Where did disinfectant go???

I haven't checked the Spar yet, admittedly, but went to buy disinfectant yesterday and POUF! - it has vanished.. Sprays,wipes, super pongy concentrate, bleach - all ranged out in abundance.

But bog standard pour in a bucket to mop the floor after the cat's been sick? Nowhere to be seen.

Why?????????? 🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷

Sainsburys has both its own brand and Dettol listed. Maybe it’s with first aid or baby care rather than cleaning supplies?

Guy in Tesco found me one mingy bottle of dettol hidden behind the bleach and that was all they had, and £4 for about 500 ml 😠

Nothing at all online on Ocado..No sainsbos.near me but I am holding a little hope out for the Spar....

I always buy M&S disinfectant. It smells so good.

I bought an Astonish spray last weekend in the Range. B&M, Dunelm, Home Bargains also good for cleaning stuff.

Or it's all perfumed stuff that smells amazing but doesn't actually clean though now sadly

I don't want to side track (but am going to). Why don't hospitals smell like hospitals any more. They always smelled of disinfectant. I think the answer is that modern disinfectant doesn't smell, but it doesn't seem right.

I thought this only yesterday, having an outpatient appointment. The old fashioned "hospital smell" was kind of reassuring.
The toilets smelled a bit pissy. 😐

I find this too OP. Used to be plain old bottles of disinfectant everywhere. Just plain pine disinfectant in a bottle with a lid. Now you can't buy anything like it in Sainsbury's. It's either 'multipurpose cleaner' or stuff with a spray attachment. I don't like the idea of spraying particles of it into the air and don't like that you can't recycle the spraying bit.

I just want a disinfectantfor when animals / humans are sick and/or shite is brought into the house on shoes, wheels, paws etc.

I got a bottle of Tesco's own cheapie green pine disinfectant last week. I can't remember which section it was in - cleaning/household stuff - but it took a bit of hunting down. Might have been by the laundry stuff?

I'm glad I'm not alone in my continuing preference and desire for normal disinfectant over smelly sprays and wastefful wipes...but mystified as to where it can have gone? Was it just too cheap??

Same! I’m always looking for disinfectant. It’s needed after vomiting children. I want to slosh it everywhere but where the eff is it?!
