Does anyone else make shredded wheat?

My boys love it and it is so healthy but aside from high cost the nestle issue is a biggie

Have looked and seem unable to find unbranded version.

If you have found one and tried it - is it nice!?

thanks

Oh my goodness I thought you were asking if mnetters actually made their own shredded wheat!!

I'm sure sainsburys do it.

rosealbie · 22/06/2008 20:48

I was also nosey to see how you actually made shredded wheat!

I think I have seen Sainsbury's own version as well.

ButterflyMcQueen · 22/06/2008 20:49

oh i see - yes silly wording!!!

/wipes brow
I knew that sometimes MN could be a bit hardcore......

rosealbie · 22/06/2008 20:51

come to think of it, the Sainsbury's ones might be like mini shredded wheats but sorry can't help with the name of them.

lucyellensmum · 22/06/2008 20:57

isn't it knitted by a load of nice old grannies??

"does anyone else make shredded wheat?" ROTFL This has to be quote of the week.

ButterflyMcQueen · 22/06/2008 20:58

oh dear!!

still no names for such a product though......

OP posts:
ButterflyMcQueen · 22/06/2008 21:39

OverMyDeadBody · 22/06/2008 21:41

Threadwormm · 22/06/2008 21:41

I weave mine from lentils.

OverMyDeadBody · 22/06/2008 21:41

sainsbos do mini shredded wheat of their own

OverMyDeadBody · 22/06/2008 21:41

I make a mean weetabix though if you would like the recipe?

OverMyDeadBody · 22/06/2008 21:44

I think only Nestle and General Mills (one and the same actually) make shredded wheat.

Kindersurprise · 22/06/2008 21:53

ROFL

I thought that MN was getting a bit organic hardcore in the past months but this is a bit too much for me.

Hope you find an alternative

OrmIrian · 22/06/2008 22:07

You might find own-brand sw but I wouldn't like to guarantee it isn't made by the same company (probably not Nestle anyway).

OverMyDeadBody · 22/06/2008 22:13

exactly Orm.

I think shredded wheat is one of those products though with no own brand alternative.

smurfgirl · 22/06/2008 22:23

I think Morrisons have their own version?

ivykaty44 · 22/06/2008 22:51

sainsbury do it in a brown box with recyclability stuff on letters in box - better than weetvix stuff cardbord

ButterflyMcQueen · 23/06/2008 20:55
