I have 2 hairy cats. Both get claggy bottoms and need a bi-annual cleaning . I bloody hate them.

I sympathise - I have to shower one of ours once a week. We trim the fur as well to avoid ahem clingers.

I hate...

pulling hair from plugholes

cleaning skidoos from the toilet bowl

mamabea · 08/07/2008 22:13

brokenbiscuits · 08/07/2008 22:14

urghhh

I can't think of anything more claggy

GentleOtter · 08/07/2008 22:14

Scraping hen poo from the treads of gym shoes.

Posey · 08/07/2008 22:15

Well on the subject of cats, I hate that my 14 year old has forgotten how to accurately hit his litter tray so we are constantly mopping up cat pee.

whomovedmychocolate · 08/07/2008 22:16

I'm bigger than the cat and meaner too. But in answer to your question. Chuck them in the bath, hold them down round the neck and wet them. Then quickly grab the shampoo while they leg it to the other end, throw it over the cat, recatch cat and shampoo it, then rinse.

It helps if you have underfloor heating (dries up the puddles) and large bath sheets (that you have no intention of using for anything else) to wrap the cat up in.

A particularly vicious cat can be shoved into a pillowcase with the head sticking out for washing purposes

mamabea · 08/07/2008 22:25

thanks for that

so it seems that chores that involve hair and poo are not popular.

boak
i have to de=clag my dog occasionally tis gross

Washersaurus · 08/07/2008 22:41

Sadly (?) I no longer have the pleasure of this task since my long haired, blind, fat, house cat passed away a few month ago.

Well that and the cleaning up of patches of his vom every day....AND those furballs were big enough to be cats themselves!

whomovedmychocolate · 08/07/2008 22:43

Gee thanks Washersaurus - just because I have a veritable wildlife parks worth of icky creatures living in my house (and that's just the kids and DH!)

whomovedmychocolate · 08/07/2008 22:45

Actually the worst job for me is anything involving looking under the sink in the bathroom for chemicals. DH keeps his old false teeth in a pot there and I always forget and then shit myself because I suddenly see these white teeth staring out of the darkness. Or worse still I put my hand in the box and feel them. Urrgggh

PussinJimmyChoos · 08/07/2008 22:46

Better that they are kept there and not lost in your muff when he pays a visit to your lady garden m'dear

whomovedmychocolate · 08/07/2008 22:50

Puss

Open garden season is over.

PussinJimmyChoos · 08/07/2008 22:58

Ooh yes....had forgotten!

TheSmallClanger · 08/07/2008 23:11

De-clagging a rabbit's arse isn't fun either. It is that much of a problem that the vet stocks a product to stop flies settling there.
Last summer one rabbit had a Brazilian.

ok i was going to come on this thread and moan about the state of the veggie drawer in my fridge, but the playboy bunnie/vampire teeth/dangle berries has put my feeble domestic woes to shame....

My cat mad friend had one feline who was simply unbearable when she was on heat (expensive breed waiting to breed) so every so often she would have to "shag" her own cat with a cotton bud. Now that's a fun evening in ...
