morning all
am still desperately clinging on to the side of the fly wagon!!
i have a day off today so am tryin to get something done.
i also need to go to my nans to take her shopping.

done so far
quick tidy through
got up
got dressed
made ds lunch
put away last nights dishes

need to do
sort dry washing
iron
unload washer
reload washer
hoover
dust
s&s bathroom
mission
get dd up and dressed
get ds to school

will see how i get on with that little lot before attemoting to add more.

we went to ikea at the weekend and bought a big unit and lots of 'grown-up' looking storge boxes for ds's room.
we had a massive clear out of his room. its lookin much better now, just need to sort out whats left under his bed.
this has had a massive affect on the rest of the flat as have had to re-arrange to accomodate the computer desk that has come out of his room as it no longer fits.
have also used his old storage to try and organise dd's stuff so am trying to get that finished. as well as keeping on top of uni work and not neglecting the dc, so very busy but can see light at end of tunnel, its just very small at the mo!!

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2009 07:46

I see a pattern emerging regarding Bosh diswahers I think

Plans for today are:

DS2 and me swimming
back for lunch
Take Mum home
Whats for dinner - pizza (request from DS1) so must remember to put the dough on

EHM · 14/01/2009 08:06

mad thanks for thread. I too think there maybe a link with the Bosch our broke originally when it was 6 months old & cost £90 to repair that was in 2001. It started going wonky just before Xmas & then died on me this week. I am not sure how long they should last. I going to look at Hotpoint.
grouchylovely for DH to say to Ed
Galen glad you had visit from sis & you felt good about house.
dylsmum sounds like you been very busy.
shann love ds typing, enjoy music.

Right Preschool this morning for DD. Must finished getting dressed. Slept in this morning didn't get up until 720

BiancaCastafiore · 14/01/2009 08:39

Morning

We had a Bosch for 12 years before we had any trouble with it so replaced it with another. 12 years being run at least 5 times a week is pretty good going imo.

I have been awake in the night feeling ill - I made the mistake of eating cheesecake at the weekend and it gave me a migraine (used to get them from anything cream-cheesy but haven't had one for several years) which has lingered on and off since then making me feel queasy on and off too. Last night was the worst so hopefully it'll get better today. I think this may be partly why I was feeling weepy yest.
Dh has made a fuss about getting the kids up and out to school so I know I've put him out by being ill He and I aren't seeing eye to eye at all atm

I have a supermarket delivery coming late morning so need to clean the fridge. I blitzed the bathroom yesterday but need to sort a cupboard we have in there so will try to do that in a bit too
I have some 'real' work to do too at some point.

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2009 09:12

Bianca Pah about cleaning not being "real" work, only thing not real about it is the cash you dont get for it. Also you can not help being ill

It is so icey, that we started walking to school, but turned back after me and DS1 had fell over twice and then went in the car

DS2 is watching the wiggles and I am having breakfast and a cuppa before starting

Mornin' everyone - thanks Mad for this thread - sink still shiny and shoes on ...

Sorry you are feeling ill Bianca - hope you recover from your migraine soon ...I get sinus headaches so really sympathise ... and hope your dh develops a bit more appreciation of all that you do as he is having to do it!!

Hello to Jas (from yesterday's thread) I always look out for your name and was wondering where you were!!

Having been back to school for just one day yesterday following nearly a week off with a bad cough and cold.. dd is back at home today with a temperature .. how can this happen. So I'm at home instead of work until the baby-sitter gets here at 1pm. So had better profit and go off and fly a bit instead of posting here ...

Hope eveyrone has a productive day ...

dylsmum1998 · 14/01/2009 10:10

bianca hope your feeling better soon. agree with mad housework is still work, but know what you mean

mad hope no injuries in the ice.
EHM i feel i have been busy but the flat looks so messy it doesnt seem it. am hoping will manage to finish all of it in the next week so i can see the benefits cos apart from ds's room it looks like i have done nothing for the past week.
shannara love ds's typing
scatty hello

from this mornings list i have done
quick tidy through
got up
got dressed
made ds lunch
put away last nights dishes
sort dry washing
unload washer
reload washer
hoover
dust
s&s bathroom
mission
get dd up and dressed
get ds to school

have also
fed dd
washed up
been t the butchers
taken my boots in to be re-heeled

it always looks so much more has been done than it feels like when you right it done
the only thing i have not done off my list is the ironing, it seems silly to get the ironing board out for the 3 items that dried last night. so will save it for later.
am off now to get dd's bags ready to go to my nans.

galen · 14/01/2009 10:11

Morning all.
dylsmum sounds like you are doing great with the organising and sorting - well done
mad glad you got a good nights sleep
bianca hope your migraine clears soon. I get them and they're no fun at all.
everyone else morning!

I had a decent nights sleep again last night YAY! Ds2 slept till 5am!
Was thinking this morning how much I'm enjoying this FLYing! having a god evening and morning routine makes such a difference. Also little things like S&S the bathrooms daily - only takes a couple of mins, but makes a big diference to the state of the house!I think my attitude to everything has changed a lot to. I don't feel as overwhelemd and bogged down by everything. Even on the days when I think I've not achieved much if I stop and list exactly what I HAVE done it is usually loads!I may still be totally unappreciated by everyone else - but at least I'm begining to appreciate myself!

