bianca can't offer advice on 'girl bits/boy bits'. not looking forward to that one either I am sure these lovely ladies will have loads of advice. I did apparently get a book from the library when I was little & read to my sister. About bodies, how babies are made dd is finding her bits very interested at moment..so far we are ignoring, or if she asks .whatzzz that? we say your girly bits terrible parenting I know, she is only just 2
tmh Hope ds1 is feeling better this mornig.Dr says Ellie slightly pink ear & sore throat treat with Calpol. I am sure this will end with the usual Ear Infection. She slept from 815 until 1130, then I was up so much I last count. dh finally brought her in our bed at 6.How's your mum?
tort glad you are safe, sound & dry.how was the weather yesterday/last night?

Morning

Just about to leave for work, hope to get away mid afternoon and perhaps fit in a supermarket shop...

Kids and dh are off to PiL for the day so they won't be home till 7ish. Not sure ds should be going as he's quite under-the-weather with a cold but dh is keen to go and I'll be at work so what can I do? They'll prob be OK.

Will have a mini blitz on the house (or garden if the weatehr stays nice) this afternoon.

Thanks for your thoughts last night everyone. I may look in the local bookshop, see if they have anything to recommend. I don't intend to let dd know I know but will try to tackle some convos about privates soon.

Have a good day, see you later x

Morning Ladies

We have bottom and front bottom for girls bits. Think we'll use proper terms when she is a tad older.

Well the sun is out and the kitchen/living room are still clean and tidy from last night !!! Just need to rehoover the living room later on and of course tidy up toys which my toddler is currently playing with.

Today I hope to spilt the day between playing in the garden with DD and sorting out the bathroom massive cupboard upstairs.

Baby steps for me, if I make a long list it simply won't get done

Morning all

EHM Mum is so much better. I am hoping she goes home after neices 3rd birthday party this afternoon. She is in the shower. DS2 is a lot better this morning - he was a nightmare lastnight too and I have sticky eyes this morning.

DH let me have a lie in and he managed to keep the boys out of the conservatory till 8.30am.

We are not doing much flying today, DH is going for a haircut, then we are off to my neices 3rd birthday at the club, so that should be loads of fun.

I do need to pot up some of our annuals though when we get back and then the ironing.

Glorious day today...sun is shining soooo bright, and it is sooo hot!!

Can't actually go anywhere though, as I have to wait in for my Avon order

Actually I don't mind having another day at home TBH...might mow the back lawn today.

The washing machine has blown up! Quite literally...I was upstairs putting washing away and heard a big POP and a crackle....then as I came down stairs the kitchen was full of smoke
I'm waiting for the door to unlock now to get the washing out.
Luckily a friend has a spare one we can buy for £40....which was on standby the last time it made a funny smell.

Grrrrrrr dont you just hate it when major appliances break!

babyjjbaby · 31/05/2008 11:11

oh luck y u sunshine it's cloudy and misty here lol

Jas · 31/05/2008 12:05

Exploding w/m Luda, but that you have a "new" one lined up.

It is sunny here, and ds' cough is worse, so we're definitely having a playing out day.

DP is in the garden working, and I'm going to potter.

grouchyoscar · 31/05/2008 14:29

Hello

I'm being exceptionally lazy today. I've had enough this week and I need to resgt. at DH agreeing that I do too much tho he hasn't done any thing about it.

Yesterday afternoon I took Ed to Rugby training. They made him so very welcome and I think it will do him a lot of good. He wouldn't go without teddy and blankie and when he got his first contact he ran over for teddy for a cuddle! Awwh, 4 yr old boys

Done

Empty DW
Put away
Clean hob
Shine sink
Check greenhouses
Sort out pea and bean planter
Sweep kitchen
Mop downstairs floors
Mop bathroom floor

to do

Heh heh heh

hope you are all well

BiancaCastafiore · 31/05/2008 16:09

Afternoon

Just home from work, can't be bothered to do much this afternoon so am slumped on the sofa and may stay here!

at your wm Luda! Glad you have another available so quickly

Awww, Ed sounds cute at rugby training Grouchy My ds is completely disinterested in sport of any kind.

