Morning all

Can not believe I am the first to post.

I had a nice lie in today thanks to DH, it is white outside got down to -2.9

Me and the boys are off out for the afternoon to keep out of DH's way as he is painting the kitchen - yippee It needs it, never been done since we moved in over 2 years aho

So boys are having a trim
Then McDonalds is they have been good
Then I might take them to soft play or something like

I will have to put the kitchen backtogether when I get back, but it is a small price to pay.

Jas We have some newbies on the Thread. I am just plain old Mad trying to get festive, although no decorations till next weekend here.

I took DH a cup of tea up and curled up with him and fell asleep for an hour, whilst the boys trashed the conservatory

I have cleaned all the kitchen tops
TD is on
DW emptied
All breakfasted

We will be off to the outlaws after lunch

I need to go and make DS1's bed

Jas · 30/11/2008 11:26

I recognised you and luda in christmas guise

We are cutting up paper and making our own chains today.
I may or may not get dressed

grouchyoscar · 30/11/2008 13:43

Hello All

Hope you are all well and happy. I have a splitting headache and I don't think listening to Godspeed you black emperor! is doing it any favours but...I have downstairs to myself, I've done my weekend jobs and I'm seriously indulging myself in a noisy way.

Yep I have
Cleaned out the cat cellar
Mopped/swept/vacced downstairs
Tidied and dusted anything that stood still long enough.
Done homework with Ed (inc letter to Mr S Claus)

A few hotspots are glowing but...Clearing then up will probably cause an uncontrolable backdraft and I really have nowhere to put a Tardis

Ed is less snotty and has stopped looking like the Singing Detective so he's back to school tomorrow

To Do

Lunches for tomorrow
Bags for morning
Put the dry washing away

But for now I'll enjoy my me time

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 30/11/2008 13:58

Hi all

Groucy Glad Ed is on the mend.

Letter to Santa is one of my jobs with the boys tomorrow

I have swept and mopped downstairs
Hoovered upstairs
Changed DS1's bed
Sorted some of his toys back in to boxes
TD is on again
Lunch pots washed
Polished upstairs

Basically I am doing my home bleuring today, as I am back at the hospital for more injections in hands tomorrow

We are off out in a mo

TMH Letter to Santa...I wrote it out for Ed to copy and after much coersion I ended up writing it and Ed did the 'Dear Santa' and the 'Love Edgar' bit . Ah well at leat I could add some of the stuff we have got for him already to the list

BWB are you feeling brighter today? Can I do anything? I'm only down the road so let me know.

BF has made it back from Australia. Her and DH should have flown back via Bankok but Emirates diverted them to Kuala Lumpur instead and it took 33 hrs to get a connecting flight sorted out. I was so pleased to run into them at Tesco yesterday, I've been worried sick.

Listening to an old Stairs album now. headache still there but I have the stereo and I'm happy

Bewilderbeast · 30/11/2008 18:08

Evening All grouchy Tmh* jas thank you for the offers of shoulders/support etc it makes me feel better just knowing you guys are around if I need an ear. I have been trying to bake myself out of the blues today and am actually feeling a bit better and less flu-like so things are a bit brighter. I am unfortunately prone to black dog days/weeks/months (and sometimes years) lets hope this one is short lived.

done

been to morrisons so dp could get his empty dvd box filled
made cheese scones, sage and onion stuffing

roast chicken etc is in the oven and the dough for parmesan and nigella seed cheese biscuits is in the fridge ready for slicing to go in the oven later.
played with ds

I am now going to stuff myself, get slightly drunk and watch some tv

hope you all have nice evenings

AnneOfAvonlea · 30/11/2008 18:11

Hi All. Have had lovely weekend but now back in cold house. DH at work. DDs watching Charlie & Lola. Need to have a quick tidy before we think about getting them to bed.

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 30/11/2008 19:39

Evening all

We are back home, after the outlaws MIL is so lazy just gavce us some money to get the boys pressies and then drop them back for her to wrap. At least this way they get what they want and also I can save some cash for the sales

I have managed to finnish the ironing incase hands are out of action tomorrow
Downstairs is also shipshape and bristol fashion.

I need to concentrate on the spare room this week, as it is my aim to do the wrapping next and we are decorating the tree etc next weekend - so will also need to go in the loft.

BWB I find that baking is good for the soul too I also have some very dark days, but am getting better at managing them.

My cousin who had the mastectomy and reconstruction has been back in for some more work on her new breats to even them out and my aunty who is in remission from Peritoneal cancer (who was the one who discovered the gene spelling mistake), has to have some investigations on her bowels. The word cancer was mentioned on Friday and she is really worried . My mum is scared ridgid for her. So please send positive thoughts, as she has already been through so much, including her mastectomy and reconstruction, heart operation and the all clear on the other cancer this year.

Bewilderbeast · 30/11/2008 19:56

tmh good vibes and positive thoughts for your aunt and cousin.

swanriver · 30/11/2008 21:53

Afternoon went badly. Back to the usual Sunday jinx of nothing quite working out as you want it to. Still, there are 3 more Sundays in Advent to go..

Good things achieved today
Made Advent Candle holder with dd
Lighted first candle, ate minitoblerones with Xmas music and dcs/dh
Children calmly to bed
One present for godchild wrapped and dedicated, and address ready for tomorrow
1andhalf letters to Santa written
Played Happy Families(card version) with dd and dh without tears
Washed all uniforms for tomorrow.

Good wishes to everyone feeling sad or just weary.

bythepowerofgreyskull · 30/11/2008 21:59

evening all

TMH saying prayers for your aunt & cousin,

in total agreement about cooking/baking being good for the soul I find the same with gardening.

Wishing you all a peaceful night ready to start a fresh in the morning.

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 30/11/2008 22:11

Evening all.
Our tree is up.
I am still coughing but voice not too bad.

Meant to be having blood tests etc at host tomorrow. But DD1 has just had a poo accident in her PJs so i need to see if she is ok overnight. If i miss tomorrow i expect they would have to cancel op next week so really need to hope sge is ok.

Will check in sometime tomorrow.
