mission

Mads mission is to make Reindeer dust/food with the children.

Oats and glitter or if there are little beaties about oats nd sugar coloured with food colouring. You can add the following poem to the bag:

Sprinkle this reindeer food outside tonight.
The moonlight will make it sparkle bright.
As the reindeer fly and roam.
This will guide them to your home.

I need to sort the house out

I have been a lot bit lax and it shows

Have had a coffee
Off to put a wash on and perhaps have a bacon sandwich (yy I know ...)

Reindeer dust sounds sweet mad

Jas · 23/12/2008 08:48

Morning TMH and Saga

Reindeer food is lovely, but too late now to start doing stuff like that with the dds....they would think I had cracked up completely!

I also need to get the place sorted today.

I am going to do a list and keep coming back to it I think....

~Food shopping (waiting to see if dp gets paid at all today, or if I have to use cc (again)
~Washing

Good morning everyone, it's very peaceful though I hate to say it here as the children are all recovering from being or just getting ill..DS2 has a bad chesty flu and is fast asleep again. DS is chipper but low key and DD perfectly happy to do housey things.

DONE
Recycling and some garden rubbish..
lemonade and hot choc to ill ones
wash on
present to Somerset, arranged lift
Booked skating in Kew Gardens for Boxing Day for me and 2 kids at 10.00

TODAY
make exquisite fish pie for Xmas Eve
as per ramblings last night
read another chapter of dd's book to her and turn off telly.

SirCharlieStinkySocks · 23/12/2008 10:29

Morning all

Grouchy Just saw you post about the dog, can't believe some people would do things like that. I once ran down a dual carriageway to rescue some poor terrified dog that had gotten out of a nearby garden as it turns out. Hope he finds a good home

Waves to everyone, have fun with the reindeer food.

Well today I am making cookies with the kids and finishing my wrapping for friends and family.

Have already braved the throngs in Tesco for last minute bits and bobs so my Xmas flying for today includes

To Do
Take littlies to Santa's grotto in garden centre
Wrap gifts
Make cookies
Drop gift in to friend for her dd
Quick late night visit to shops for new jim jams and hair stuff for dd's stocking

Sod everything else, house is reasonably tidy so that will do me, may steam clean kitchen floor and put a load of laundry in but that's it!!

Have fun everyone

sagacious · 23/12/2008 10:37

I am awash with apathy (and lego)
And sodding monopoly (ds is obsesses and will play all day by himself if I let him)

I have stuff to do and I'm seriously mooching

Tea is nice though (am considering a biscuit)

swanriver · 23/12/2008 11:53

Sagacious that's just what holidays should be like - sounds bliss to have a monopoly obsessed son - so clever to be able to do the money etc..
Jas, cleaning out the fridge is a whole morning's work in our house, and like emptying the sink, makes a big difference.

Made green balloon club badge with dd.
Settled sick los on sofa
Made Xmas Eve arrangements with parents - brother and parents coming 4.30 24th for candles and supper.
Xmas Day we may just all curl up and do nothing by ourselves if kids are still ill. Aunt is hosting big meal, and I'm supposed to bring red cabbage and gratin dauphinoise, but could just send food with mum I suppose.

dylsmum1998 · 23/12/2008 12:09

morning all. not doing a whole lot of flying yet- the children are in nursery so i can try and finish my latest essay. feeling a bit guilty leaving them this morning. ds is often the oldest in holiday club, but there are usually some 7 yr olds there. dropped him off oday and the oldest apart from ds was 5 so he's in the pre-school room . he seemed quite happy to go in but i feel a bit bad. but with them off ill last week i'm really behind and need to work hard to catch up.
had some great motivation got a very good mark (for me) on my essay i had back marked today.
so i get right into this one i'm doing am more than half way and my internet shut down and wouldn't go. grrrrrrrr
have made it go again now quick lunch break, crack on and hopefully pick dc up early.

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 23/12/2008 12:26

I hope you enjoy your Christmas, even if it ends up a very quiet one.

TMH shopping later for me. It will be awful, but better than trying to do it earlir with three children whinging.

Dyls - I'm sure ds will be fine at kids club He's old enough to understand why he has to go, and I should think the staff wil find him something to do. Good luck getting your essay done.

Sorry about keep posting my list, but it is the best way for me to keep motivated.

swanriver · 23/12/2008 13:23

Dylsmum, what is your essay on? I miss studying.

Jas I saw saga's list and thought it was almost exactly what I've done/need to do today so I virtually copied it out, lol!

We did our food shop last night at the cost of food generally (we have been living on jacket potatos and pasta for weeks now!) Plus is was soooooo busy, even by 7pm!

Got to sort these kids out - we've watched part of a movie but everyone is a bit hyper again now!

ludaslovinallthelights · 23/12/2008 15:51

Hi all

Well my list is also pretty much the same as Biancas and sagas !!

I have been cleaning the nursery for most of the morning. My friend and I went down and it took us about 3 hours God they are a messy lot! Not much FLYing goes on in there!

I am pretty much ready for xmas now. Just have to go and buy some sea salt and some lard (for the roast potatoes...out of both!)
I bought my beef today as well. Nice surloin rosting joint. I have borrowed my friends "River Cottage" cook book and have a lovely recipe for a beef dinner with all the trimmings (I'm so crap at cooking I need a recipe for even the most basic of things )

Kids are getting super excited, I expect tomorrow will be a bit manic. We have our friends comming over for a drink at some point so that should occupy them for a little while.

Xmas eve is the day the "Elves" come and deliver a special xmas eve pressie too.
Last year it was pyjama's and DH snook out the back door....knocked the front door and left them on the door step....then as I shuffled all the kids to the door DH snook back in and the kids fell for it hook line and sinker! DD1 was absolutely amazed and asked our neighbour if the elf had been to them (they obviously were slightly bewildered!)
This year they have brand new duvet covers each....so the elf can leave them and we can waste some time making their beds (and hopefully ease the getting them to bed trauma!)

Oh don't you just love it!

ludaslovinallthelights · 23/12/2008 16:09

For Grouchy

Not long to go now!!! 18 hours until he can be tracked
