Mad Thanks for the thread. Took a leaf out of your book last night and made a curry which made for a spicy evening
Think we're all having Family Fun Days! Except you FiveDollar who has been busy already!
Jas Xmas is a financial strain isn't it! We have car insurance for both of us and car services and MOTs for both of us to pay for this month too so know how you feel, we are borrowing from savings this month (on permanent loan)
I am only just dressed, we are all having a lazy morning here. The children are enjoying just playing I think. I have been looking on the Early Learning website, they have some good bargains on there.
The Christmas lights in our little town are being switched on tonight so we are going to put up our decorations today (a bit early for me, but children are very excited!) and go later to watch that. I need to get a star costume for DS's nursery concert - any ideas? Teacher said that star costumes are usually for girls - anyone seen one for a boy? Will try Home Bargains, Poundstretcher, Asda etc - I'm no good at making costumes!
Oh, btw, I didn't apply for the job - decided to be a SAHM for a bit longer - couldn't face the amount of work I would have to do over Christmas: planning, new classes, all new courses to learn, stuff to find and unpack from garage etc. It would take me days and days to plan for each class. Then I'd have to spend lots on new clothes and shoes for work - not having worked for over a year and having changed dress sizes, and new shelves for all my books and files, new stationery, DVDs, books ... decided it wasn't worth travelling half an hour every day to get there too, leaving the house at 7 am and getting back at 5 or 6 pm. We are managing on the money we have (just) and I'm going to try my best to make a better job of being a Mum, ifykwim. Plan more activities, do more out of the house, play with the children a bit more. Treat being a mum a bit like a job - at the minute I have got a bit lazy and lethargic about being at home.
Have a good weekend all
