Hello

OP posts:
Shannaratiger · 06/09/2008 14:04

Afternoon

Have done not alot today.
Went into town, forgot the milk and still couldn't get ds a second bottom sheet from argos. Posted final Readers Digest entry letter (bet I only win £10). The washing is in the T/D again, apart from that my bum has been firmly glued to pc all morning My excuse it's the weekend, everything starts on Monday.
At least i managed to put loads of the toys in the cupboards and shelves under DS's bed yesterday. It is soo much better now as they can actualy see and get out all their toys.
luda at water situation, hope it doesn't flood. We've just had our MOT done, £50 what a rip off.
EV hope the journey is / was ok.
sag hope it was worth it
TMH glad you got a good nights sleep, you definately deserved it.
Jas good luck with sorting out the dd's rooms.
Ruby will be doing clothes swap and sort out before the hopeful new clothes for birthday's.
Bewilderbeast my dp would do just the same. They seem to think that looking after their dc's is a big job, requiring a rest after to recover.
bistro makes you wonder why you bother.

Hi lucy, Bianca, Tidgypuds
Welcome minorbird we only live in a small flat as well. Look at the babystep link it's a really good place to get started and will help explain what we're talking about.

Have to unstick myself and do something.
BBL

TheMadHouse · 06/09/2008 14:39

Groucy I will take long and short sleved T's. I also have some cash to paypal you for a lovley coat that Jas snt me.

I have filled up with fuel - good god - it is so expensive

I have also made a birthday card and we have customised some brown paper as gils wrapping paper - DS1 loved gluing on loads of pink sequins etc.

Fly wise - only the basics as it is the weekend

scattyspice · 06/09/2008 14:57

Hi everyone.

welcome to fly minor and laura I just repeat babysteps.

Shanna great round up!

Well as its family fun day I have dispatched my family to MILs for FUN!

I ahv been to twon. lots of big puddles/minor floods here, its been lashing down since last night .

I can't believe that only 1st week of term and THERE IS NO SCHOOL STUFF LEFT IN THE SHOPS [angry} (well in DS size). Pesky school only informed us of new PE kit requirements on Wed! I had to wrestle another woman for the last pair of PE shorts in Newcastle .

H+M have lovely clothes in (sigh).

Off for cuppa before fun family get back.

lucysmam · 06/09/2008 15:09

afternoon all

Weather's still shocking here, not stopped raining all day Lo is wandering round 'pottering' at different toys this afternoon, won't sit still for anything!

rowingboat yes thank-you. I posted when I got them to let you know, but that must have been when you were away I'm guessing. They're brill! Can't believe I didn't bother in the first place

so far we've been to local market, of which there was only the bread man there but he was still making a fortune! wandered home. made another jam roly poly for tonight's pud. washed oh's footy stuff, tidied upstairs and hoovered. also tidied bathroom as well. Think I'm going to take a leaf out of lo's book for the rest of the afternoon and potter around whilst deciding what we can have for tea that I'm not going to have to put too much effort into . . .

grouchyoscar · 06/09/2008 15:22

I am being such a bad FLYer

I've failed to welcome the Newbies A big Grouchy Hello to Cafebistro* Tidgypuds Minorbird and Tigger32

Usual felicitations to Bianca Luda EV Scatty Saga EHM TMH Tort Jas Lucys Ruby Tiger and BWB

Waves to any I've missed

Well I did lunch, mopped the floors, dusted, sorted out and hung laundry. Tidied up the soup disaster Ed created and cleaned the glass in the front room.

I am shattered and will have to take it easy or I'll be no fun tonight

cafebistro · 06/09/2008 16:13

Afternoon everyone

Managed to tidy and hoover DS room though to be honest it wont stay like that for long. He's just got too much stuff (something to do with his indulgent grandma me thinks!) The problem is everytime I try to throw something away he fishes it out of the bin!
Also im hoping his toys will come in for DD so I darent get rid of too much anyway. Need to think of new storage solutions.
Ive also hoovered hall and lounge.
Tidied and dusted lounge.
Im leaving the ensuite till tomorrow I think god I hate that job!!

