A question for you seasoned flyers, how the hell do you manage to get up in the morning? I think that's part of my problem that even though alarm is other side of room I switch it off and crawl under duvet for a bit more hence chaos in the mornings. What works for you? I also have the issue that the kids will wake up early but will quietly play in their rooms so it's not as if I have to immediately see to them upon waking

ShinyTinsel · 09/12/2008 13:05

Afternoon all
DD had eye hospital this morning so still no FLYing done. Got door'sapp. for 14 40 this afternoon. Think I've got a chest infection, haven't been well since Nov 22nd!
FLYing will resume, (hopefully better with brain now functioning thanks to new epilepsy medicine), once antibiotics star working.
TMH I can' believe you're still having problems with your heating, hopefully they'll get it sorted today
scaty 50 cards that's impressive. I've got to get a class list from dd's teacher tomorrow mornng and we're compiling one for toddles so sholdget it Thursday.
Charlie welcome bck, although I haven't been around much either.

I'm goig to try for a little nap so can make it down the hill to te doctors, feeling really useless and I think I shold have gone to the dr's earlier.
Havea good afternoon everyone
BBL

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 09/12/2008 13:21

Afternoon all

The only reason I get up in the morning is I have a Lumie bodyclock. I have had it for 7 years and it really helps me in the winter. Defo worth the pennies - DH bought me it for Christmas.

Right

Boys managed to get yoghurt everywhere at lunch, so I have swept and mopped downstairs
DS1 at Preschool
DS2 napping
Still waiting to hear back from electrician and plumber
DW on

I need to get fairy cakes prepped as DS1 only wants to ice them
Also need to do some mince pies
Finnish icing and ribboning cakes
Find boxes for them
Get teachers treats from my mums
Go to post office
Ironing
Mission
Dinner
Wrapping

This will not all get done this afternoon, but as long as all done for the end of the week well then thats OK.

Anyone heard from Luda?

Hello All

Went to town to post a letter and ended up doing some stuff for neighbourhood management asd some Xmas shopping. I got a gorg Charles Rennie Mackintoshe silver pendant in the hospice shop, got the little bits from Ed to aunts and GMs,

Oh yeah, Credit Crunch Gift tip...Scope do an 'equality range' fashion jewellrey at £1 a throw, pop in a gift box and they look fab. Great for teachers, childminders, significant females etc etc

Just got back, better do lunch etc etc

scattyspice · 09/12/2008 13:35

Back again.

DD has been on the go all morning (in that can't settle on anything kind of way) so we have made Xmas biscuits and Xmas decorations - this is going to be The Xmas That Taste Forgot! LOL. I've just been out in the buggy with her and shes fallen asleep so I'm going to try and wrap some presents.

Sircharlie nice to have you back . I get up at 6.45 to put DS in front of Ben10 (his favourite show) then pop back to bed with a cuppa. I FORCE myself to get up when tea is drunk!

shiney poor you, I was poorly all last winter, but this year have had a flu jab (I work in a hospital, they reccommend staff have one) and I have not picked up any of the bugs going round this year (so far). May be you could ask your DR for one?

Best crack on!

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 09/12/2008 14:00

I am back too

I have just had a sandwich and done tesco order for tomorrow and also Christmas tesco order too

I am now going up to move everything out of DS1's cubaord and put in my bedroom for wrapping later

Hello all

Done

Morning routine - just about scraped through
DS to nursery
Toddlers with DD
Made pancakes for lunch
Watched 'the snowman' with dc
Washed up
swept up
tidied kitchen
prepped tea and it's cooking (veg stew)
washer on

To do

phone docs - dd eye seems worse (sticky)
make dumplings for stew
finish and write xmas cards with ds for his friends
play with dc
tidy up
vac around up and downstairs
dry washing
ironing
finish xmas cards (nearly done, 80 written last night and 15 to do!!! )

SirCharlie getting up on a morning is my problem too. Got up at 8.15 this morning and need to take DS to nursry at 8.45 it's so chaotic. mind you that is bad, it's uauall 7.45 I get up, but that's still making life stressful and hectic. DH gives kids breakfast and gets them dressed usually. I need to start getting up earlier - perhaps we can do it together!

off to ring docs they are just open after lunch hour. might ask to be checked out to if i ever manage to get to see one. They are hopeless at our doctors, getting an appt is a nightmare.

