2nd opinion by a 'specialist' will help a lot as you will be able to deal with facts and not scary google stories

Try not to worry.

tigger32 · 28/10/2008 17:38

Ruby sorry to her this, I think it is understandable to be very anxious and upset, you must be very shocked. However you are dealing with it the best way possible, a second opinion is a very good idea and as you say the odds are good, but you do need to be prepared. Your DD is very lucky to have mum like you

Am planning on getting this for DH for Christmas. I figure he can play with DDs with it Xmas Grin

Ruby
Oh I can only imagine the turmoil you are going through.. I wish I could send you a superhero cape.

2nd opinion ALWAYS a good thing.

Not very MN but

Jas · 28/10/2008 17:52

Oh, Ruby, I'm gald Anne was here with words of wisdom as always. Getting expert opinion is the way to go, then I guess you have to be guided by them. I had surgery as a child, and non-panicing (in my view) parents made it very easy on me. I'm sure you can get dd through it with no trauma if she needs it

Got to go....fil is here, and dp has gone out

I'm off away for a couple of days tomorrow, spo if I don't get back, I hope everyone is ok.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/10/2008 18:08

Hello

Long thread today - have only skimmed, sorry

Ruby what a worry for you x I hope the experts can offer some reassurnace x

TMH well done with teh plumbers!

Jas @ dp being out of work. Have a good few days away x

We have had a busy day. Both dd and ds had friends here this morning and for lunch which was fun and actually worked out pretty well with limited squabbling (boy vs girl arguments usually break out these days)
Then I was brave and got out teh "paint your own.." sets I've been avoiding from their birthdays. We had a suprisingly nice time doing them
Then we popped to a nearby town for a potter and a chance to spend some pocket money and ended up getting theatre tickets for a show in Feb

Kids eating supper in front of Bedtime Hour now as a treat (treat for me too as I get to MN )

No FLYing happening.

Evening all

Ruby You have my major sympathies. It can be really hard with a child with a "condition". I clearly remember getting the all clear re DS1 on the cystic fybrosis (after 7 inconclusive tests and seeing a private specialist). I also agree that prevention is better than cure. It is only natural to feel this way, they are your children.

Anne I bought DH this, but for £40 so we can all use it

Well, we have cleaned out the airing cuboard
Errected the door curtain and pole
Put a heated underblanket on DS1's bed (dont worry it is under his waterproof matress protector
Pit draught excluder under front door.
Changed DS1 and DS2's beds
Hot water bottle in DS2's bed
Washer is on
Dryer is on

I need to but another draught excluder for the door from the kitchen to the garage.

I am using the tumble dryer to keep the kitchen warm
