DS did not want a lie in this morning so I have lost out on the one DP promised me.

I have brought ds downstairs and he is playing with bricks and watching cbeebies.

I've done the usual quick put away in the living room and kitchen and now I'm going to MN while I have a cuppa.

Not planning on much today
Will try and get out for some fresh air as actually not raining here.

Slept late. Good but now even more disorganised . We were watching a bit of S OF M last night Galen. It never fails to enthrall. Now I just watch it for the Captain's oneliners.
dd is getting into her ballet clothes, we are off in a minute for the DOT TO DOT saturday fun. ballet, violin, music, party, swimming. I don't have to think about anything really except what is for lunch. Not sure still.

Hello Wolfcub, and EHM and Hunnybun.

Spiderplant · 24/01/2009 09:32

morning all

I have a lovley lie in, DH has done all the morning routine, including popping the washer on.

We are going to pop out and have a bracing walk at the seaside and also visit the £1shop.

DH has some work to do so we will copme back for that whilst I play with the boys

We also need to paint the hall - I did the filling yesterday - so really could so with picking up some sandpaper.

EV Welcome back I like that name - is it like slipping on a well fitting dress.

Anyway - where are you Luda, Bianca and Jas - hopefully RL is far too interesting come and update us

galen · 24/01/2009 13:09

Afternoon all

For some reason DH is being abnormally nice to me LOL ( flowers last night, got up with DD's today...) and now he has taken all the kids out for fresh air for an hour to give me a break!! ( think he's trying to make up for the whole garage thing, and the fact I told him I felt unappreciated and taken for granted LOL)
Really should make a start on blitzing DS 1 's room - would be an ideal time to do it.... but you know what I'm gonna do instead? I'm going to bed with my book, a cuppa and a chocolate scone!!!

Morning routine done, lunch done and cleared, several loads of washing done, general chaos fended off so I don't feel too guilty!!

See you later!

EustaciaVye · 24/01/2009 14:03

Hi All. One birthday party down, one to go. Sigh.

swan - I used to live in Green Gables.

Hope you are all ok.

TheMadHouse · 24/01/2009 14:10

Hi All

galen Rest and a book sounds nice

I have just done my daughterly duty and took mum into town after our seaside walk. We also let the boys have ice cream with monkey blood (rasberry sauce). It was nice

DS2 is napping and DS2 is on the wii with daddy.

I am going to cover the achieve boxes with some cheep wrapping paper I got and make a start on their memory boxes.

grouchyoscar · 24/01/2009 14:10

Hello All

Thanks for the support yesterday, as always. Ed has calmed down since I curtailed TV and console game time. He played with Lego and read a book no problems . I try to get him to do 10-15 mins school related activities (known as 'homework ) 4-5 times a week. I think he finds school too easy and I don't want him to get bored with it so I try and get him to stretch himself IYKWIM.

Been to the hospital, had my scans (external and ... internal ) and now I need an x-ray, ho hum. At least I have a vague idea of what is going on (I think)

Met the boys at the barbers, Ed now looks like a member of the Bay City Rollers , just waiting for it to grow into a (adopt thick scouse accent) 'cracking barnet' now.

DH still managing to annoy. Football Day so at 12 he withdraws from life and starts getting twitchy/jumpy until the BIL arrives and nothing, but nothing must delay the departure. FGS it an old money 3rd division match! Gone are the days of post 4th round FA Cup games

Ed has gone to his cousin's 9th Birthday party so I have the house to myself. I may just sit on my bum and do v little. Bet I don't tho.

Thanks for everything ladies X

Spiderplant · 24/01/2009 14:44

I am Luda...just changed my name mad

Spent all morning in the garden doing a general tidy up...looks much better now. I'm getting my planters ready for veg this year

swanriver · 24/01/2009 14:47

Dd is off to a party too now EV. Present wrapped. Is EV a book character, Anne?

Everyone is being a bit fractious but generally containable..DH has agreed to cut down on Ninetendo DS time with kids on Sats and they are finding it quite difficult to know what to do. Which sort of proves it needs rationing . Twins seem to have lost ability to play with each other when they used to play so sweetly.

Lunch pie made and eaten, and cleared away.

Now I'm taking boys on a walk to library to return some books and clear their heads.

