Scatty Hoppe the party goes well. DD1 is 5. She is still crying most mornings when i drop her off at school. She did get better for a while!

I am not getting much done. Just little bits here and there. Plus i keep coming back to PC! Which keeps shutting its self down. Next time it does it i will leave it off until later.

scattyspice · 11/07/2008 13:02

Snap Tort. DS 5 nxt week. Still clings to me going into school too. He wants to do things like go to football club and swimming lessons, then wimps out at the last minute when I prepare to leave.

tortoise · 11/07/2008 13:09

Glad i'm not the only one then scatty. Feels like it at school though as all the other kids hang coats etc up, say goodbye and walk in! While i am still stood there pleading with her to go in. Normally end up taking her to the teacher and escaping quick! Thing is i know she is fine 2 secs after i leave!

grouchyoscar · 11/07/2008 13:29

Scatty Ed will be 5 next week and tho he's stopped being clingy to me he still needs me to be there and be a prescence in what he's doing. At school he has started to say 'you can go now.' don't know if I should be happy or sad really.

Bods have been round re the porch replacement. Seems like a big job so...bye bye savings

grouchyoscar · 11/07/2008 13:31

Oh and it seems like I'll be doing my mummy bit under a brolly in an overcoat on the sidelines tonight...Joy!

BiancaCastafiore · 11/07/2008 13:45

My ds is 5 in 3 weeks, he's been very easy to settle at school thank goodness but does like a good kiss and a cuddle before I leave him in the morning He's usually more interested in showing off to his friends than clinging to me I hope he continues lile that when he moves up to year 1 in Sept. They had a trial afetrnoon in yr1 yesterday and ds came home saying "In year 1 we have to do work"

I have been to town and done what needed to be done.
I've been pottering round the house putting away and tidying up. I think you can see a difference since this morning but I am getting fed up with allk the stuff we seem to cling on to all the time. Dh and I need to schedule in a weekend over the summer to spend having a decent clear-out.

Dh and I have a party to go to this evening. Neither of us are v keen but I think that's just cos we're tired after a busy week. It'll be fun once we're there
We have a friend from work babysitting for our 2 and also dd has a friend coming for the eve (friends parents are coming to the party too) Babysitter is bringing her make-up bag to give the girls a real girlie pamper evening

BiancaCastafiore · 11/07/2008 13:49

Oh, and can I wear black and grey/silver to a summer party, ot is that a bit too wintery? It's a fairly casual summer get together at someones house this eve.
I have this skirt (although I may wear black linen trousers if it's still cold and rainy as we'll be walking there and back) and a tie-at-the-waist grey cardie thingy with a black cami underneath...

DontNeedAnything · 11/07/2008 13:52

Morning all.

I am a name changer, on about baby steps day 10ish I think (did the 15min de-clutter yesterday). I have been popping on and picking up the baby steps even though I have been a bit AWOL this week. I have done most of them.

I was about to do my kitchen hotspot (put out the recycling) BUT the heavens have just opened out of no-where so I am going up to the bathroom to clean a truck load of megablocks for DD3 instead. I think I am just going to stick them in a bath of soapy water for 30mins and then rinse them down with teh shower and let them dry in teh bath overnight - what do you reckon?

Anyhow I must also go and ring round for house insurance quotes - as we are currently insured for £20K contents, but have just re-valued everything at £50K.....need to increase the insurance a bit I think .

tortoise · 11/07/2008 14:02

Bianca Have a good eve, no idea re: clothes though!

It is absolutly chucking it down now. It better stop before school run!!

Might have an old male friend coming round for a drink later. Not seen him for a while. He is Just a friend though. Don't like him in any other way! lol! Shame really!

Better get some lunch for DD2.

dylsmum1998 · 11/07/2008 14:08

dont need anything- thats what i do.
when i was childminding i used to through miltons in with the lot as i looked after lots of babies who liked to suck them

oh tort when i read male friend ccoming round i though- oh gossip- how boring

TheMadHouse · 11/07/2008 14:16

I used to bung in the bath with Milton too Dlys Bainca I am wearing black and purple with silver shoes today. Although they have seen better days, mst see if I can get some cheep silver balet pumps.

I am dead chuffed with self- as I have just decluttered en-suite of all old lotions and potions that are out of date etc. A full black sack of crap.

I have also cleaned it thoroughly, so one less job to do.

Only thing left for today is ironing, which I will do if DH agrees to bath the boys.

TheMadHouse · 11/07/2008 14:18

Tort Hows the ebaying going?

BiancaCastafiore · 11/07/2008 14:23

New Look have silver pumps TMH, I did consider buying some but can't justify the £ atm.
I always think black is for winter and hardly ever wear it anymore...it's v slimming though
I've been sitting here for too long. Must go and do something before school pick up time.

I am watching RAF Fairford on TV, we usually get the planes turning over our house so I'll be hoping for a glimpse of some planes with the dcs during the afternoon

Back later x

tortoise · 11/07/2008 14:34

TMH Not going too bad. Some ends tonight so hopefully will make a few quid! Cupboard full of stuff to list.

Off on school run in the rain now. Bloody weather!

dylsmum1998 · 11/07/2008 14:45

I got soaked on the way to school! Lovely and sunny now.
Have made choc chip cookies and DS's have gone to their Dads. God he annoys me lol! I don't know how his Mum puts up with him! Useless twunt!

BiancaCastafiore · 11/07/2008 17:51

We got soaked too Tort. Why does it always pour down at 3pm?! We all had to have a complete change of clothes when we got home despite having decent waterproof gear on!

I'm letting myself get worried about the party this evening have been doing everything with no worries so am annoyed with myself this eve.

Both kids got glowing school repports I am very proud.

Very tired, think perhaps AF is due (cycle is all over the place these days so I never really know where I stand)
Work in the morning [sigh]

TheMadHouse · 11/07/2008 17:55

Ruby I am on cleaning mode, as my bloody mother is coming to stay when I am in hospital to enable DH to spend some time with me and also save some holidays from the major one later in the year, but she does my head in and is ultra critical, so declutter and clean I must.

Also my MIL is likley to visit and she only has two states cleaning or sleeping.

I also feel as though I am on a slow simmer, the boys are winding me up - thank god it is the weekend.

Ironing is done, baths are done, dinner is done, PJ's are done and they are eating babybel.

Tort You must have seen something in him ONCE You have two lovley boys with him.

I NEED THE RAIN TO STOP for our weekend plans. Childrens Music day at RHS Harlow car and duck derby at the seaside. You buy a duck and put it in the stream adn the first to the sea wins - it is lovley if the weather is nice.

I am currently looking for wet weather alternativies

TheMadHouse · 11/07/2008 17:56

x-posts Bainca Welldone on the reports minis

tortoise · 11/07/2008 18:00

Bianca You will be ok once you get there. My coat kept top half dry so just needed dry trousers. DC were ok it stopped as we left school.

TMH No not really! I made a mistake and felt i had no choice but to live with it at the time. Luckily it was him who chose to leave and i didn't stop him. Luckily got 2 great boys out of it but wasn't really a happy few years with him.

tortoise · 11/07/2008 18:01

Oh and well done to B's DC for good reports.

TheMadHouse · 11/07/2008 18:17

Sorry Tort trying to be positive - at least you have the boys

I sometimes could shoot myself in the head

tortoise · 11/07/2008 18:21

lol its ok. I screwed up a lot when i was younger and hope i have learnt from it.

DD1 has decided not to go to the disco (phew).
