Hi all

Bianca...awwww are you ok? I have tried MSN but you aren't around
What an awful afternoon....do you think your DD might be upset at school and is taking it out on those she loves the most?
Only thinking that she was so upset about the shoes and she was also having a hard time not so long agao
I hope you can manage to talk it through with her.

xx

We were ok with the floods...thank you to those who were thinking of me. We watched some awful pictures of floods on the news. The rain stopped lunch time, and everything seemed to go back down here....thankfully!

Luda, I can be on MSN if you are around still?

Dd is fast asleep now. We had a chat before she went to sleep and have agreed on a clean slate tomorrow although I hope to have her to myself at some point to chat through any worries she may have.
She was delighted with teh doll Ruby sent so that helped the shoe worries.

Glad the floods didn't get any worse. The river is v high here but thankfully hasn't burst (yet!) Some of the houses on the banks are still vacant from the floods in July '07

rowingboat · 06/09/2008 20:42

Lucys that's what I did - teddy bear. He was very helpful and didn't move, but was a bit of a funny shape.
As long as you do the waist bit first and the crotch bit last, you're laughing.
Is there going to be a Northern meet?? I would go to that, in between Scotland and London kind of thing?

Jas · 06/09/2008 20:49

rowingboat - I think there might be one in Manchester....not sure though.

I hate nappy nippas. I'm rubbish at using them, ds can undo them, and they don't really work on Bamboo nappies. I have to try as they are old aplix which doesn't really stick any more.

Did you get the liners I sent lm?

Glad you've managed to have a chat and agree a clean slate BiancaI'm sure as Luda says she is taking out whatever she is worried about on those she loves the most, not that she hates you, or you are a bad parent.

Glad you escaped the floods Luda

cafebistro · 06/09/2008 21:16

Evening everyone

Feel really chuffed as got loads done today...DP even commented that I'd been 'doing cleaning' when he got in from work!

Rowingboat- I've got a bit lost with the babysteps at the moment....I'm going to give them another try on Monday! My trip was fantastic thanks. It was lovely to see my family, I do miss them . Was easier than I thought it would be travelling alone with DD....most people were really helpful.

Lucysmam- DD is 6 months.

Bianca- Im sorry you've had such a bad day . Im not sure if its the same but Ive suffered from general anxiety disorder/ panic attacks for years, its the pits! ( I appologise if Ive got the wrong end of the stick and this isnt relevant.)

Hope everyone's enjoying their saturday night

minorbird · 06/09/2008 21:21

Evening lucys its only a small flat. Didn't hoover the stairwell, or sort my wardrobe... that can wait for tommorrow. I have to go and shine my sink for my baby step! Is that the kitchen or the bathroom or both?

Jas · 06/09/2008 21:27

Kitchen

rowingboat · 06/09/2008 23:47

Jas thank you for the links. I don't know which of those is easiest to get to, possibly Sheffield. It depends if any other people on this thread would be going though, because I'm not on chat or anything, so I don't really 'know' that many other MN'ers.
Does anyone want to come to Scotland and sleep on my floor?
Cafe well done on the trip, people are lovely aren't they! Can't remember which step I'm on, but I'm going to do them again, because I'm sure I didn't understand or implement half of them.

TheMadHouse · 07/09/2008 07:40

Maybe we should have a fly meet. Christmas is out for me though, as we are completely devoid of cash atm.

I have been up for hours with the boys again. Although the porridge is cooling

Jobs for today:

Washing
Ironing
Get Preschool stuff ready for tomorrow

Jas · 07/09/2008 08:07

Morning

I'd love a FLYmeet, but we are really quite spaced out I think....

DS has been up for an hour.

Dd1 stayed up and watched KingKong last night, and is still asleep..
My plan for today is tot ry and put a rocket under dp to get him to do some work, and attempt to find some way of drying my washing without asking my neighbour to let me use her t/d.

Shannaratiger · 07/09/2008 08:17

Morning TMH
I've been up since 6:30.
Have finaly typed up my detailed cleaning list for each room. It looks scarily big but apart from the kitchen it shouldn't take too long. How often do most people defrost and clean out freezer?
Christmas meet up sounds great but being in Hampshire and skint, won't be able to even afford London.
So far this week the DVD and Sat Nave have died. Therefore had to spend £175 that we didn't have to replace it yesterday, there goes DD's 5th birthday party.
To do:
Morning routine (only done mine and DD's breakfast) [
Bath dc's this morning, still haven't got rid of dd's headlice, school tomorrow will probably bring a new batch. I'm going to start washing and debugging her hair everyday!
Tesco's, hopefully getting back in time to watch WWE (wrestling) round up at 11 followed by F1.
Ironing Aargh. Have to do dd's school uniform and stop sending dp to workin creased shirts.

Hope everyone has a good day, remember Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest.
BBL

lucysmam · 07/09/2008 08:38

Morning all!

cafebistro I'm getting rid of all my little baby stuff if there's anything you need for dd, let me know
rowingboat lol@teddy didn't move! My lo is very wiggly atm, but is getting better at lying still for nappy changes!

I'd be interested in a meet somewhere, am near to Sheffield though and by the sounds of it everyone's very well spaced out and skint

I've slept funny last night on my left hand side which is now very painful & oh is on way to footy for the morning. Don't think it helps that we're desperate for a new mattress either so going to see if we can borrow the money from oh's dad & repay it at a fiver a week . . . fingers crossed!

