swan its reading as three children you must have fixed it !

Have been sorting out the living room (off zone I know but it hasn't had a proper move sofas proper clean in a while... the cobwebs in the (unused) firegrate ) It looks so much better. With the dc's at school I have the time to do things properly at last.

Off for some lunch then I'll finish off before school run

Have a good day all

swanriver · 14/01/2009 12:20

Yes, I hadn't registered properly. Now it's fine.
Tortoise hello.

scattyspice · 14/01/2009 12:31

Hi again all. I get bored of mn too Tort, I only really come on flylady atm.

galen you made me laugh. I was grumpy this am as DD woke up at 5am again. Then you came on and said how pleased you were that your baby had slept through til 5am! It made me realise how far we've come from waking every hour to sleeping til 5. I always expect too much of my poor dc (esp the 2nd) I focus too much on what I think they should be able to do not on what they can do.

galen · 14/01/2009 12:44

scatty I was thinking it sounded odd as I typed it LOL - but yes sleeping till 5 is a vast improvement on the waking every 2 hours we had till really only a few weeks ago LOL! (and the early starts do mean I get loads done in the mornings before the other DC surface!)

Good morning so far. Pursuaded DS to nap. Lots of playing with DD4.
Have got old drawers out of garage, cleaned them and moved up to DD 1 and 2's room. will fill them this afternoon
Lunch done and cleared.
Made up some meals for DS2 for freezer.
DD1 and 2 beds stripped - bedding in wash.

our big amazon order arrived too YAY ( kids got a £50 voucher off Sisters husbands parents for xmas - so chose 2 books each, plus I ordered MN book of the month to inspire me to take up reading agin!)
Will wait till this evening for reading though!

To do:
Sort DD1 and 2's underwear drawers
hover upstairs.
bedding to dry, nother load in WM
Put dry clothes away
look on net for some sort of soft toy storage so I can move some of the 100 teddies etc.. off DD's beds.....

Good afternoons all
BBL!

scattyspice · 14/01/2009 12:49

Good going Galen!

I need to add declutter books to my list too.

swanriver · 14/01/2009 12:52

Grouchy just read your arm post

grouchyoscar · 14/01/2009 12:53

swan I was wondering what DC/DP had done

BiancaCastafiore · 14/01/2009 12:58

Hi Tort I never seem to catch you online anymore Our main computer upstairs is broken so dh is sharing the laptop atm. Hope to catch you soon x

I have cleaned the fridge and kitchen and done some work although I can't finish it until I actually go into work at the weekend which is frustrating.

Feeling v tired and sluggish so am wasting a lot of time today

Tortoise · 14/01/2009 12:59

Clothes put away.
Next load in the dryer and a load in the machine. Finally the basket is pretty much empty.
Galen Soft toys are a nightmare! I am slowly clearing DD's out while they are at school. Took a few to the charity shop last week.

Lunch next i think. Soup that i made yesterday.

Tortoise · 14/01/2009 13:04

Hi Bianca. Oh poor you having to share your laptop That just isn't fair. Hope PC can be mended. Take it easy if you aren't feeling great.

swanriver · 14/01/2009 13:12

5 mins stash and dash attack. Very glad to close door of spare room again. It was going to swallow me up or I was going to tread on something terrible. will try again thurs
off to work now no e string food etc but alovely calm morning otherwise.

Wolfcub · 14/01/2009 13:23

afternoon all

thanks for looking for the website ladies, much appreciated. It's not an approved one from work so I can't see it at all.

done
made bed
did five minutes of tidying in the office
layed out ds's clothes so dp could dress him
cleaned bathroom
cleaned kitchen surfaces and hob
collected rubbish from around house to put out
5 minute tidy of kitchen and living room
vacumed kitchen floor
dusted a couple of bits in living room that I missed last night
dropped ds of at granny's

was consequently late for work! Whoops. Obviously I'm not flying as well as I thought.

grouchy my cupboards need doing too. I might tackle one when I get home, you have inspired me!

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2009 15:49

Argggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

Boys are being little monsters. - why why why. Sometimes I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Well the fact is they both want to do the same thing and are fighting like any siblings would, but it does cut me to the quick sometimes.

Anyway Pizza dough is done and I am resorting to the TV for 30mins sanity.

A is for ARGG. Mine are in a terrible mood too. Have put them in a bubble bath. Had to practically drag ds2 the five mins back to school to pick up eldest from athletics because he was so infuriatingly slow, whilst dd hasn't stopped complaining for last hour. Lots of distraction tactics (distracting myself from snapping I think) necessary. Boiled eggs, tall tales, I can't hear you when you scream etc.

