Best dishwasher tablets?

I am about to lose my mind with my dishwasher. No matter what I do, my dishes are still dirty when they come out. And now so is my cutlery. I pre rinse everything, the filter is clean, rinse aid and salt topped up, tried the fairy power soak stuff too. It’s always properly dried on too, so it’s not just a case of re rinsing - I have to actually wash up stuff that comes out.

Is there a trick I’m missing? Is there some amazing dishwasher tablets on the market I simply must have? Please help before I rip the thing out and buy a new one

@blankcanvas3 that is a right pain. I agree with HappyNooYear hat you shouldn't leave it there.
Definitely look up consumer rights and pursue with Meile. I always find an email to the CEO gets things sorted but you'll need to understand your rights beforehand.

I use Sainsbury's powder, occasionally something comes out not clean but usually because its been loaded badly.
I never since, and sometimes DS doesn't scrape the plates very well but no issues usually.
Mine is a Miele, never been a bother. I have never seen a plate like that!

We’ve just replaced an integrated dishwasher - bought it via our local independent appliance store and they got the old one out and the new one in AND all the packaging tidied up within 50 minutes. Honestly, don’t let the actual installation put you off. Also, we had someone from said appliance store come and measure up for us (I cannot overstate our ineptitude in this regard) and he said that full size integrateds are a pretty standard size so you’re not tied to the same brand if you’ve had enough of Miele!

Sounds like filters or spinny arms are clogged up.
Or maybe a drainage issue?
Have you got dishwasher cleaner and run it on a really hot cycle/cleaned all filters door trims etc.
The best diswasher tablet ive tried is fairy platium plus.
Also top up with dishwasher salt and rinse aid.
Perhaps your dishwasher just isnt working properly ? Sounds really frustrating.

It’s been a nightmare, I wouldn’t recommend Miele to anybody! Engineer came out and agreed there was a problem, he ‘fixed’ the issue (it was something to do with the water not heating up so a PP had been right), but it still wasn’t cleaning properly afterwards. Another engineer came, saw that it wasn’t cleaning properly but couldn’t find a diagnosable fault so couldn’t do much other than suggest they replace. Miele have refused to replace even though it’s under warranty because the first engineer ‘fixed the problem’ even though the problem isn’t fixed. It’s just a massive pain because it’s integrated into the kitchen so is going to be a big ish job to replace, but we’re going to have to suck it up and get a new one. Hopefully we’ll be able to claim something back from Miele/home insurance

Read the Martin Lewis SADFART advice. A dishwasher that doesn't dishwash isn't fit for purpose so that's your argument for getting a refund or free repair.

But hopefully you bought it with a credit card because both the retailer and Miele will unlikely to be interested in fulfilling your legal consumer rights.

Definitely not tied to Miele! That’s really handy advice, thank you. We’ve given it another go with emailing the Miele CEO like a PP suggested, and once we have a response we’ll move forward. TBH I hate them now so I really just want at least SOME money back and we’ll go with somebody else for our next one. And I’m also inept at measuring so will definitely get somebody to do this for me 😂

Credit card!!! I didn’t even think of that! Yes we did pay with a CC so we can do a chargeback if we don’t get anywhere! Thank you!

We use Aldi or Lidl cheap all in one tablets, don't rinse, always use the eco cycle except when running a 'machine care' cycle a few times a year if it stops cleaning and everything comes out clean most of the time.
