EustaciaVye · 25/06/2008 07:15

Morning all.

Cant remember much from yesterday but well done Dylsmum

Had a lie in until 6.30 today as DH came down with DD2 at 6. I am up, dressed, have had breakfast, have sorted out dishwasher and washing. So, with the exception of a hotspot I have done my morning routine already.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning

Also up early,as dd2 wet her bed at 5am

Ruby - Not sure whether to give you a hug or a kick. You sound like I was feeling a while ago,and your blunt "pull yourself together and stop whinging" helped me more than hugs, so I do hope you can keep concentrating on the things you can control, and try not to worry(ha!) about the rest.

I'm feeling better as we've just had an extra CTC payment as they underpaid us last year, so I now have money to pay the next bill
We seem to be livingvery hand to mouth atm, andI don't like it...

Well, back to FLY. Nothing likely to get done today (apart from washing) as I'll be out alot.I'll pop back at lunch time for an update.

OMG!! my cars been broken into
i forgot to take the radio out yesterday afternoon when i parked up, walked past this morning and its been broken into they nicked the radio and broken the little window on the back door

hellogoodbye · 25/06/2008 10:29

Can I join in? I am rubbish at getting my housework done and often end up in a mess. I am hoping to be childminding soon so I need my house to be cleana nd tidy! Also, my DD is nearly crawling, so need it for that reason too.

Dylsmum - oh no, its horrible int it? It happened to me several times in a row about 2 years ago, when I lived in a different area. Most of the time it was kids as they didnt really take anything. I had an old banger at the time, but its the cost of the repairs that is the worst.

Anyway, I am going out working this afternoon so won't be able to do loads but need some motivation to get some stuff done when I am here! I am awful for just wanting to be on here or play with my DD!

Need to:
Tidy Living room
Hoover downstairs
DO lunch
Wash up
Get showered and dressed when DD has her afternoon nap
Go out babysitting
Hang washing up
Take clean dry washing upstairs
Cancel Sky
Sort out tax credits
Do Dinner
Wash up again
Put paper work away
Look after DD

My cats brought in an alive bird this morning too and I now can't find it! Have shut the cats out of the room but I dnt really know what to do about the bird? I dont want poo everywhere!

Hope you dont mind me joining in

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 10:42

Hello and welcome hellogoodbye
hope you catch the bird!
yes it is horrible i had nothig but probs since i got this car- i've had a wing mirror kicked off, one knocked off outside school and now its broken into. i only got it at end jan- i think its jinxed

Shannaratiger · 25/06/2008 10:54

Morning all

Dylsmum well done, reminded me of the great feeling when was told I'd got a 2:2 rather than the F I thought and probably deserved to get. Sorry about the car we had the back triangle window smashed, they didn't even take anything, was a pain to get it fixed though.
hellogoodbye everyone is welcome. Here's the link to the FLYlady website which we all try and follow, (with mixed levels of success)

babysteps

DD is on her second visit to her new school, DS is asleep and I was going to get the thigh trainer and hoovering done before having to leave at 11:35, think I had better get off here, and get moving.
Hope everyone has a good day

Jas · 25/06/2008 11:02

Dylsmum - Is it insured?

Hellogoodbye - Welcome

I may be having people here this pm for tea and cakes (I'm the back up and the regular mum's ds was ill so I still need to find out) so I'd better get moving and FLY.

Still to do....

Morning
9 Sweep the kitchen floor
10 Swish and swipe
Afternoon
11 15 min declutter
12 mission
13 Where's the washing?
14 2 min hotspot
Plus
tidy and hoover sitting room and dining room
DD2s room
DD2s bed

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 11:03

Shannaratiger do you mind if i ask how much it cost to fix? i have a 400 excess on my policy so am going to have to fork out for it myself. i'm gutted i'm taking the children away in 5 weeks and the only money i have saved is half what i need for our holiday, so looks like i'm gonna have to spend that fixing the car window

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 11:04

Jas yes i'm insured but with big excess

Jas · 25/06/2008 11:11

Oh bugger.
We have similar, and when dps car needed a new windscreen I realised his is insured third party so we had to pay for that, too.

sagacious · 25/06/2008 11:32

Hello !

(and extra welcome for hellogoodbye) dyls Thats pants

My personal mission for this week is to cut down on my shopping bills

I have a freezer chock full up with salmon/steak/pork chops

And every week I buy more as its on my "usuals" list (I shop online)

No more !

Steak is out of freezer and defrosting

Today I have:
Sorted out finances (hence this mission!)
Washed (in machine) living room curtains)
Pegged out curtains
Loaded d/w and 5 mins on kitchen
Culled magazines

DD watching/dancing/warbling to razzledazzle (she cannot hold a tune bless her I fear for the glass in this house)

Well I've babbled on (and on)

Off to have lunch and take dd to nursery

Toodle pip!

EustaciaVye · 25/06/2008 11:48

welcome hellogoodbye.

