swanriver · 28/01/2009 09:25

Not a very good morning so far as had to leave dd crying at the schoolgate - she did NOT want to get dressed and did NOT want to go to school. Fingers crossed we are not in for another long run of this..But I did feel able to deal with much better - not getting cross helps, and trying to be responsive to whatever was making her fedup whilst remaining firm. (I think she finds school exhausting because she works very hard, and is very attentive/ tries to please friends and teachers)
Top of house is looking pretty good, dust still lurks in living room, boxroom is a tiny bit better (10 mins everyday is WORKING)and kitchen is usual raggletagglegypsy'o (but fine really)

So Now TO DO
Kerbside recycling put out
remake wet bed
wash sheets
Morning routine: beds, s&s, dw, table, next batch of laundry, put away dry clothes

THEN IRONING

Hello Hunnybun. It will work don't worry.
Hello IV
Hello Greyskull hope meeting is bearable. Sometimes these events just use up one's phial of adrenalin.

wendythepositivethinker · 28/01/2009 09:29

Thanks for the thread Mad
Morning all
Good luck at the meeting Greyskull
Just having a minute before deciding what to do today. DS at nursery and have managed to persuade Grandma to pick him up and take him out this afternoon, the poor thing is so bored as DD has been ill with viruses for nearly two weeks, we haven't been out in the afternoon for all that time. Last night she slept really fitfully til 10 pm when I went up she was distraught had had a nose bleed! Quite a bit of blood. She was up til 11.30 when i finally got her to sleep, bless her. So another early night gone by the wayside. Think I've managed one night before midnight in the last week.
Feeling very tired as a consequence.
Might go to Lidl this morning if she stops being miserable for long enough Haven't even done a menu plan this week yet
Might tackle the kitchen today. DH gets paid tomorrow so can stop worrying about money for a few weeks as well! We are seriously broke lately and the savings are dwindling
I probably should go back to work
See you all later

Jas · 28/01/2009 09:36

Morning all Greyskull - I've missed meeting/anxiety I think. I hope it goes ok for you

Tort I hope not to see you on here today, and that the op goes ahead....

Hunnybun - It does work, but takes a little time. Stick with it.

TMH - Thanks for the thread. I hope you are ok today. Lots of good ideas on your other thread. I get stuck at books, board games, and lots of very time-consuming snacks. I can remember giving dd1 a pomegranate and a pin....it kept her busy for ages

Hello everyone else

I need a list today. Sorry.

Errands
Ring Ikea
Check bank
Pay tax
Look after neighbours ds for an hour
Don't forget two extra kids for school run!!
Help at brownies....take food colouring and old uniform
Downstairs
Empty dishwasher
Empty w/m and find somewhere to hang contents
Put away clean and dry stuff
Mop floor
Hoover
Wipe table
Make bed
Upstairs
Mend broken blind
Change dd2s bed?
Clean floor
Clean shower

There is more that needs doing....I will add as I remember.

swanriver · 28/01/2009 09:39

P.S. Hunnybun, if you go to babysteps you are supposed to follow them through from beginning, one day at a time, without rushing ahead too much. You don't have to sign up to Flylady if you don't want to just follow the guidelines on this thread!
Missions are meant for people who have completed babysteps and are keeping on top of decluttered house. Zone cleaning is a way of rotating tasks/rooms so that you never have to spring clean, and if you don't do them, the Zone will come round again so you don't need to worry.

Morning routine is a short list of things to do every morning as is evening routine. Very short, like dress, beds, washingup, bins floor sweep, laundry on, clean clothes away. Evening might be, washingup, shiny sink clear worktops, laundry, clothes out for tomorrow, tidy (10 mins) livingroom before early bed. That means you quickly get on with everything before going out with baby/kids, go to work etc, and ditto night before.

Wendy, I was thinking through MealPlanning thing and I've realised that as long as I have a lot of storecupboard ingredients and long keepers (potatoes, onions, cheese)and am on site, I can usually think of meals very easily to do that day as long as it's a few hours in advance. We go through fruit at such an alarming rate that I or dh still have to nip to shops at least three times a week. I'm also finding that I can put half what I cooked in freezer (pasta sauce, soup, casserole)which means even less formal mealplanning on paper.

That's a good list Jas.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/01/2009 09:56

Hello

I have heard from Tort; she's at the hospital waiting for surgery which should go ahead by late morning She's been told she may have to stay in over-night tonight as she shouldn't go home to an empty house which is not something she'd planned to happen She'll update me later hopefully.

