Morning all. Early start in the Coffee household but am hoping it'll motivate me to achieve lots

Morning routine is well underway (although DD and I are still in pyjamas) and need to do some shopping later. Really like the idea of an easy gardening list Galen. I never seem to find time to do any and then it gets all overwhelming and I leave it to DH to sort out

Right, off to get myself and the little espresso dressed - back later.

Sorry, just realised it is Swan who is doing the gardening list. Am not as awake as I thought....

Morning

Thanks IVC for the thread - I am never as awake as I thought

Had the most abismal night - I had cramp in my calf at 2am and woke the whole house screaming took forever to get everyone back to sleep and as a result have two very groucy boys this morning.

I am just doing breakfast

Have to go to Aldi
Collect DS1 from Preschool
Lunch
Collect Mum from hospital

Wolf anything we can do to help? I agree John and sweet tooth man can be so anoying. I washed it's not easy being green and so want a cardboard coffin. They wouldnt fit i the loft though, so I am going to source them and ask mum if we can put them in hers (our hatch is two small)

scattyspice · 29/01/2009 08:27

Morning IV - thanks for thread - I too could do with a gardening thing - DH does alot of it - mailny as I don't know where to start.

TMH - Sorry you had a bad night - cramp is an awful thing - can totally understand how it made you scream - I haven't decided about coffin yet - do know I want to be cremated though. Don't buy your coffin yet - if it is cardboard it will have biodegraded by the time you will need it

Morning Scatty & Shannara hope you both have a good day.

running out of time to get stuff done this morning before going to toddler group.
need to be out of the house in 20 minutes
and have to do everything.

DWasher
Wmachine
Beds
Bathrooms

Mum here for lunch

so am putting it all off by being on here..

swanriver · 29/01/2009 09:27

Hello IV, Greyskull, TMH Shannaratiger and Scatty
Cramp is awful awful TMH
Good morning so far, children in excellent spirits. They are now at school.
I was awake bright and early, (except that it is dark at that time - hadn't really noticed it before ) Dh went at 5.45 to a trade fair in Europe till Sat. I'm in charge! He goes about 4 times a year for a week or sometimes less and I'm hoping it will go even more smoothly with new routines in place

To do.
routines
ironing first or it will never get done and ironing pile seems to have swallowed up all my clothes.
Then to work at 10.45
Then back home to re-charge pm.

After lunch today I want to TRY to do 10 more mins in boxroom,
get ladder and do mission, and then sort out condiments/spice cupboard in kitchen for 20 mins.

BiancaCastafiore · 29/01/2009 09:33

Morning

Tort has just sent me a text to say she's home (she stayed in last night in the end). She's a bit sore but not as bad as yesterday.

Thanks for the trhead IV

I really enjoy my garden but don't really have a clue what I'm doing in it - I just do what I feel and it sometimes works out A FLY garden list would be good

TMH sorry about the cramp - painful.
Shanna, Scatty Greyskull enjoy your mornings

I have got over being upset by the neighbour. It's not the first time we've bene on the recievning end of her moods. I think this is mostly really over the fact that I didn't phone her at her sons while she's been away but I refuse to feel guilty about it (well, I'm trying anyway...)

I still have dd at home poorly so am finding I'm not getting a whole lot done around the house.

I've done my morning routines - I just need to wipe round the kitchen quickly.
Then I hope to~
change the beds
tidy upstairs
hoover upstairs (if I can around dd sleeping)
clean bathroom
mission
sort through a little chest of drawers in living room (I have no idea what lurks in there)

Back later x

BiancaCastafiore · 29/01/2009 09:33

x-posts, hi swan

TheMadHouse · 29/01/2009 10:05

Hi All

Back from Aldi's and all put away (this ususally takes ages with mother in tow
Washer on (dishcloths)
Swept downstairs
Breakfast pots washed
Cleaned up smoothie juice spill - DS2

The reason we wanted to get the coffins early - is that we like the thought of gettiong plain ones and getting the DS's and us to have a mad decorating day on them - which would be fun and then they hold happy memory's. Also eco friendly less expensive £280 each - rather than £1000's. It is something to consider when and if we have any spare cash.

galen · 29/01/2009 10:06

Mornin all!
ivc thanks for thread
mad sorry bout bad night - hope you get chance for some reat today
bianca / swan /ivcI used to love my gardening too, till it turned into a jungle, and now it just seems overwhelming! Think I may try and come up with some sort of list/babysteps approach to start when weather imnproves!
swan treacle scones - easy peasy - sound yummy, thanks! LOL
oh and mad year away very boring really, DH got a job down in Hereford - so we moved down there, but after a year of trying and failing to sell our house (4 sales fell through grrrr) we couldn't afford to stay on ,(were renting but still paying mortgage) so DH had to find another job back up north and we moved back LOL (horrible year, very stressful actually, but all settled back here now!)

Oh and wendy (from yesterday) I LOVE my slow cooker. Use it about 2-3 times a week. Not very creative with what I do in it, but it so great to get everything on in the morning, then just serve up in the evening when it's chaos and everyone is tired!

So have managed to sort fridges, freezers and cupboards for big shopping delivery this am
morning stuff done
kids to school
Not much else.
Me and DD4 full of cold still, dd on sofa with quilt looking sad,
May not get much done today....DD needs hugging - lots!
will see how I go!