And then swimming even Mr Snotty.

grouchyoscar · 24/01/2009 15:22

EV I thought you were FGS?

Spiderplant is Luda yes?

Bianca is Bianca?

oh, I get confused

TheMadHouse · 24/01/2009 15:25

Confused - I have never been confused

Well I have covered the boxes and am now high as a kite from the fumes

TD is on

I need to iron
Start on the contents of said boxes
Wake up DS2

wendythepositivethinker · 24/01/2009 16:19

hello everyone

Having a good day today ! 15 minutes.
Had a bit of a sort out in the garage for half an hour, just a tidy really and a few bits chucked out or sorted into charity box, but superficially looks a bit better, you can walk through the garage!
About to start on the living room. Baked potatoes in oven for tea. Made bread for lunch earlier, been to yoga, done some puzzles with children, picked up some bits in town, been to the library - quite productive actually!

Had kept up that Luda was Spider, now on it with EV and Anne ... anyone else?

Off to clean living room

wendythepositivethinker · 24/01/2009 16:21

Return of the Native, isn't it, Eustacia Vye? Thomas Hardy. Exotic and beautiful young woman, is that you, Anne?

grouchyoscar · 24/01/2009 17:09

DONE

Made our bed
Dusted the bedroom
Cleaned the bathroom
Cleaned the Loo
Cleaned the worksurfaces
Emptied DW
Put away
Emptied WM
Sort for drying
Take up to dry
Brfing down damp washing
Hang up wet washing
Load TD and run
Vac front room
Tidy and get Ed's table etc ready
Shine sink

Not bad for a day of very little

Boys still out, proper Me time now

swanriver · 24/01/2009 17:13

Went to library and now at swimming pool ifyswim not actually in pool. Public library makes me want to do homework - lots and lots of it.

Dh has chopped up Xmas tree at last, and found the equipment in shed easily - a first, usually there is grumbling and rumbling. Hope your hall is going well TMH.

Wendy and Anne I have not read R of TN. I should.

swanriver · 24/01/2009 17:16

IFYSWIM that's rather a good way of describing a swim that was a bit too cold for my liking

EustaciaVye · 24/01/2009 17:54

Grouchy - I was that name too. FGS, I change too often

Read about EV here

Read about AoA here

wendythepositivethinker · 24/01/2009 18:05

Return of the Native is fab - best Hardy novel imho
Anne of Green Gables series my favourite childhood novels, read them a zillion times and watched the tv series lots too!
Must read more should be my mantra! I manage about a novel a week these days, used to be loads more. Life gets in the way!
Living room is coming on. It was SO dusty in there and is full of crap. Filled two boxes with stuff to put away it'll take me hours to put it all away. Is it me or is that always the easy bit, finding the stuff and really hard to get round to putting it away!
Had tea now. DC playing together and then bath, will try and do more living room. Am ashamed of the state of it, it hasn't been cleaned since before the Xmas decs went up, 1st December!

dylsmum1998 · 24/01/2009 18:18

evening everyone.
i finally made it to the charity shop with half the stuff i had sorted.
and posted my parcel.
i have another 4 big bags of things to go to the charity shop and 2 smaller ones. so need to try again tomorrow, hopefully all will be gone then.

i also ordered a new bed for ds as his is broken, and a new matress for me as the springs have been coming through for about 2 years, so really do need one.

took ds to his dads.
was really annoyed when i went to get dd to take her to the party. really do not understand why her dad coudlnt take her, its his weekend with her. but must admit i really enjoyed myself once there the other mums were really nice. (i'd not met any of them before, was an invite from her nursery friend).
so have forgiven him a little now.
dropped her back off to his house and have come home and cleared out dd's wardrobe, found loads of clothes that still fit but she hasnt worn for ages cos they get shoved to the inaccessible end, so have rotated so she gets to wear them.
also sorted all the bits piled in the bottom of her wradrobe as well as bottom of mine. so looking much better. need to sort the piles of stuff i dont want that are in the middle of the bedroom. its getting there in our room can see the improvement already

wendythepositivethinker · 24/01/2009 18:29

Sounds like you've been busy dylsmum and had a good sort out.
I forgot about my parcel to the friend's child AGAIN. Better post it on Monday. She's a very good friend though and won't be bothered about it!
DC in bath, little bit more living room done. Vacuuming now and sorting dc's bookshelves.
