Hi All

Just popping on whilst lunch cools - mince and yorkshires left overs from yesterday.

Greyskull I have a sausage cas in the slow cooker too!

Well mum is still waiting for the doctor. I have told her that I can collect her upto DS2 having a nap at 12.45. Bro lives in the same town (I am 12 miles away), but he has his own family, club to run and also Niece is still not right and needs loads of support. I normally dont mind, but sometimes it gets to me a little bit.

Toddlers was great.

TheMadHouse · 16/09/2008 12:05

Ruby I hate that feeling you get in your tummy - know it well. Wish I could do more. Thinking of your BIL

grouchyoscar · 16/09/2008 12:06

Lucys Cheap art supplies. Have you tried Wilkinsons or a pound shop. I've picked up stuff there. Tesco have loads of back to school stuff so keep your eyes pealed for reductions. Plus they sometimes have stuff in the £1 boxes. I got a big pack of chunky crayons last year so keep a look out.

EustaciaVye · 16/09/2008 12:08

Hi All. Just a quick post as RL life getting in way.

RR - I found this useful There is an online course you can do.

scattyspice · 16/09/2008 12:41

Hi all.

lots of people having a bad day and poorly families.

Had a bad time with DD last night. She wouldn't go to bed (after all the progress we'd made last week!) I lost the plot as I was trying to read the 'how to talk' thread as i have been trying to read the book I totally didn't handle it well. I guess I really need to read that book!

To do:
Make sock puppets with DD(to make amends).
Swimming with Ds
Bathroom.
Read 'how to talk so children will listen'.
Follow advice above book!
put DD to bed calmly.
Watch 'Mutual friends'

been thinking too much this morning and just wanted to say something that will probably sound wierd..

yesterday there was a thread about outing people who are lying on MN.
so just incase anyone was talking about me...
I fly 7 days a week - however - I also have a cleaner who comes and cleans for me.. she does the bits I can't be arsed to do dont get round to.

sorry if that sounds a bit wierd but the other thread has made me paranoid that people think of me as a lier.

rowingboat · 16/09/2008 12:47

Lucys I'm thinking about that scene in ET, where they have plastic sheets covering the entire interior of the house - and they wear full body suits. That might do for the painting.
I'm thinking Woolies or Pound Stretcher or one of those types of shops for the drawing stuff. I got some really nice, proper card weight card from an office stationers for about £1.20. You fold it and then press the crease with the back of a spoon to give a nice clean edge (DP top tip!).
Greyskull I was OK, DP didn't even remember to set his alarm so missed an appointment this morning. It has been raining here for the past two days, so I haven't been exercising. TBH that suits me because I have been feeling a bit yuck, so taking it easy. Hopefully, will be back on the road tomorrow.
Have been trying to get a passport photo of the LO - very silly boy. Now have to find somewhere to send it online.
Ruby knitting sounds good. Hope BIL gets let out soon.
TMH I hope your mum picks up soon. Still think Bro could step in, if he is nearest.
Sending Hugs to both you and Ruby. Grouchy so you have a family name, and it's fab. Our family names are John and Margaret - which are probably most families family names.
Hi Eustacia! [waves]

scattyspice · 16/09/2008 12:57

LOL Greyskull I haven't read that thread. Good for you (re the cleaner) I say .

EV I have got to pg12 of the HTT thread - my you are good at this! Can you come round tonight?

grouchyoscar · 16/09/2008 13:11

RB Yeah. A fanily name that I wasn't aware of! Mind you the bloke I named Ed after said 'Sound, the world needs more Edgars'

tigger32 · 16/09/2008 13:26

afternoon all, Greyskull if I could afford a cleaner I'd be there with you! Don't feel paranoid.
ruby hope the Bil is better soon
today seems to be bad for most of us

I rushed into town, parked at Matalan and got party stuff, then walked the mile to other shops only to find I'd forgotten the stuff to go back to woolies and my list
so had to walk back to car, drive home and then back to town!
Anyway did all from my shopping list except buying Teletubby books for Ds2, I can't find a single one! Anyone got any ideas where to look?