Nothing planned apart from roast dinner in oven later. Hope you all have a good day, bbl xx

BiancaCastafiore · 07/09/2008 08:49

Morning

All peaceful so far chez Bianca...fingers crossed for the rest of the day.
The kids have been awake for a while but have been happy to curl up on the bed and watch youtube clips The favourites today are; this and this

Dh is off to work in a minute so the kids and I may try to get oursleves ready in time to make it to Sunday Club (seems to be rare for us to be up in time these days though)
They have a party to go to this afternoon so I hope I can leave them and come and spend a couple of hours tackling the utility room some more but we'll see how it goes.

Not much else planned as we all need a lazy-ish day.

Oh, we do have homework to look at so we'll need to fit that in too.

BiancaCastafiore · 07/09/2008 08:50

Lucysmam, have you looked on your local freecycle for a mattress? There are often mattresses offered on our site.

lucysmam · 07/09/2008 09:12

Bianca I'd not thought about freecycle tbh, didn't know if a second hand one would make my knackered hips worse than they already are. But it's worth looking definately, will pop it on my list of things I want to look up.

Jas the liners are a godsend ta, not going through half as many nappies now I have those and the reuseables. Apart from yesterday when we went through 8 over the day

I'm quite gutted, one of the other mums who was using the new playgroup as well as me has rung and said they're not having it where it was any more It's now going to be in the next village, which is all well and good but it's either trek for half an hour to get there because it's just as you come into the village or pay £3 to get there and back on the bus which I can't afford right now. Not looking forward to having 2 kids in the house with only one living room for them to play in now! Am looking after one of oh's footy mates lo's and thought playgroup would be ideal instead of having them mess up my house between them . . .

cafebistro · 07/09/2008 09:36

Morning Everyone

DS was up at 6am this morning. Im used to getting at least another hour especially with DD still feeding in the night. So I think I'll go easy today !

lucysmam- I'll have a look through DD's stuff and see what she'll need. What kind of things have you got? It's a shame about the playgroup moving. My nearest playgroup is in the next village with no connecting buses and I cant drive . Hopefully DS will be starting preschool in Oct for 4 mornings a week, but its a good old trek especially in the winter with a baby too....but needs must! I hope you can sort something out...could you get a lift with one of the other mums?

Bianca- I last defrosted my freezer about 2 months ago....it was 18 months old and It was the first time I'd done it ( im not sure if thats really lazy or not??)

Done....

Everyone dressed, fed and watered

Made DS bed ( mine needs changing so not bothering to make it!)

Unload D/W and reloaded

W/M on

Breakfast things cleared away

To Do....

Feed chickens

Clean ensuite

Change bed

Sweep kitchen floor

A bit of ironing if I have time

Everyone have a top sunday

rowingboat · 07/09/2008 09:50

Morning TMH, Jas, Shannara, Bianca and Ruby
It's my birthday and DP is snoring away. I don't think a limousine is about to arrive at the door and whisk me away for a trip to Paris, but you never know.
I'm el skinto as well, so I would struggle for a Christmas meet.
How about an Easter meet??? Somewhere easy to get to by rail, bus, air and kind of equidistant for everyone. It would be a nice thing to look forward to.
cafe you have chickens!?
Lucys have you thought about a matress topper, you can get memory foam toppers for a reasonable price?
Not planning on doing any housework today. No siree!
Have a good Sunday everyone!!

Morning everybody! Happy birthday Rowing boat!

I've only just got up but my sink is clean! Hurrah! I signed up to the FLY group last night and have had loads of emails already. The babysteps look nice and easy though, so shall try and stick with it.

I've just got a quick whip round to tidy/neaten the flat today and off to mother dears for lunch.

lucysmam · 07/09/2008 10:28

cafebistro I've got all sorts of stuff!! Some summer, some winter for some reason. There's loads of vests, babygro's, think there's some little pj's although not 100% about that, dresses, t-shirts, socks n tights, trousers, you name it!! I ended up with about 15 bags of stuff when we got it all out! N that's without all the neutral stuff I've kept for the next one!

rowingboat HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ROWINGBOAT, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! I hope your oh got up n treats you loads today! have a good un

I'm bored doing nothing sitting here trying not to move my arm too much Not that I was planning on housework but even washing the pots without it hurting would be nice. hmmmm, what to do with myself . . .

rowingboat · 07/09/2008 10:47

Thank you for the happy birthdays! Don't feel so bad, sitting here on my own now (violin music)
YOu have a lovely voice lucys!
ruby bride and groom, are you also making a paper mache church and vicar? What do nits actually look like - I've seen fleas before, are they that kind of size?
Minor thank you! I have just done the last babystep I won't spoil it for you though.
Am now going to re-do the whole lot, to see which bits I didn't do the first time. I do feel I have a bit of a routine going now, which I didn't before - just ran about like a headless chicken. Have also noticed that since starting the babysteps, I haven't had many busy headaches, where I tried to keep everything in my head and felt totally overwhelmed.
Am now thinking about taking the LO out for a run about, since it isn't actually raining.
Is it sunny anywhere, apart from the Isle of Lewis?