Thanks for the thread TMH
Sending calming thoughts your way Greyskull x

I've had a nasty phone call from our neighbour this morning which has left me feeling upset. She's been away (in hosp initially then staying at her sons) for about 5/6 weeks and just came home on Monday. The kids rushed to welcome her home and she shut the door on them....and has now phoned this morning to have a go at me for not ringing her while she's been away and for pruning a tree which overhangs from our garden into hers (we pruned some branches which went into her garden thinking it was doing her a favour - we've talked about it to her before and she's said to do it anytime...) She was quite nasty and it's left me v tearful.
I'm run down enough right now with this heavy cold and dd being up all night coughing etc without having to deal with her moods again.

I did todays missons yeaterday but need to give downstairs some attention generally so will crack on for a bit.

Back later I hope x

wendythepositivethinker · 28/01/2009 10:04

Yes Swan thanks, I agree - I just like to have it all written down a week in advance, so I don't have to think day to day and can just work on auto pilot. It stresses me when I don't know what I'm doing. Also I find if I know in advance I can prep night before or whatever and also I need to know if I have to be home half an hour before tea or whatever, to put the oven on. Need to use the slow cooker more. In the old house we had room for it on the worktop, here it's in a cupboard and I haven't really made much use of it. perhaps I'll use it this week!

To do
Wash up from breakfast
Washing out of machine on airers
more washing in
Go to Lidl buy fruit/veg
menu planner
book yoga
phone mum
play with dd!
room rescue kitchen!
Sweep and mop kitchen floor (see you did yours Galen!)
Vac round in playroom
Room rescue living room/dc bedroom
Make bed
Make dinner
Pay credit card/rent online banking
put away sorted through outgrown clothes
still got box of sorted stuff to put away from living room clear out!

Better crack on then!

wendythepositivethinker · 28/01/2009 10:06

Poor Bianca it's awful when you're not on top form when people are nasty. Hope you're ok

galen · 28/01/2009 10:16

Morning all
mad thanks for thread
swan sorry to hear your DD was upset. Hope she has a good day
greyskull yay for calm morning, good luck at meeting
wendy hope you dd picks up soon and you get some rest. Know what you mean about money! Dh got paid today - big relief LOL - well for a couple of weeks anyway!
ruby if you find out where the hours go let me know. Reckon I need at least an extra 3 or 4 a day!
jas good list!
bianca sorry youre still feeling rough - hope neighbour thing blows over soon

everyoneelse hi!
and thinking of tort....

Woke up full of cold this morning, as are Ds2 and dd4. Also exhausted - really overdid it yesterday - bum!
Going to take it easy today.
May skip craft toddlers depending on how DS and DD are later....

Done:
Morning routine
Kids to school
Dinner in slow cooker
DD 1 and 2's clothes away
Dd1 and 2's beds stripped, bedding washed - now drying
WM reloaded and on

To do:
remake DD1 and 2's beds
Clean washing away
Hoover lounge
Sort out fridge and freezer before shopping delivery tomorrow
Chuck out dead flowers from lounge and kitchen!

may need to let DD watch DVD for a bit - she is looking a bit sad and tired... may veg on sofa with her......

Have good mornings all
BBL

I'm glad toert is getting the op today. Can she sort out overnight for the dds?

swanriver · 28/01/2009 11:44

Fantastic Jas.

Still sort of dithering about next lightening move. Shops, postoffice and then ironing I think.

Out.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/01/2009 11:51

Torts dds are already sorted overnight for a few days. The dog is home alone though and she just doesn't really fancy being stuck in hosp overnight. Hopefully something will work out; she was going to try to get hold of a friend who may be able to help so fingers crossed she'll be OK. I'll let you know.

I have given the living room a good hoover and done a quick run round the rest of the house.

Bit tired so aam going to have a Lemsip and see how I feel once that kicks in

Dh and I are having a very low patch. I'm wondering about booking a family long weekend away over half-term but we don't have the £...do I go for it on the credit card in the hope a change of scene will help us out of this rut or do we save the £ and stay at home?

TheMadHouse · 28/01/2009 12:20

Bianca You neigbours sounds very cantankerous. Dont let her get to you. I would book the break away.

God - I have forgot evertthing again - my brain isnt working well ATM.

I hope things workout for Tort

We have been swimming, had lunch and now to drop off mother and DS1.

DS2's ear hurts and if it gets any worse I will ring the GP - I think it could just be teething though. It really bothered him in the baths.

I have another load of washing in and another to go in
Dryer is on
Washing is also hung everywhere in the house.

I hung it out and then it bloody rained!!!

OP posts:
scattyspice · 28/01/2009 12:49

Hi all.

Bianca at your neighbour, mines a bit like that, is she elderly (could it be early dementia?)

swan your dd was upset (sounds like you handled it well though).

Hope tort is ok.

To do
dentist
laundry (bedding)
book dds party
sort paperwork pile
ds homework,

Had a breakthrough last night: DS went to gym club, was happy for dh to leave him and had a great time! Its the first time we've been able to leave him anywhere except school or nursery!
