Save £ in some other way (over next few months) and go Bianca. Do you think that a break from the house is the key, or from kids or from familiar surroundings? Sometimes dh was even worse on hol or maybe I was, but def helps to have someone else cooking cleaning? And a lovely view to inspire good emotions.

Shopping done, not quite as speedy as I'd hoped. Too much planning I fear. Long gruesome queue of ladies like your neighbour Bianca in Post Office. Very nice old lady in Morrison conversing with me about kipper fillets tho'.
In my head have now menu planned and bought for another 3 days!

PUT AWAY
and then out to work in nicer clothes.

intravenouscoffee · 28/01/2009 13:13

Wow - busy on here today. Everyone seems to be achieving lots.

Bianca Sounds like you need a break. Any chance you could go away for a night (or 2) just you and DH, maybe somewhere nearby? Might keep costs down and give you both some time to be a couple rather than parents. Am hoping DH and I can sort something similar in the next few months as I'm aware that I'm being a bit insufferable at the mo and think a quick break from being 'mummy' might help. As for the neighbour, I'm not surprised you're upset. Try not to let it get to you - easier said than done I know.

Right, DD is having a nap and things seem to be ticking over (hurray). Still need to make vegie lasagne for dinner but will have a coffee first and admire my lounge which is looking much improved after a few days of missions.

Wolfcub · 28/01/2009 13:33

afternoon all

I acheived nothing this morning except making the bed and putting a couple of items of washing away

bianca book the break, unless increased credit card debt would cause more friction. Getting away often helps us to remember that there is more to our relationship than daily drudgerry and fighting!

Fingers crossed that tort is ok and she manages to find someone to look in on the dog

jas good idea about the keys, I always have a spare set at my mum's just in case

BiancaCastafiore · 28/01/2009 16:19

tort is though the op and has arranged for a friend to stay with her tonight if she's allowed home She's tired and sore but OK.

I might book a break...not sure about the £ though.... Will have to talk to dh about it later (which means I have to actually talk to him..not something we do a whole lot of atm)

swanriver · 28/01/2009 16:30

I know tht feeling Bianca, sometimes its easier not to talk, in case you bite each other's head off - which in turn leads to further miscommun... Dh is going away for a few days on business, and we will have lovely chats on phone as there is nothing to fall out over

scattyspice · 28/01/2009 16:49

Boris is/has complained a fair bit, what can I say, his owner is popular Well I've put myself to bed and DH will do tomorrow morning.

I'm covering for an absent dinner lady for the rest of the week. Tomorrow I am going to explore some of the possibilities brought up by the careers adviser yesterday. She suggested some Post Grad training opportunities at the local uni. Seems my experience would fit. I'm very excited by this.

So......Do I want to be a teacher? Could I do it? Would I acheive?

swanriver · 28/01/2009 18:10

Tea cooked and eaten as planned with only few mutations..
Had two friends round for dcs and played nicely.
Did dcs homework
and vp

Dd is getting ready for beavers now and I'm off to help.

Dh is in charge now!

How are you finding dinner ladying Grouchy? One of most testing jobs by the evidence of our dinner ladies..(Who are a bit like that old lady in Madgascar 2)
I am now completely in awe of teachers, it requires saintly patience and planning.

galen · 28/01/2009 18:19

Evening all.
Brain a bit frazzled so cant remember much sorry!
swan yep the lounge flowers were from DH, kitchen was a bunch of daffs I treated myself to! Do you really have flowers in your garden at this time of year? The garden's on my list to tackle this year. I had it quite nice but then we moved away for a year (long story) and it was a jungle when we came back and have never really got on top of it since...Does Flylady do a garden rescue plan LOL
grouchy impressive list! definately take it easy for a while now.I would have loved to have been a teacher I think. DH is a teacher though and assures me I wouldn't LOL I think I may do some sort of teaching assistant job when all kids are at school as my own career died round about DC no.4 LOL

So got on OK today. Still feel a bit grim with cold though, and DD4 not great....
Done:
d1 and 2 bed made
Clean washing away
Baked muffins with DD4
Craft toddlers - both DS and DD really enjoyed it
school pick up
Home - dinner - cleared
Lunchboxes done
clothes out for littlies

To do:
Shine sink
Lol on sofa!
Early night

Tomorrow
Sort fridge and cupboard before BIG shopping delivery
sort swimming stuff for friday
general tidy
buy new (cheap!) flowers for lounge as per Fridays mission ( no time on Fri - easier to nip to shop tomorrow!)

Have good evenings all
see you tomorrow

PS swan was it you that made treacle scones ? Do you have recipe? They sound lovely!

scattyspice · 28/01/2009 19:03

GO I think you'd make a great teacher . Do you mean promary or secondary? (if secondary, don't watch Waterloo Rd lol). I would not have been a good teacher. I like working with people (my patients) one to one. Any more than 1 at a time and I panic!

All done. Just need to get these 2 off to bed.

TheMadHouse · 28/01/2009 19:56

Groucy I think you would make a great teacher, espcially with all the additional bits you do with Ed

galen you can not say things like we went away for a year and not explain

Boys are playing up tonight - still not in bed asleep, they keep coming downstairs - I am bewildered as to what has happened they always went to bed so well

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 28/01/2009 20:17

evening all

am pissed off and slightly drunk

glad tort is through her op ok

grouchy I also think you would make a fantastic teacher - but as the daughter of a teacher I have to say bloody hard and demanding job that can take over your entire life if you let it - definitely the sort of career where you have to set strict boundaries for yourself. Our local school is very nice by the way if you want a job and kirklees have an amazing graduate teacher training programme with pay of about 17k just during the training phase

done fark all as too pee'd off - intend to eat, get drunker and watch the two gobshites on masterchef

swanriver · 28/01/2009 20:51

Yes Galen I want a garden rescue plan, just a little job to do every day. Today your mission is to oil the secatures, and yesterday if you failed to do that one on the right day, was to throw away all the old seed packets that you were keeping for doomsday scenario. And your zone is the PATIO.

Scones, just add 2 tblspoons of (warmed) treacle to milk when making scones to usual recipe and a bit of mixed spice.