But lovely tidy house is really helping.
Homework (hand in tomorrow oh dear) next
then Beavers for dd
luckily dh is coming home to babysit

Another load of laundry done.
Bought another school jumper for ds1 at last.

How are everyone else's children behaving/functioning?

EHM · 14/01/2009 17:24

y bloody Wm is on the blink now! it won't take fabric conditioner, I have cleaned the drawn with Soda Crystal twice still not working. I've also soaked draw in soda crystal & boiling water.

JAS forgot to say hi from the other day.
BIanca hope your migraine has lifted.

EHM · 14/01/2009 17:27

MAD i too have had similar afternoon with ellie. refusing to stop doing things. such as running off with her little friend near the car park & running off in shops. Jumping/bouncing on couch & then flinging herself on floor in protest. We've just had a little chat. I said I was sorry for shouting, loved her very much. explained again why she shouldn't run off , dangers etc. she said sorry Mummy, wove you! Said she had been naughty with 'G', sorry. ARRRRRRRRRGH!

swanriver · 14/01/2009 17:33

Ds1 done vp I am feeling better.

Wolfcub · 14/01/2009 18:29

evening all

I hope that all our little tyrants get a good nights sleep and have a better day tomorrow. I got the face when got to my mums this evening so I knew before I even asked that de had been difficult.

Forgot to add incorrectly mopping bathroom floor to my list from this morning

Done
Picked ds up from grannys
Made ten for ds
Harrased insurance company
Our tea is currently cooking, ds is eating youghurt and dp is loading the dishwasher. House looks passable downstairs so I think I am going to vegetate in front of the telly.
tort I know what you mean about mn at the moment I am on here for much less time than I used to be there is just too much fighting and too much troll hunting. Apart from fly and a quick read through latest posts I don't read half as much of mn as I used to

Ruby it's fun in lib. But no-one will read the books you remember loving like Anne of Green Gables, Tom's Midnight G or even Just William.

Back from beavers dropoff. Decided not to help this pm as feeling a bit unsteady too many cups of coffee. Everyone is watching telly here. Dr Who downstairs Mry Pop upstairs. Dh is in charge. However we have got thro another telly free 3 days (apart from now) and there is def more TIME to relate to little darlings, although not sure whether grumpy factor is any less.

scattyspice · 14/01/2009 19:15

Sympathy mad, wendy EHM and swan. Sometimes it doesn't matter what you do they just behave like savages LOL.

DS had friend for tea, ds spent the whole time on the playstation so the poor friend ended up playing with dd.

Done:
laundry
culled some books to pass onto a friend
mission
wash up etc
tidy up
dc bathed and ready for bed.

I'm going to watch Waterloo rd at 8pm.

swanriver · 14/01/2009 19:23

I've had that Scatty. But I'm sure he loved playing with your dd.

Wolfcub · 14/01/2009 19:25

wet washing hung up
Dry washing folded
Dp has taken the tumble driedables down to the cellar and I have loaded and run the washed again. I am going to go and read a couple of bits on flylady

galen · 14/01/2009 19:40

Evening all.
Sorry to all whose little darlings are being challenging today. Mine have been strangely tolerable - although Ds2 still going through his little phase of wailing inconsolably every time I leave the room for 5 seconds - porr babe!
That said having a bit of a bad mommy moment.DD1 went swimming with school for first time today. We haven't taken them swimming for ages, and haven't done swimming lessons for years. Mostly cause they do so much else - drama, singing, piano, art, fencing, ice skating, rainbows/brownies/scouts...etc... you get the idea - there just aren't enough days in the week so swimming was pushed down the list.Anyway today she got out of the pool t crying half way through cause she couldn't do back stroke and was too scared to get back in.She was really upset so I am feeling terrible - I should have made more of an effort to take them swimming. Her teacher had a word with us though - she is LOVELY so that helped, and have spent a long time chatting with DD - she thinks she'll feel better about it next week, and DH has been instructed to take 3 of them swimming on Sun - called in to baths on way home to collect opening time leaflet.....
oh and DD2 also came out of school in tears cause she'd lost her gloves.... not really a big problem as we have about 100 pairs LOL

So after all that was really gald tea was ready to just pop in oven!
so this evening done:
Home from school
lunchboxes done
dinner done cleared, DW loaded
WM unloaded, reloaded
baths , pj's , bed littlies
Long chat with Dd1 and 2 - whilst remaking beds and finishing tidying their room
Chat with DS1 about the injustice of yr5 gatecrashing the Y6 footbal day...
Oh bum forgot to read with DD2... for the morning..

To do:
Sandwhiches for lunches
finish bit of tea tidying
sort dry washing
plans for tomorrow
read my new book!
Shine sink
Bed

Have good evenings all
