I'm panicking, my house is all over the place, I have DS2's birthday party HERE on Saturday afternoon, I've got a meeting tonight, Choir practice to take tomorrow night. I've got loads of stuff I need to get done.

Basically think I need to work through the house from front to back so jobs to do today are (and some of these may be more tricky if DS3 decides he doesn't need a nap like yesterday so he could be awake all day.........): I'm trying to put them in the sort of order they need to be/will be done

Get dressed
Change DS3 and get him dressed
Empty Dishwasher
Put a load of washing on
Continue drying the still wet clothes
Tidy computer desk (on it, behind it and under it!)
Clear top of piano
Pick all the rubbish up off the diner part of the lounge diner floor
Hoover
Sort kitchen worktops
Empty kitchen/bathroom bins
Tidy and sweep/hoover kitchen floor
Mop kitchen floor
Sort dinner (probably something I've already cooked and frozen )
Bath boys
Have meeting
Sort bookcase out - gather all paperwork that needs to be filled
Start trying to download stuff from this computer to disks
Finish finalising which Carols we're having
Iron, pair up all the socks and put them all away

So - anyone going to join me as I attempt to get through all of this today?????

FAQ I see you doing these threads regularly. Why not join us on the http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/good_housekeeping/654336-Tuesday-Fly-Keeping-up-the-baby-momentum-come-a nd-join fly thread. it is not a thread for people who are cleaning godesses b y anymeans.

If we were good at cleaning and organising it - we wouldnt need fly for motivation etc.

It does work and it enables you to get on top of things, so you dont often have major meltdowns.

Once you look past all the american smaltz - its actually quite workable.

We are not a quiche, although we might like to be

Tidy round (quietly because dh didn't get home from work until 4am)

clean fish tank - ugh

dust

kitchen worktops

clean oven door

go shopping for new coat + new shoes for ds

put bread in breadmaker

make a pizza for tonight

chop some firewood

have a lie down (because I have been awake since 4am when dh came home! He should have been back at midnight and I was panicking - fecking motorway traffic!)

Fiveplusbump · 25/11/2008 09:42

I tried fly too ,but find lists work better for me aswell.

I do do the 15 minute thing though .

TheMadHouse · 25/11/2008 09:45

Nothing stopping you having lists with Fly - I have one every day

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 25/11/2008 09:48

because I've tried FLYing on many many occasions over the years and it simply doesn't work for me at all.

ie - having my sink clean is often somehwere near the bottom of my list of priorities (doesn't actually matter 2 hoots if the kitchen is a tip tonight -as the woman i've having a meeting with won't even go in there )

Right I'm back again - didn't finish my list yesterday - so today I'm just copying and pasting yesterdays list, taking out the stuff that doesn't need doing again and adding some extra -

Get dressed
Change DS3 and get him dressed
Empty Dishwasher
Put a load of washing on and get it dried
Sort kitchen worktops
Empty kitchen/bathroom bins
Tidy and sweep/hoover kitchen floor
Mop kitchen floor
Sort dinner
Bath boys
Do choir practice
Sort bookcase out - gather all paperwork that needs to be filled
Start putting everything into one big folder on the commputer of what I want to keep
SORT CAROLS OUT FOR CHOIR PRACTICE (in brackets as it's imperative that I do it today)
Iron, pair up all the socks and put them all away
Start sorting through the paperwork/filling it/filing etc
Pop to town (can't remember what for at the moment)

Just having a coffee before I get started