Still to do

30 mins ironing
collect ds1
babystep

better get on then

BiancaCastafiore · 16/09/2008 13:51

Hello again

Greyskull Don't wory about the cleaner - I think most of us would have one if we could (I knwo I would! ) I need the cowboy outfit made by Sat. I have found an old pair of trousers which I hope to make some chaps from. I need an old blanket for a poncho next...
Ruby hope you're OK x x

I have trawled teh charity shops and found some bits and pieces to start ds's outfit. I also did a weekly shop and parted with £20 on a new outfit for me in Sainsbury's (black jeans and a stripey top )

A load of washing is on the line
Crumble is half made
Everywhere else will have to make do with a quick s&s for today

ludaloo · 16/09/2008 14:31

Hi again

Back from town and shopping....got a parking ticket
Drove around for best part of 20 mins looking for a space, thought "sod it" and pulled up in a loading bay opposite the bank, quickly dashed in to bank a cheque and almost as soon as I get in the bank, the traffic warden appears. [sigh]

Great! we can add that one to the one DH got last week!

Rubes...hope you are ok xx

BWB Bummer about the tyre, glad it is all changed now.

TMH hope your mum is ok.

Hi to everyone

Have to go and unpack the shopping and clean the guinea pigs out quickly before the school run!

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 16/09/2008 14:46

Grr Luda that is so typical! Bad luck. It was dead quiet in our nearest town today...eerily so.. wonder what was going on..

I have put most of the shopping away (hate that job) and just run teh hoover round downstairs which has made hardly any a difference

Nice weather here so I need to keep ds out in the fresh air if I can after school but the park is out as dd is being dropped off by another friend at 4 so we wouldn't have time to get to the park, play and come home again before then.

ludaloo · 16/09/2008 15:07

Yep just my luck!

I've put the shopping away now and cleaned the guinea's out (I have bought them back indoors as it is just too wet outside and the hutch was getting hellish damp....and I'm such a softie I couldn't stand the thought of them being cold ....only problem is I have to clean them out every other bloomin day otherwise they start to whiff a bit!)

Well I have stacks of jobs left to do...house is still a bombsite! Have to deliver all my avon stuff this evening, cook tea, tidy round, put washing away....blah de blah....god it gets boring doesn't it!

DD1 is going to her boyfriends house for supper....awwww its so sweet!
She told me last night that she might kiss him today
He made her a little house out of a cat food pouch box for all her Littlest Pet Shop animals....she has it on her shelf...pride of place. they are absolutely besotted with each other!

Pizza for the rest of us tonight I think

OP posts:
grouchyoscar · 16/09/2008 15:13

I had 45 mins off, got potterring again and...

...Ended up tidying Ed's bedroom

I was looking for a leappad cart (didn't find) and thought 'just carry on'

Well his parrot is back on the leave, the snakes are in place and Woody and Buzz are complete.

He has baking club tonight so I have an extra 45 mins Tum te tum

Hi guys, managing to do my nanysteps but not quite managing to fit in this thread and keep up with all the gossip at the same time!
Can't remember who recommended it but after reading bits of yesterdays thread I've splashed out and ordered the organised mum diary and home wall planner. Figured that this FLY business is really hitting the spot with me so your other recommendations should be on cue too!
Tired today though, morning routine was about all I accomplished and ds had swimming then nursery and dd had her second dancing class - she absolutely loves it. Might have to indulge and but her a little outfit - aaww, baby ballet shoes!!
Off to nursery tonight for committee meeting. Best find something to declutter so i don't lose momentum - feel about ready for a lie down, no stamina have I???
Ludaloo How seet that your dd talks to you about her bf - first kiss with him, eh? takes you back .....

laurasmiles · 16/09/2008 16:10

Ludaloo - I meant sweet, how sweet.

rowingboat · 16/09/2008 16:11

Bewilder I'm watching you!! [watching eyes] You better watch out and keep off Mumsnet!

What's your course? Let us know how you get on later, if you aren't asleep.
