Morning

Trying to back on track from today as the kids are back at school today.

I'll mostly just do a once over round the house today and put everything back in it's correct place with the aim of getting back to the proper FLY routines over the next few days.

Hope everyone's well? Welcome to any newcomers It feels as though I've been absent for ages; I've missed everyone!

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 06/01/2009 09:23

Morning all

I am feeling cold as I walked to and from school this morning. Must get some more mits for DS2 as his hands are still freezing

To Do

Toddler group
Collect DS1
Back for lunch - sausage and mash
DS2 nap
DS1 into everyday clothes
Meeting surestart lady
DS1 and me some quality time
All off to friends for play and coffee

I also need to get
Medised, degongestant for DH
bulb for nightlight
get to the post office

Zone clean continuation

I had an early night and it really made a difference, espeically as they boys were up 3 times in the night. DS2 was having nightmares and was screamning that his door was open and daddy shut the door.

Well I am going to check e-mails and then on with the cleaning for 15 mins before we are off out

Spiderplant · 06/01/2009 09:56

Hi all Welcome back Bianca
Well done on the walking Mad !! (you really must be mad )
Galen crikey you are steaming through that list...well done you!
Morning saga and thanks for the thread

Hectic morning here...kids all at school now though! Bit late getting up...even later eating breakfast and getting dressed....even later again as car wouldn't start!

Anyway...I'm off to mad dash round for a bit

galen · 06/01/2009 10:03

Right back from school run, having cup of tea nd MN half hour!
Just read the end of yesterday thread - thanks all so much for your replies.
I am REALLY bad at taking things slowly! Once I make my mind up to something I want it all done NOW!
I think a lot of it is made worse by being down at my parents and sisters over Christmas. They are really OBSESSIVE about cleaning and tidying. They are always having a go at me about the state of my house, putting me down and making snide remarks. Sometimes I can take it with a pinch of salt, but sometimes it really gets to me.
I have had PND too, which is only just improving, so things have slid a bit more than usual, and I just want a nice clean tidy house LOL
Anyway I am going to make myself go slow - really LOL
I am going to remind myself each day that I am a great mum, with 6 wonderful children.
I am going to notice all things I DO manage to get done, and not obsess about what doesn't get done.
I am going to try to prioritise things to do each day - a couple of things that I know that I'll get done that will make difference - I am not going to try to get the whole house perfect at once!

Right that said I'm off to play fuzzy felts, then make cottage pie.

BBL!

swanriver · 06/01/2009 10:09

Excellent walking TMH!
Hi Bianca!
well so far this morning I have done:

Children dressed (and I)
Breakfasted
Watered
Finished ds1's homework with him, portrait with very large ears and teeth
Off to school with PE kits, wb, GLOVES and ON TIME
Cleared kitchen, dw, milkbottles
Hung out jumpers and put another load in

NOW TO DO
checking journal...it says: Cat food
ingredients for greek salad
fruit
stamps
Scourers
It also says lots of frightening paperwork but I need stamps before I can begin.

off out now

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/01/2009 10:36

morning all

DH off sick again so plans not really starting yet.

However
Beds made
DW done
WM done
DS1 to school
kitchen cleaned
Sitting room tidied
half hour quality time with DS2
MN

still to do.
make stuffed marrow for dinner
do some ironing
chase some tables for messy play (ordered August STILL NOT ARRIVED!)
do some Zone cleaning

Swan do you have a cat or is the catfood reference to something else?

Galen I think that is the key to alot of what the Flylady says - most of us really do want the house to be perfect - and we give up trying because we can't make perfection.
It works alot for me because it reminds me that doing something is better than doing nothing. the Babysteps are a great place to start because you do have to start quite slowly. I still find it amazing that you function with 6 children! that each day has to be an achievement

Spider Hope your car isn't actually broken! and that your day improves.

TMH enjoy your day - hope you have fun with DS1 this afternoon

Bianca welcome home hope youhave had a good Christmas and New Year

Sagacious thanks for thread - hope you have a good day

Back later ladies

Jas · 06/01/2009 10:52

Morning

I've been and bought potatoes and milk, and had tea with my neighbour.

Not the most prtoductive morning ever.

I need to spend the rest of the day trying to get the whoe house in order332dc.

Will be back when ds stops helping

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 06/01/2009 11:45

Thats me with the deodrisers - I like cheese and it can make the fridge smell - so I have a charcol thing (only from the pound shop) that I change monthly. Also I only runb the dishwasher once a day, so I have a lemon smell thing in there too

Lunch is cooking, we are back from toddlers and I remembered to collect DS1 from preschool

Me and DS1 managed before toddlers and also had fun with the aqua draw

Mission
Clean all surfaces
Clean kitchen table
Leather clean chairs
wipe all kitchen shelves

So not doing too bad really

galen · 06/01/2009 12:08

Sounds like productive mornings all round.

Having 15 min post lunch break with a cup of proper coffee!

So far have :
Played with DD's 3 and 4
Cleared up several million tiny pieces of fuzy felt ( and there was me thinking that would be a non messy toy LOL)
Persuaded sad teething DS2 to nap - finally.
Made yummy cottage pie - in fridge for tea.
Made up some meals for Ds 2 to freeze
made and eaten lunch - me , dd's 3 and 4
Cleared away lunch, DW on, swept kitchen and dining room floors

This afternoon hoping to:
Play "lets fold the washing mountain" with DD's LOL
Finish off Ds2's meals for freezer.
Sort out DD2's money box for school.
Quick tidy round before school pick up.

Right, off to read reminders, and read day 6 babystep - again - have read it 3 times and keep forgetting ....not good LOL

swanriver · 06/01/2009 12:15

Greyskull, yes I have a charming young marmalade cat who is determined not to eat a certain brand of catfood and has followed me round kitchen for two days reproachfully, waiting for superior fare. He likes crunchy food and Sheba.

DONE

Stationery more pencils, indelible pens and stamps
Catfood
Delivered lots of books to charity shop
Bought green summer dress from charity shop
Ate lunch

NOW
