Morning Mad and Anne and all who follow,

Thanks for thread mad

We spent most of yesterday taking mum to hospital for meeting with her new consultant, it took 2 hours from leaving home to getting to right department, then they were running over an hour late , we had a 20 min app then 2 hours to get home again . I was so knackered I did nothing except dinner, bath, bed!

So today I am playing catch up again! I have 3 hours until we go to my friends so will crack on.
Going to borrow mad and anne's detailed cleaning lists if thats ok?

Enjoy swimming anne

Veggie delivery sorted and put in clean fridge.
Sweet potatos baked and cooling for peeling and pureeing.

xpost. welcome daisy cat.

We have a new thread each day. There is a link to flylady babysteps and also today's mission. We try and go through the zones as per flylady and we have all gradyually built morning, afternoon and evening routines. Some people post the lists, others just say they have done what they need to.

I recommend going though babysteps if you havent yet as it is a system that works brilliantly if you do it properly.

Morning. Thanks for your thoughts ladies. DP def has no job, which means he will spend ages chasing his last weeks wages, too (boss is a very bad payer and now has less invcentiove to keep employees happy iyswim)

He is out hunting for something today, but not happy as fil is coming to stay the night and they have a strained relationship at times, not helped by fil being very judgy about dp not working, as if it was dps choice

Jas · 28/10/2008 10:26

cafebistro · 28/10/2008 10:48

TheMadHouse · 28/10/2008 13:19

Watch out - Plummber/Boiler company rant.

They have said that they can not get out till Friday and are currently experiancing the wrath of TheMadHouse.

Conversation went something like this:

We can not get out to you until Friday.

Me - That is unacceptable

Them - You are lucky to be getting someone this week at all

Me - so I have a 2 year old and a three year old in a house that is 4 degrees, what so you suggest

Them - no idea

Me - Please can I speak to someone more senior

Them - there is no one avalable we will ring you back - suprise suprise

So in the meantime I rang the company that we bought the house from and asked to speak to The Managing Director and I got threw - eek.

Anyway - we now have an engineer coming out tomorrow - result

Moral - Do not mess with a pissed off Mad

In a past life I was a Facilities Manager for a large software company and am so used to dealing with contractors.

Bowling was fantastic

Back from town. Had a good time and managed not to spend much. Took DCs to Fenwicks toy dept to get ideas of what they want for Xmas, dd - no surprise wants a 'baby', ds did surprise me as he seems to be gradually moving on from Power Rangers and was really taken by a spy set [hhm] so glad I went.

Cafe hi, good idea to have a trip away, a bit of space really helps I find. Glad you feel more up, take it one day (1/2 day lol) at a time. .
Daisy hi. Sometimes we come back and say what weve done, sometimes we just chat lol (esp me as I never finish my list).

greyskull phew some list.

mad good for you girl!

jas my in laws (and my parents tbh) don't spend much time in the real world either. Plenty of inappropriate advice but little actual help.

Done:
town
plant bulbs - does anyone know if they should be kept in the dark? I want them to flower at Xmas.

BBl

tigger32 · 28/10/2008 16:13

afternoon all,

We have just got back from a lovely lunch out, ds2 is tired but its too late for sleep now so will have to put up with grumpyness!

I have started working through the deep clean lists and should have them finished by the end of the week.
I have bil and sil coming to stay next week with their heavily pregnant daughter so feel I must clean big time before they come!

Helo and welcome to daisy and lavender mad well done for sorting out plumber
scatty how old is your ds? I have got no idea what to ds1 for xmas as he keeps changing his mind, he is just 5.

AnneOfAvonlea · 28/10/2008 16:37

Still have this to do:
MOVE FURNITURE, VACUUM, SHAMPOO CARPET
STRAIGHTEN BOOKCASE 5 MINS
WIPE FINGERPRINTS FROM WALLS & TOUCH UP PAINT SCRATCHES

Plan to do tomorrow.

scattyspider · 28/10/2008 16:38

DS is 5. Up til now he has been PR mad (plus spiderman, Ben10, Batman etc) but he has lots of this stuff so its a relief that he has shown an interest in something else. He has no interest in lego (so far).

Oh Ruby. Your poor DD. Look, you need to deal in fact so the private option is the way to go to get a definitive diagnosis. What is the name of the condition? Is there a charity/organisation associated with it? If so they will have excellent advice on how to get the best treatment through the medical profession.

AnneOfAvonlea · 28/10/2008 17:24

Ruby - your DD is 6 so if it somes to explaining that an op can prevent her from getting ill in the future she will understand that. You are right to go private to get this checked out. Try not to worry. From your stats 75% of people go on to have no affects from this.
