OK, I need a GOOD mop. Does anyone have expertise in this area?

We have slate floors and polished floorboards. DD has started to crawl this morning and I am about how dirty she got. I hoovered and mopped yesterday and still it was filthy .

We need a better mop. I'm thinking one of those squeegee squashy ones. Anyone have a fab mop and want to share the brand?

can't remember what it's called. E-mop? Eco-mop? I bought it in homebase, it's got a long adjustable blue handle, and a flat head with a velcro-y bit on it. You then buy a pack of two e-cloths, one a duster type thing and one a mop version. So you stick on the cloth you want, mop/dust as you prefer, then chuck the cloth in the hot wash (don't tumble dry, but they come out of the wash usable anyway). Buy a spare pack of cloths, I keep wishing I had. It's absolutely brilliant (though obviously the eco- branding is a bit ludicrous) . Works though.

you can also rinse the cloths out as you go - no need for a disgusting bucket of crud (how do people mop - I never got the hang of it before - always felt I was just spreading dirt). The flat head is really good at getting into corners. The cloths are supposed to be used with water only though I sometimes use something depending on just how filthy the floor is.

heavy usage - I would think so, though I can't say I'm a heavy mopper . Buy a spare pack of cloths though, definitely, otherwise you mop once and you're stuffed until the next hot wash goes through.

well, boringness is relative - you could either get a horrible mop that doesn't work and spend time worrying about it, or buy this one that does work and never think about it again

Can't believe I'm putting this ... but I have one similar to this and it's great. Does a good job and tons quicker than the so-called "magic mop" I had before which was complete sh*te.

Yeah, but...........what liquid do you use along with the mop???? I want one, but does it actually clean or just dust???? I used to have a vileda thing that you just used to kind of dust the floor.

Those Eco-Mops are absolutely wonderful - bought one at Homebase last weekend and was horrified by how much dirt it got off our "clean" floors.

think you're better off scrubing on your hands and knees than a mop - would do much better job imo!

Blossomsmine, you use plain bubbles and water...it is truly amazing.
You get 2 heads with it. The first one picks up all the dust and surface dirt, then the other head once wet makes the floor all clean and shiney.
