IOS Don't try and do any missions apart from todays. They will all come round again eventually. Just stick to your routines

islandofsodor · 06/01/2009 14:25

When I said I'd been trying to do them I did mean I have been doing them day by day apart from several days over Xmas when I stayed at my parents!!!

I do have a tendancy though if I've missed a day to try and fit 3 or 4 missions into one day which is naughtly of me hence right back to babysteps.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/01/2009 14:38

afternoon all

managed to get 1 hour of ironing in
had lovely bath and washed my hair
DS2 and DH are upstairs asleep and I am watching trash on TV for 30 mins and MN'ing
(Oh and eating the last of the Christmas chocolates )

school run soon. then as it is sunny will keep the boys wrapped up and send them to play with the ice in the garden (we filled up a few buckets yesterday so they could freeze)

back later

Jas · 06/01/2009 14:42

LOL. I thought you were trying to do a month worth s this week!

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 06/01/2009 15:02

Well - I have just had a lovley hour with DS1 and we have meet our surestart key worker, sho will be halping with the boys when I have my op.

Infact I have just been given the 27 Feb as the provisional date for my operation

We are all going to a stay and play at a local surestart centre on a monday, so that the boys get an idea of surrounding and people etc. I am realy impressed. I can have them at a crech 2 hours a week together and then they will also get taken to stay and play twice a week and if I am well enough can go to and they will be collected and dropped off with car seats So we have 6 weeks to get them used to everything.

We are off for coffee at friends now.

Bainca I also put the heating on for an hour

swanriver · 06/01/2009 15:15

I've achieved something today I think, but feeling a bit downcast that I can't seem to get house to semi-normal state.
Just as I get started on backlog, I feel pressure of all those everyday things...which slide...creating new backlog.
Anyway, just wanted to admit to negative thoughts as I haven't dared to recently...

At least I cooked supper yesterday, and kids want to go swimming after school so I can escape from mess. Now to quickly get some sncks together for kids, bread and cheese, bread and ham and milky ways. Off to school pickup.

EHM · 06/01/2009 16:13

grouchyoscar · 06/01/2009 16:58

Hello Everybody

It is VERY sodding COLD here. The house has been empty since we did the school run and it's taking a while to reheat. We are living in one room trying to keep toasty

Bedtime routines all but done. DH has said he'll cook for thge grown ups, Ed has had Lamb casserole, mash and peas, so all that needs doing is staying warm

Hope you are all OK

sagacious · 06/01/2009 16:58

Your all doing so well ! [self indulgent wail]

I started off with the finest intentions, then my friends little boy slipped on ice and cracked his head and knocked himself out cold(cue ambulance) so instead of the gym I played hide and seek with her toddler for the morning

Thankfully hes fine so this afternoon I've made all the phonecalls I've been putting off

Not done any actual housework but went on the wii fit for 30 mins

Bit I have eaten healthily (porridge/tuna sandwich/fruit/water) so erm...

dc's are playing happily so off for a 15 min burst

sag That sounds nasty - hope he is OK

EHM are you mad woman - outside

We are back and dinner is on - spag bol

Tis -3 outside, it has not risen above freezing.

Swan It takes a while to get on top of things. I did baby steps twice and also declittered for what seemed like months and I have to agree that I no longer look for perfection. I am preparing my boys for life and life is not perfect - good lesson

Infact all our clutter is in the garage and that is being left until it is warm

I have evening routine left, but not bothering with baths, as DS2 and I are swimming tomorrow and I fear it is too cold

AnneOfAvonlea · 06/01/2009 17:36

Had friends over so is chaos here. Cue quick tidy while DDs are eating dinner before DH gets home

scattyspice · 06/01/2009 18:05

Hi all.

mad surestart sounds promising.

Done:
shops
hung up wet clothes on new clothes horse

Didn't go swimming as dc too tired and wingy after 2 late nights (still having trouble at bedtime tsk). So went for a quick run in the SNOW!

To do
tidy up
make sandwiches
instigate early bedtime .

galen · 06/01/2009 18:20

Not a bad day so far!
Managed:
Folded and put away 3/4 of washing mountain - one bag left to do tonight then will be up to date with the washing ( yay!)

Quick tidy and stuff off stairs

Kids home from school

Done DD 2's science homework with her

Tea ate, cleared away, dishwasher on

Lunch boxes sorted, sandwhiches made in Fridge

Kids did Riley challenge - LOVE this - great idea!