Hi there.

dyl Sorry about the car. Hope you can get it fixed (and not too exp).

Hellogoodbye Good luck with the flying. Crawling babies cause so much chaos don't they!

Saga I'm on a shopping bill squeeze too. Its the little extras that cost me 9usually cakes and biscuits that get eaten in a flash). I'm trying to bake some stuff and cut down on the mid week trips to the shop.

Hi to shanna, jas, EV and all else

Had precious little sleep again last night (dd again) so am groggy today. Just doing the basics.

Jas · 25/06/2008 12:35

I've been sticking fairly rigidly to my shopping list/budget these last few weeks, and my cupboards are barer than they were, but we aren't going hungry, and I think I'm the only one missing the treats.

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 12:39

jas i've been doing that to, my ds commented when getting bread out cupboard wow what happened to the cupboard its empty nearly (i've always had a huge thing about bare cupboards so stock them to bursting. but by using wht i have in and sticking to menu plan i ihave saved loads and wasted less too

Shannaratiger · 25/06/2008 12:42

Dyls I think it was about £150, but it was a few years ago and DP sorted it all out.
Jas sorry forgot to say hello earlier
sag we need to sort out our finances as well. Luckily we will save about £100 / mnth when dd finishes playschool. But would like to go on holiday next summer, so need to make some savings somewhere.

DS is not eating again I'm trying not to get stressed about it - 2 days with virtualy no dinner or lunch, only breakfast and 1 pt of milk, which i think they have to have per day.

Did t. trainer earlier but didn't have time to hoover, whizzed carpet sweeper around though so doesn't look too bad. Will clean bathroom tonite after bath, have to wash bath toys though.

Has anyone got any tips on how to get light coloured clothes clean. We have to use Fairy non-bio because everything else makes us all itch. Doesn't get the clothes clean though.

DD is asking for more lunch
BBL

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 12:48

thanks shannara - there goes my holiday money

how old is ds? if you can get him to eat yoghurt/cheese etc he doesnt need a whole pint of milk..
my 2 both have these phases as tots. ds i was very worried about and went to h.v. who told me not to worry he wont starve. so have been able to relax more with dd. we have these days with dd most weeks, then she'll have a couple of days where she doesnt stop.

we only use non-bio because of skin smetimes i have to wah things several times to get them clean, particularly tots clothes

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 12:51

am so fed up today i havent done much but sit on here. reading others posts to remind myself people are going through much worse than a broken into car, its not having much effect tho

am going to repost my list and try and finish it
get dressed done
dress dc done
make ds lunchdone breakfastdone
make beds done
strip ds beddone
load washerdone
unload washer
sort dry washing done ironing tidydone hooverdone missiondone
sort dd top drawer
dustdone

have done more than i though but still not enough.

have made some plaster of paris farm animals with dd, just waiting for them to dry/set/cook whatever you call it

scattyspice · 25/06/2008 12:54

Ds lived off thin air for ages. Now he eats like a horse!

I also use non bio and don't worry about perfect cleaness (tend to avoid white tops for DCs going through messy eating stage though).

Shannaratiger · 25/06/2008 12:56

DS is 21 mnths. Guess I will have to try biological first, then non-bio to rinse, Not very green though.

whispywhisp · 25/06/2008 13:27

Hi all

Having a bad day today. I'm so tired which isn't helping. DH wasn't well last night so had me awake most of the night. He shouldn't have gone to work but he has. I don't even know where he is today.

Been and done a week's shop in Sainsburys. Again over £100. I always shop as economically as I can and buy Sainsbury's Basics, like Tesco Value, yet it still costs so much each week. We eat a lot of fruit and veg and I think that's where the costs have gone up.

So apart from fork out a lot on food shopping today I've also only managed to get one load of washing done and hoovered downstairs and its afternoon already.

dylsmum - I'm sorry to hear you've had your car broken into. What a shock for you. I have a removeable radio/cd player in my car - I'm always leaving it in - I must remember to take it out.

sagacious · 25/06/2008 13:29

I try to buy dark coloured clothing

I have been using the Oxi clean "simple" stain remover on whites so far no itchies and its pretty good on getting some stuff out

DS at 21 months was pretty similar shanna some days he'd barely have a yogurt and a bowl of cereal.
He's now six whippet thin but an eating machine!

dyls your list still looks good !

I have:

Cleaned under the sofa
OMG ! The crap that was under there (mainly food wrappers.. ds sneaks stuff out of the cupboards!)

Nice delivery van man has bought in our new patio furniture so thats a job for dh to sort out later.

Off to potter in the garden for a bit

Bewilderbeast · 25/06/2008 13:30

afternoon all dyls sorry about the car

done

bed made
lunches made
quick tidy of one kitchen surface
ensuite s&S (not as good as it sounds as we never use it because of plumbing problems so really its just taking the dust off)
ds dropped at granny's
hair appt made
