Recommendations for genuinely non-toxic non-stick frying and sauté pans

Are there any genuinely non toxic non stick frying or saute pans? There is some great marketing for high end pans that promise non toxic and non stick but I don’t know if they actually deliver? Please do share any pan recommendations.

Get a stainless steel one. Mine came from Argos years ago - it was a Ken Hom stainless steel lidded wok but I use it as a saute pan. Nothing sticks to it and I barely use any oil.

i use anodised. Not sure about toxicity, but great non stick.

Cast iron. Needs care but I couldn't go back to others.

Disappointed in my Always Pan so wouldn’t recommend you go for that!

Ken Hom woks were always the best. I’m off to see if they are still sold nowadays. Thank you.

That is the one I was tempted by with the fantastic marketing. Thank you for warning me off.

I had never heard of anodised but this is surely the answer. I’m going to go down a rabbit hole of anodised plans tonight. Many thanks

The M&S Tom Kerridge ones are good (so far at least)

IckyIck · 14/09/2026 21:51

Mine looks like this Pan With Lid | Wayfair but bigger.

Stainless Steel 20cm Frying Pan by M&S X Tom Kerridge at M&S

Using an Ikea stainless steel saute pan I bought 15 years ago as a stop gap till I found a set of pans I preferred . Still looks as good as new - and nothing sticks

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 14/09/2026 22:08

Not the always pan.... its a load of marketing shite.
We have pro cook stainless steel. Once seasoned its fairly nonstick

IckyIck · 14/09/2026 22:11

IKEA 365+ frying pan, stainless steel, 28 cm - IKEA UK
Not got that one but have a saucepan from the same range, It's good.

That sounds fab

IckyIck · 14/09/2026 22:50

It is, but I don't think you can get them any more. It's big so good for batch cooking.
I use a non-stick pan for omelettes or pancakes but I don't let anyone else use it.

I like mine, they do need to be treated gently though. Lakeland are doing a similar pan a lot cheaper, have just bought one for student dd so I haven’t used it but it looks good.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/09/2026 00:28

I’m another stainless steel fan, mine are ProCook. Like a PP, I have a nonstick pan just for omelettes, pancakes and scrambled eggs which never gets overheated and only ever has silicone spatulas used on it and is handwashed.

I haven't had any problems with mine. What's happened with yours?

I just didn’t find it coped with high temps I wanted to get a good sear on stuff?

Initially it was fine, good non stick etc, however over time the lining seems to degrade and it’s not that non stick anymore 😳 with some marks that won’t come off that I think affect the nonstick.

I will caveat this by saying I have an Everhot cooker so it’s on a hotplate not a gas burner, that may affect things.

I also wanted a pan that can go into a super hot overnight after an initial sear and it’s only safe to oven temp of 230 and mine runs v hot…

That said, I purchased their Wonder mini oven/air fryer thing for my little mum as she doesn’t need to fire up the big oven these days - and it is absolutely fab!

WingnutSOS · 15/09/2026 08:51

@leli ah it’s the ceramic one I have, did wonder if the titanium was any better….

I have an Everhot too! My titanium pan goes in the oven, on top, on the induction, under the grill, everywhere. Game changer. I bought the whole set as a big investment. Did loads of research. Exceeded expectations - also looks gorgeous. Totally love it.

WingnutSOS · 15/09/2026 09:11

@leli oh that is great to hear, you’ve made me have a think about getting that now!

Oh that's disappointing. You mean the titanium one, not the ceramic? I haven't used mine at high temperatures, so thanks for the warning not to.

WingnutSOS · 15/09/2026 09:20

@comeondover apologies I have the ceramic, @leli has the titanium and has now persuaded me to look again at that!