Sorted DD 2's money box for school

DS2 bathed, PJ'd and in bed

DD's 3 and 4 in PJ's - not yet in bed!

Need to:
Sweep downstairs floors

Shine sink

Check bank accs (hmm think I'm putting this off LOL)

So not too bad.
Was nice and calm after school as house was tidy and tea made - makes a big difference.
Will to a to do list for tomorrow as that helped me stay on track for today.

Ignoring total pit of devestation that is suppposedly my bedroom , and not brave enough to venture into DS1's pit yet, but other than that house relatively decluttered and almost functional!

But yes the garage.... can't even get into it to begin to think about sorting.... definately a job for another year LOL

BiancaCastafiore · 06/01/2009 18:37

Good evening from the freezing Cotswolds!

I've had a pretty good day all in all
Managed to get the house pretty straight - I even had a quick whizz round the spare room this afternoon
Walked to school the long way round in an attempt to kick-start my New Year weight loss (gained 5lbs over Christmas so need to work it off again )

Kids both loved Gym club They've both eaten a good supper (jacket pots) and are playing really nicely for a bit now before bed Dd is watching teh Anne Frank programmes with us this week but we've agreed she'll watch it on iPlayer tomorrow instead of staying up late tonight

Off to get them ready for bed - I'll follow them to bed early too I think as AF arrived yest with a vengence (was late by 10days ) and I have cramps and a headache.

Back tomorrow x

intravenouscoffee · 06/01/2009 18:43

Hi all.

Have done mission and shopping, also finally got on top of neverending laundry mountain.

Ruby If I were a Premier league footballer I'd have a housekeeper and cleaner so I'd never have to cook or clean again

Anyway, back in the real world the house looks okayish and I'm trying to ignore the negative thoughts about state of the carpets, bath etc etc.

Mad Glad SureStart are being helpful. Will you be in hospital ofr a while after the op or is it to give you time to recuperate at home?

intravenouscoffee · 06/01/2009 18:45

X posts. Hi Bianca, well done walking at all in this freezing weather!

wendythepositivethinker · 06/01/2009 19:41

Hello everyone,

Busy day here as usual, only just checking in. Going to have a bit of a blitz on the house for an hour now then bath and relax hopefully. Hoping DH is going to help but at the minute he's on the XBox!

Have read thread but want to get on, will try and MN a bit more tomorrow and play less with the children!

Oops there's the timer, it's my 15 minutes up (second one ) I have been internet banking and internet house shopping (nothing new today!)
See you later all you Flysisters

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 06/01/2009 20:00

Evening - just a quicky from me.

Evening routine done

The idea is that they will give the boys some time out from at home and also let DH get to the office or clients if he needs to, as he will be off for the first two weeks (I am likley to be in for 5-7 days) and then work from home for a couple of weeks. also it will continue for as long as I need, as I will have biweekley visits for a couple of months for the expanders to be done and then another op August adn finally tatoos done by the end of the year - phew

Wolfcub · 06/01/2009 20:39

eveing all

Done
Picked ds up from granny's
Made shepherds pie for tea
Washed up
Ds is currently on the war path I doubt that we will be getting a decent nights sleep again

grouchy it's blinking cold here too, the heating has been on for ages and the house is still cold ds's bedroom in particular

mad sure start sounds promising. If you're not to far north of Pickering I'd be happy to come and take the boys to the park one weekend.

swanriver · 06/01/2009 21:02

Took kids swimming - a bit warmer than this house I think - a nice visit to tropics...
Very difficult to extract them but came home ready for bed and casserole and greek salad. Then twins went to bed by 8.00 without a murmur - hurrah. DS1 is asleep now too.

Now it is Twelfth Night and I need to take decorations down, or it's bad luck I fear. DH has gone to bed still feeling dreadful after day at work with a headcold. But I'm feeling fine!

TO DO
Decorations in box
Sort out dry washing
Finish supper clearing
Write 2 thankyous

wendythepositivethinker · 06/01/2009 22:02

Bathroom blitzed! Major clean - it needed it! Know it's kitchen this week, I'll switch over or perhaps do it later in the week.
DH washed up, hall vacuumed. Ordered clubcard vouchers. Made a list of what's in my purse (don't ask!) and emailed a few friends. Oh and sorted out a few bits of artwork etc for 'keeps' box.
Off in the bath now then bed.
Night

swanriver · 06/01/2009 22:33

Supper cleared
Xmas decs done

Now for the clothes