Play with DS

wendycarolsinger · 09/12/2008 14:13

Duty doctor is calling me back this afternoon, honestly, they are hopeless - could be anytime!

Play with DS currently on Mister Maker website on cbeebies!

Just a quickie cos I'm on my way out in a mo to collect the kids

I have cleaned and tidied the whole house today [proud]

ludaslovinallthelights · 09/12/2008 15:08

Hi all

Awww thanks you lot for thinking of me

I'm just about up and pottering around now. I was quite grim last night though . I didn't go into theatre until 3pm ish, so didn't get home until about 8.30pm. I was very sore and my shoulders absolutely kill!! (something to do with the diaphram...they fill your tummy full of gas or something which pushes the diaphram up, which traps nerves and makes your shoulders ache!)
I was very wobbly going home and was sick right in front of the kids all were a bit gobsmacked! but I had flowers and doughnuts waiting for me when I got home
So all in all it went ok, I'm a bit sore today and a bit holey by my belly button but doing ok
DH has been wonderful so I have been lying watching tv and eating chocolate most of the morning!

EHM A huge thankyou to you!!!!! I was totally overwhelmed to open your parcel today You are so VERY kind, the card was beautiful, I've hung it on our xmas card holder for all to see I have a little something winging its way back to you very soon. My DD1 will LOVE the cat bits and bobs and DS and DD2 have eaten the santas already!
Thank you very much indeed xxx

Tort sorry you didn't get seen I was luckily first on the list, the lady after me was cancelled! Both the surgeon and the anethetist were late so I was the only one in yesterday.
Hope you get another appointment very soon xx

Thanks again to you all, its lovely to come here and have such lovely friends who always have so much support, even if we haven't even met....you are all brilliant xxxxxx

Thanks again for

ludaslovinallthelights · 09/12/2008 15:10

....everything (completely didn't finish that sentance then!!???)

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 09/12/2008 15:24

givethedogachristmaspudd fLY IS AN AMERICAN SITE FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE NOT BLESsed (sorry caps lock on) with the ability to do the housework

Once you look past all the smaltzy american stuff, it is really great - it sets you up a routine for cleaning, meaning that you never (in theory) let the housework get on top of you.

It worked for me. I had PND and the house had really got on top of me, this really helped and now me and DH keep on top of things and I also have time with my two boys.

Luda I am glad all went OK. I havent posted my parcel yet - I am planning to do so tomorrow - if I get all the christmas cards done tonight!!!

We are back from preschool, boys have had advent chocs and I am going to crake on with the cakes next

Panic. This morning Car has disappeared from where I parked it (taken away on a tow truck! Luckily rematerialized in nearby street, they were re-surfacing, and I had parked in darkness not noticing big yellow signs). Still rather a confusing morning cos then thought I was locked out with housekeys in the car left there after cubs etc etc...
Keys in bag, discovered several hours later.
More organised that I thought.

DONE
Made beds
dcs to school
Work this morning, and school production
pm (Nice warm school to retreat to)
Shopping
Argos order but lots of last minute changes to father xmas's plans...everything o/s.
2 loads of washing
Whats for dinner - plain pasta, & spanish omelette for dh later
Picked up dtwns who had made beautiful paper wreaths with pipecleaner candles, and paper angels in school. First decs on mantlepiece!
Children now rehearsing 2nd of their three nativity plays across road. Ds2 staying at home wisely.

TO DO
ironing (tomorrow's work clothes)
clean out fridge (almost empty anyway)
violin practice (do not understand fifths)
spelling practice hmmm
Sit with ds2 whilst he watches dinosaur boogie beebies and have cup of tea. (FIRST)

Best wishes Luda. Don't do much for now.