TheMadHouse · 29/01/2009 10:14

galen where abouts do yu live now? We are meeting in york soon if thats anywhere near?

Oh and the boys Godparents live in hereford - lovey if not expensive place

grouchyoscar · 29/01/2009 10:16

Hello Lovely FLYpals

Stil haven't caught up with the threads. Missed all the stuff about Tort's op so I hope it went well and she is not a sore tortoise.

DH did get up and do the morning routines! He's clearing out the cellar head ATM. Poor lad needs another contract bless him

I've made an appointment to see the post graduate carreers head at Huddersfield Uni next week. I'm going to do it if they want me. Ed is at school now and I've had a 12 year stasis of doing anything significant. May as well stop wasting myself and get a move on.

Better get going. I'm dinnerladying again today (Yes it's very hard work. Boris was not impressed at all )

swanriver · 29/01/2009 10:22

Grouchy what was your career path before Ed? I am just interested because I think often it boomerangs back in a new form after children (am I mixing my metaphors) they change everything and make us realise we are even better at some things than ever..

grouchyoscar · 29/01/2009 10:32

Well Galen I just wanred ro do a degree tbh. Then the week after I graduated I ended up temping for a building society and eventually became employed by the resulting bank. Then there was Ed. Never a path, more of an ill defined goat track . On my year out of the course I did a lot of work with kids and enjoyed that so, yeah, it is cyclical I suppose.

I'm a good communicator, good at signposting people, like kids. I know I can do it TBH

swanriver · 29/01/2009 10:38

You seem like a brilliant communicator, and organised as well.

TheMadHouse · 29/01/2009 12:15

OK - lunches out of the way and the mess tidied up

DS2 napping - I hope

DS1 refusing to get out of school uniform

I have wiped down the doors and windows in the conservatory - I seem to have to do this daily due to grubby finger prints.

Now just waiting for mum to call re collection from hospital

galen · 29/01/2009 12:46

mad we are in Rotherham now. A meet up sounds lovely, but York may be a bit far with littlies in tow, with school runs as well.Hope you all have a lovely day though.

All sounding very organised this morning.
grouchy you sound really positive about the career stuff. Go for it. I am kind of sad my career died ( although it was never really the right career for me, and never regret deciding to be a SAHM) but I'd love to find something else to do in a few years (not really possible to get back into what I did before)

Well not done much this morning. Snuggled lots with very poorly DD4 mostly. She is now aslep on the sofa - never happens normally!
DS2 still asleep too so house is strangely quiet.
Did mean I got my big shopping delivery put away in peace. Glad I had delivery today and wasn't going to aldi as DD wouldn't have been well enough - so at least we have food now!

need to:
make dinner (tuna pasta bake)
put clean washing away
Sort swimming stuff for tomorrow( although looks as if we may have to postpone again unless dd is better)
House looking fairly reasonable so will just take it easy this afternoon I think

Have good afternoons all
BBL!

galen · 29/01/2009 12:49

grouchy just wanted to say that I'm not sure about the doing nothing significant for 12 years, it sounds to me as if you do a LOT that IS SIGNIFICANT - not least of which is being a brilliant mum!

intravenouscoffee · 29/01/2009 12:54

Just sitting down with a coffee to work out what I have and haven't done.

Need to do the mission and bake some muffins (yummy) while DD is asleep. She's v tired and grumpy today after racing around madly for most of yesterday so I'm hoping she'll have a decent nap.

GO Sounds v exciting. Keep us posted when you've seen the careers head.
Mad My patio doors are plastered with little paw prints. Am considering covering them in cling film and peeling it off at the end of the day
Bianca Thanks for keeping us updated on Tort. Glad you're feeling better about the grumpy neighbour.

Right, will go and achieve while DD is still dozing.

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 29/01/2009 12:56

afternoon all galen the meet up is on a Saturday if that helps at all. We are planning to go to the railway museum to keep the kids happy.

mad thanks for the offer of help, i had a call from the police that they have done naff all about burglary so was in foul mood - nowt that can be done to fix it really but they will be getting a piece of my mind when they dare to phone me back.

done

made bed
took ds to nursery
submitted meter readings - apparently there is a problem with them again despite the new meter they fitted grrrrr.
Finished and submitted another job application.

Off to the local Leonard Cheshire home this eve after work to talk to them about volunteering and see if I have any skills they can use. Will post when I get home.

Meeting beckons bbl.

BiancaCastafiore · 29/01/2009 14:21

Very slow progress today..

change the beds done, just need clean bedding on dds bed
tidy upstairs half-done
hoover upstairs next
clean bathroom
mission
sort through a little chest of drawers in living room (I have no idea what lurks in there) done and several other hotspots too

Got cross with dd at lunchtime; meal times are sooooo stressful atm. Why won't my children just eat?!

Think we'll have tuna pasta bake for supper too Galen - how do you make yours?

swanriver · 29/01/2009 14:40

Well that mission was a MISTAKE. Have covered livingroom in dust and the path in pink feathers.
Think I'll leave it to settle.
DONE IRONING and work
try the spices next.

swanriver · 29/01/2009 15:07

Done spices condiments cupboard.

Ironing upstairs, hoover downstairs then SCHOOL
