I have 2 hairy cats. Both get claggy bottoms and need a bi-annual cleaning . I bloody hate them.

In a cat it means removing the scraggy shite from their arses, in dogs, it can mean draining the anal glands as well which involves sticking your finger up there and swishing. It's the closest most dog owners come to being a midwife

I am not a sensitive person, but fear the phrase "de-clagging the cats bums" will stay with me tonight and give me uneasy dreams.

Can't believe I've found a thread on this! My dog needs her anal glands doing, and I can't bring myself to do it, apart from the fact that i don't know what I'm doing.
Has anyone done this to their dog?
