hellogoodbye have you found the bird yet?
whispy have a sit down and a cup of tea
waves to babyj

Off for a cup of tea (and a sit in the garden.. sod the potter)

sagacious · 25/06/2008 13:32

Gah ! And hi bewilder

Right ! I really am going now !

whispywhisp · 25/06/2008 13:42

Thanks Saga...cup of tea already here. Sat here typing this. Does that count?!

I've got to make my way down to nursery in about an hour to pick up dd2 and then over to school to pick up dd1. Gives me just enough time to tidy up so I can come home to a clean and tidy house and start all over again!

I've been and pottered in our garden too. I love wandering around dead-heading bits and watering other bits. I really need to look at digging a bit up so I can grow my own veg. It's got to be cheaper than buying it?! Ideally could do with an allotment but where do I get the spare time from?

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 14:05

whispywhisp please dont forget it again, its really not worth it [learnt the hard way emoticon]
have you got a diff shop you can go to? i popped into sainsburys for a few bits the other week and buy as economically as poss and was shocked at how much it came to, much more expensive than asda!
saga i normally have that done by 10-10.30 latest then i can go out etc with dd not feeling guilty. have finished it all now, and am starting to get annoyed as opposed to feeling sorry for myself about the car- i'm sure i've got loads stuffed away that can go on ebay so am going to have a good sort through everywhere to raise the money. no selfish theif is gonna spoil my kiddies having a holiday!
does anyone know if there is a cheap listing day coming up on ebay?

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 14:14

and my day gets better- we now have a powercut!!

whispywhisp · 25/06/2008 14:15

Yea we've got a Tesco and an Asda. I've had some vouchers for Sainsburys which is why I've been going there plus I find their fresh food much fresher and lasts longer.

whispywhisp · 25/06/2008 14:16

Yep...I must remember to take my radio out of my car. DH is forever telling me to remember. I just hope that as my car is parked right outside my house no one would dare to break into it...wishful thinking perhaps.

babyjjbaby · 25/06/2008 16:09

ohno ur not having a very good day dyls

i have done the washing took me ages and hung it out got the mower ouyt to do the grass but can't be bothered to do it

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 16:11

i hope so for you whispywhisp. unfortunately i'm in a flat and cant park right outside my windows as so had to park on the other side- do you think when the policemen that are coming this evening get here they will give me a ticket i'm on single yellow lines- dont want to add to my expense!!

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 16:14

bless i was explaining to my ds about the car and how its going to cost lots to fix the window so there'll be no little treats before we go on holiday- trips out, ice creams at park, try and walk more places etc etc.
he said ok i'm gonna go through my room switch off the ps 2 etc at the wall so they dont waste elec, and i'll use my ds instead of the ps2 as it wont use as much energy. and when we go out i wont ask for anything
so sweet made me want to give him a big hug and kiss, but we were walking down the road and think he would have got even more annoyed with me than when i do these things at home

Jas · 25/06/2008 16:22

Haven't read everything, but wanted to put in a top(free) tip for getting stains out.Try hanging it out in the brightest sunshine you can get, for the whole day.I hung out dd1s school tshirt which she spilled spag bol on yesterday, and almost all of it is bleached out!

scattyspice · 25/06/2008 16:42

jas that is a good tip. I've found that too.

Right done list:
hoover
dust
DCs beds
BR
clean under bed.

To do:
Our bedding
Mirrors
BR floor.
Fridge/mw
Kitchen surfaces.

Dusting question: what do you use to dust? Feather duster, traditional duster, e cloth, disposable dusters etc?

sagacious · 25/06/2008 16:45

I have a bag of rags
I also have some very funky (and stupidly expensive) patterned cloths which I don't like to get dirty (I feel I have lost the plot a bit on that one)

Sunlight is currently working its magic on the beerstains on my cream curtains ATM

dylsmum1998 · 25/06/2008 16:47

i have a feather duster i use for hard to reach places but a yellow duster otherwise

Jas · 25/06/2008 17:02

ecloth, not that I do actual dusting very often.

scattyspice · 25/06/2008 17:05

LOL saga like the fabulous duster idea!

whispywhisp · 25/06/2008 17:10

Normal dusters...when they get really grubby I stick them round a wash.

dyls...I've been burgled, twice - both times when I was a teenager. Its a horrible feeling knowing someone has been in your property and taken something that belongs to you, left a mess for you to clear up and then have the hassle of claiming. With the first burglary my Dad was arrested! I can remember having to give my fingerprints too. It was horrible. Really did make me feel very sick. As a result I'm really careful when I leave the house - all windows shut etc etc but must admit I take it for granted that no-one would break into my car.

Anyway...got to go and clean out some hutches now, fold up some washing, do the washing up, bath DD2 and go pick up DD1 from her mates and pick up another friend who is staying the night. All good fun eh?

Hi all,
just checking in from holiday.. turns out the campsite has wireless broadband..
am trying to keep the mobile home tidy by keeping up with my fly routines..
Hope everyone is well, DS2 is going to loose weight this holiday as he has decided he doesn't like french food.. barely eaten anything aside from bread since we arrived.

Hello everyone - especially HelloGoodbye, because you have just inspired me to join!

OK My name's Notquitegrownup and I need to fly too. I've completely got out of any routine of housework (never been very good at it really) and need to seriously declutter before I can get anything done, but feel quite overwhelmed by it all at the moment. I have two dss, who are now at full time school, so I have no excuse (apart from having two part-time jobs and hayfever, I guess!)

I know the theory of doing a bit at a time, so here I am, signing in, and hoping that I can get some filing of papers done tonight, and something else useful tomorrow.

Jas · 25/06/2008 17:53

Ruby - You weren't mean, but you refrained from giving me a virtual hug, which although nice,in reality just made me cry more
I'm glad you had a better day today.

NotQuiteGrownUpWelcome - You may find Flylady babysteps useful to get yourself ina routine. It seems a bit of a slow way to start, but really does have longer lasting effects than just doing one huge clean up then slipping back into old habits

scattyspice · 25/06/2008 18:16

Hi NQGU Flylady is the only way to keep on top of housework (I've found).

Hi Greyskull hope you're having a good holiday (weather nice?).

Dyl you're DS sounds really grown up.

I've just had a rant to DCs about wasting money etc (I got cross because they didn't like the pasta sauce as it was a different brand so wouldn't eat tea). Feel a bit bad at shouting, but I think DS got the point a bit. Afterwards he asked if we could make scones instead of buying from the shop to save money .

I've recently acquired some ecloths which are fantastic for dusting, polishing and bathroom.

babyjjbaby · 25/06/2008 18:46