I think I'll put clean quilt cover on bed and then make tea for DS and dd.

Hope everyone is having a lovely saturday

minorbird · 06/09/2008 16:20

Hello groucho and scatty spice and shannaratiger !!! I have read baby steps (and then some!) I looooove the idea of finally loving yourself!

I've just done the entire flat throughouly which should set me up for the week. (Just a spruce everyday now!) Off to Pizza hut now for dinner, using that 50% off voucher from MN! Hope theres something low carb on the menu...

rowingboat · 06/09/2008 17:12

Hi again everyone, home now, hope to do hotspots later.
It's my birthday tomorrow - I'm 103 years old, that's why I only do hotspots and not missions.
Lucys I'm glad you like them. Did you figure out how to use the nappi nippa?
Cafe which step are you on now?? Did you have a good trip?
Better go and check babysteps now - almost certain to do them again straight away, hopefully, might actually get the control journal sorted out this time.
I think I have missed the start of some new babysteppers whilst on holiday - how are you all doing???

I've been to the last two, butit isn't far for me, and my bf lives in London so I have free overnight accomodation

I think greyskull is relatively close, but I know it would be a long way/too far for most. Just thought I'd mention it as I will probably be going (def would make the effort if any of you did).

If you wanted to come, I would meet you off an appropriate train, so we could go in together, and may even be able to find sofa space at my friends house, although it is in need of more than a little FLYing, so no judging allowed!

BiancaCastafiore · 06/09/2008 18:38

Hello

I don't think I would be able to get to London. My anxiety is mostly improving but that's a HUGE step yet.

I am having an awful afternoon/evening and am not coping at all. I have come online to look for an over-night hotel to escape to but am feeling as though I can't really escape at all

Jas · 06/09/2008 18:42

Bianca. Anything we can do?

(I wasn't really expecting you to make it to the London meet up......maybe start with something a little smaller)

BiancaCastafiore · 06/09/2008 18:45

I'd love to bring the kids to London sometime soon but can't face it this side of Christmas

Dd is being just awful.. She has been terrible I am sooooo tired. Dh and I never see each other I have found a hotel but it's £70 which I just can't afford to spend so I'll be stuck here with this atmosphere and mess again

Jas · 06/09/2008 18:50

Bring them in the spring and we could do a mini meet, and go somewhere touristy

Could you go and take a book into the bathroom, have a ridiculously long bath and just lock everyone else out for a bit?

What has dd done?

BiancaCastafiore · 06/09/2008 18:56

Bathroom is a state, unfinished-after-5-years Not exactly relaxing.

Dd lost her temper (because she couldn't find a pen which I knew was in her eyeline in her bedroom, hardly something to get so wound up about)), wouldn't calm down after me asking her because she didn't want to calm down she kicked at me, hit ds, screamed, ranted, then tipped a drink all over ds and his supper! She hates me, I can't see a way round building a relationship with her. This is the thrid time in 4 days we have reached this point of her completly loosing it and being in such a rage.

Does sound going-back-to-school related.

BiancaCastafiore · 06/09/2008 19:23

I think it probably is school but feel as though it could just be that she genuinely hates me . She's always super-sensitive about back to school. We had a good chat about school earlier though and she was saying how good year 3 is so far.

I ought to be cuddling my dd but she is in bed instead - safest option for both of us

I am so bad at parenting

lucysmam · 06/09/2008 20:08

hello hello

I've had a very lazy afternoon reading about the 50p lady on MSE and am doing a big fat zero all tomorrow as well. Well, apart from potter around. Then back to babystepping on Monday.

rowingboat the nappy nippa had me a bit puzzled but asked in the nappies/potty training etc section n someone suggested practise on a teddy. So I did, n my lo found it highly amusing but I got to grips with it! Am definately investing in some more!
Bianca sounds like a stressful day, hope you feel better tomorrow