So far done:
kids up , dresed, fed etc...
breakfast cleared
beds made (well 3 out of 6 - older ones are SUPPOSED to do theirs grrr!)
bathrooms S&S
floors swept.
WM on
Dinner made ( chicken and brocolli bake in fridge to pop in oven later)
School drop off, incl sorting out an issue about swimming with Dd1's teacher so she's happy
Home - DD 4 snack, me cuppa and MN time!

Not sure how much I'll get done today - no errands so that's good, but Ds is quite clingy at the moment. Needs his mummy all the time! Wouldn't even go to DH this morning - so may spend most of day snuggling...anyay we'll see...

To do:
Sort out underwear drawers in Dd1 and 2 's room
Move up spare set of drawers from garage to DD1 and2's room for bits and bobs!
Dust and hoover upstairs
Clean washing to put away
Change DD1 and 2's bedding

have great mornings all!
BBL!

dylsmum1998 · 14/01/2009 10:12

oh and i also have taken 3 bags of rubbish out (one was recycling). discovered the lift is not working again so tis isnt as easy as it sounds, especially wth tot in toe
have also made a picture shopping list for dd to follow whilst we shop

dylsmum1998 · 14/01/2009 10:16

morning galen i suppose if i remember how cluttered ds's room was before we started to sort it it shows how much we have actually done, just the knock on effect is the total chaos in the rest of the flat so looks like things are worse than better, but i will get there. the living room is looking better now, just mine and dds bedroom to go which is the worst room in the flat so very daunting!
i know what you mean about not feeling you have done much until it is listed.

anyway must get on
bye for now

wendythepositivethinker · 14/01/2009 10:43

Hello everyone!

Galen Nice to see you and you're really flying! You are beginning to sound evangelical like us other converts
dylsmum Good to see you too, sounds like your new Ikea unit is the business is it the one with the see-through drawers and square shelves? My dc room is in the roof of our bungalow so walls are low and ceiling very high, iyswim, so can't even have a wardrobe
Mad Scatty EHM Shannara WAVES
Bianca Glad you're feeling better, i had a migraine Sunday too UGH

Done
Cheesey biscuits made with DD -YUM
Washed up
Played recycling truck!
Made tomato soup for lunch

Off to Vac upstairs and the stairs
BBL

grouchyoscar · 14/01/2009 10:46

Morning All Mad Cheers for the thread. What would we do without you?

Done my morning routines.

On the school walk there was a car sounding awful, ready to blow something, then it ground to a halt and the occupants got out and ran off Honda dumped in the middle of the road during the school run! Police informed and Ed to school with a story to tell anyone who would listen.

I've done my homework and I am procrastinating. There are things I could do (Ironing, cleaning out the fridge etc) but...I want to not bother

Cuppa and biccies then frame my lazy bum, I have reading friends to do this afternoon and an afterschool activity with Ed this evening

Wolfcub · 14/01/2009 10:53

Hello all I need to ask a favour, can someone please google Ival for me (it'll be the top link that comes up) and post me a contact number for them please. I can't access the website from work for some odd reason.
did lots before work this morning, will be back to post my list later

wendythepositivethinker · 14/01/2009 10:56

Hi Wolf the website won't come up for me at home either, says it's under construction. There's an older website for them with an American number only?

wendythepositivethinker · 14/01/2009 10:57

Hi grouchy That sounds dramatic! Now go and Fly! lol says me still here on the computer

wendythepositivethinker · 14/01/2009 11:00

Oh not sure it's the same company actually.

grouchyoscar · 14/01/2009 11:56

Got going and sorted out the dry food cabinets, it looks so much better and i can find ingredients.

And what we need. We have 4 1kg boxes of paella rice and 2 half kg packs of spaghetti and 2 kg of long grain rice. 2 packs Lasagne, half a cupboard of assorted cereals. We have store cupboard frenzy

swanriver · 14/01/2009 11:57

Resisted temptation to compute this am, did routine first.

Done by 11.00 (hope it will get quicker)
Kitchen
Recycling
Beds
Laundry
S & S

Now
E String from violin shop
Food

GO TO WORK

P.S. Went to bed early (11.00) but then kept Dh awake by chatting.

swanriver · 14/01/2009 12:00

In fact I often feel food shopping is completely unnecessary apart from a few apples here and there since our house is stuffed with eclectic ingredients. However putting them together successfully is another matter.

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2009 12:00

Afternoon all

Wolf I can not get the site up either

Groucy Sounds like an evenful morning

No bruised other than ego's in TheMadHouse

Swimming was fantastic with DS2. I really enjoy the one on one with him. All the stuff is in the wash for DS1's go tomorrow

The boys are eating lunch with Grandma and I am having 5 mins.

swanriver · 14/01/2009 12:04

HELP, just done profile page and it is showing me with no children. I do have three I promise. Am going to try and change it. must have done something wrong.

Tortoise · 14/01/2009 12:14

Hello.
Haven't been around much lately. PC still on most evenings but i am getting bored of MN TBH!
Hope all the FLYers old and new are ok.

Have been doing ok house wise. Could do better lol!
Yesterday i cleaned bathroom downstairs and upstairs loo/sink which hadn't been done for ages!
Also cleaned the mould etc from DS1s window and DD's window.
Today i have done round DS2's window and the little window at the top of the stairs. Noticed mould on the ceiling above the stairs. Too high to reach so not sure what to do about that.
Also have cleaned mould from back door and around the wall. Ceiling there is awful too so will attack that at some time. Not going to be easy as it is that artex paint stuff so all rough. Any tips on what will clean it off? Bleach doesn't work very well on normal paint. Great on bathroom paint though!

Next job, put washing away!
