting the Polly Pocket boat this week and then posting to me I'd really appreciate it. I can pay by paypal or send a cheque. Do you still have my email?
