A red wash or a lights wash?

Do the colours mix?

And aren't the trousers a bizarre size

Triousers- veryu bizarre yes (ex Rainbow Guider LOL)

Everyone used tosay that

They aklso used to say 'I wish I hadn't put the uniform in with the whites because I now have lots of pinks'

the answer lies therein

Surfermum · 22/01/2009 21:40

Oh thank you Peachy!

I've just realised I didn't really ask what I meant to (sorry, wine).

The shirt in particular is what I meant to ask about - in with the reds or not?

This is very embarrassing. I had obviously had way too much wine last night. Anyway I am bumping this thread and will ask the question properly:

What wash do you wash the Rainbow t-shirt in. In with the reds because of the sleeves or in with the lights because of the pale blue?

DumbledoresGirl · 23/01/2009 09:37

No I washed the shirt with other blue shirts (of which we have loads as all my children go to schools with pale blue polo shirts as the uniform).

I don't remember any dye leaking.

nailpolish · 23/01/2009 09:38

in this house we have 4 washes

whites
bright colours
pale colours
black

i put rainbow stuff in the bright colours

if i waited for a load of red stuff id be waiting all year...

whoops · 23/01/2009 09:38

I'm going to watch this as dd is starting rainbows next week!

Surfermum · 23/01/2009 09:39

See? Ask the question properly and you get the information you need .

Thank you DG! I shall put it in the lights load.

they only wear it for one hour a week so it doesnt exactly need washed very often anyway

Surfermum · 23/01/2009 09:40

We have red polos for school and I wear lots of red, but I also put reds in with the pinks.

OP posts:
DumbledoresGirl · 23/01/2009 09:41

NP no dds then? Apart from the fact 3 of mine have maroon sweatshirts as school uniform, I always have one red/pink wash a week as dd has so much pink stuff. I also stick any browns in with them too, and purples (me).

kando · 23/01/2009 09:41

I wash the tshirt in with the colours. Trousers and hoodie always go in with the darks.

Surfermum · 23/01/2009 09:41

Yes that's what I was hoping Nailpolish! Except I stupidly let her eat her tea in it when she got home and she's a bit of a messy one.

I'm not sounding very bright on this thread am I .

wilbur · 23/01/2009 09:42

Thank you for this thread, surfermum - was just about to wash dd's Rainbow top for the first time (and gawd knows she'd be furious if it came out spoiled!)

DumbledoresGirl · 23/01/2009 09:42

God how thick am I? NP, you must have at least one dd otherwise you wouldn't be washing rainbow uniforms. Ignore me.

TsarChasm · 23/01/2009 09:42

Careful with the Rainbows clothing I found it shrank a bit and I'm quite careful with washing as a rule.

Agree, no need to wash too often though.

kando · 23/01/2009 09:43

DG - you're not in south Hampshire are you? My dds wear pale blue polo shirts and dd1 (at junior school) has a maroon cardigan! [And the t-shirt doesn't get washed that often either!]

Surfermum · 23/01/2009 09:44

You're welcome wilbur!

Whoops - have you bought uniform yet? Take her with you when you do as the trouser sizes are bizarre. The large nearly fitted me length wise!!

OP posts:
nailpolish · 23/01/2009 09:46

no we dont have much red in this house
lots of pink though which goes in the brights (dark pink) or pales (pale pink)

nailpolish · 23/01/2009 09:46

the trousers are so annoying
massive at the waist and too short

my dd has half mast trousers with a safety pin at the waist

DumbledoresGirl · 23/01/2009 09:47

Kando, no! I was brought up in Winchester but I live in Gloucestershire now.

Actually, I have quite often come across the pale blue and maroon combo for school uniforms. It must be popular. Does yours come with navy trousers and skirts too? They are the real bind as no-one seems to sell navy trousers.

whoops · 23/01/2009 09:47

No haven't got uniform yet! Am waiting to see if she goes through the door first
She should be ok as she love school, she won't even let me take her into the classroom anymore
How much uniform do you have to buy?

nailpolish · 23/01/2009 09:49

whoops you only need one top and one pair of trousers. they only wear them for an hour a week...

Surfermum · 23/01/2009 09:51

We were asked to buy at least a shirt by the time she did her promise. I hung on for the rest until Christmas and she had the rest of it from her auntie.

OP posts:
DumbledoresGirl · 23/01/2009 09:59

Surfermum, my dd attended Rainbows for a year before they got round to doing her promise. And that was on the last day of the spring term and also the day before she turned 7 and so it was her last ever Rainbow meeting as she had to move up to Brownies!

(I did buy her the uniform straightaway though as I knew she would love Rainbows as indeed she did).

Surfermum · 23/01/2009 10:01

Really? Dd did hers after about 4 weeks!