Ludaloo · 31/05/2008 16:20

Its quiet on here today....I wish I could say the same about my homelife!

I have a headache from shouting! I had an arguement with DH and he made me shout

then just as I am putting sand in the sand
pit, which I have put on my newly mown front garden, which took me most of yesterday to do....the old man from the garage throws a load of rubbish over the wall!!!!!! I'm standing in the garden with rubbish landing at my feet!!!!!!
So I picked it all back up and chucked it back at him!
Then he stomped over and he shouted at me (not sure what he said...could have been in welsh)
So I lost it and shouted back!!
He then just chucked it all back over again!
What am I supposed to do about him!??
As I started shouting again, he walked off!

My DH has gone to Birmingham to pick up a gearbox so he is out all day (which is just as well I guess!!! I think our entire wheelie bin would have been unloaded!)

Then...if that wasn't enough shouting for one day, DD1 comes in crying that the two other girls in the close have ganged up together and won't let her play (one of them has been here most weekend and had a sleepover on Friday night...and DD1 slept there last night)but the other girl has been on holiday all week and came back this morning so it looks like the other girl has had enough of my DD1!
Anyway...I told my DD1 to ignore them but no...she decides its a much better idea to go over and call one of the girls a "fat pig" and that she is a "selfish twat"!!!

But who have I got to blame for that last comment!!!! (Its what I shouted at DH this morning )

I went round to her house with DD1 and made her apologise to the girl and her rightfully angry mum.

I then apologised to DD1 for shouting at her for swearing, when I had done it myself

Bianca I am with you on feeling like a bit of a terrible mum

Anyway...shouting all over with, I have a DD2 with a smelly nappy almost asleep on my lap so I had better do that before she drops off completely!

EustaciaVye · 31/05/2008 16:21

Afternoon all. Just been out and bought lovely cushions for my sofa and chair. I bought 3 different ones as couldnt find any matching. They are nice though and I can just about get over the extra 'clutter factor'

Ludaloo · 31/05/2008 16:32

Oh...and it took me 2 and a half hours to sort my Avon orders out too (that didn't help with the stress factor either)

EV cushions sound lovely

jingleyjen · 31/05/2008 16:49

Afternoon all EV I love cushions, I find they change the mood of the room.
Luda I would be so tempted to have got the hosepipe out and squirt it over the fence at him. As for getting cross with the kids.. Hey it sounds like you are a great mum Has your Avon order arrived yet?
Bianca I don't know how old your DD is I remember my mum giving me some book to read, trying to find the title of it at the moment for my friend (her 8 year old seems to enjoy talking about kissing and sex with her friends) If I find it I will let you know the title.
GO guess it is a good start that your DH agrees that you are doing too much? Enjoy relaxing on the sofa.
Jas sunny here too kids are in the garden, & Dh gardening. Hope your DS's cough gets better soon, tthere is a horrid one doing the rounds at school at the mo, I am glad we are on half term hopefully it will break the cycle.
JJ did you make it to the beach ?
TMH good to hear your mum is feeling better.. hope you had fun at the birthday party. DH is digging up the pansies and tulips and planting out bizzylizzies for the summer, hope we are past any major cold snap. thanks for your kind words in the last few weeks..
EHM thanks for the thread. What are you up to this weekend?

TheMadHouse · 31/05/2008 17:02

Afternoon all

The boys had a fab time at the party. My SIL is such a good hostess. It was a real old fashioned party with pass the parcel and best dancer etc. It helps to run a social club and use the lounge. They even had two bouncy castles in it

It also helps that my Bro is a big child anyway, so she is used to it. Baby L was there and he loves being with all the children. It is so nice to see him look around.

It is lo0vley and sunny, so the boys are "rudey nudey dudey" and enjoying themsleves. I am going to pot my plants up.

BabayJ Where are you at the moment then? Do you move around a lot?

Bianca Hope you are chillin

Luda DS1 said Bloody the other day. I caugght my mum saying it and told her off. Blame in on DH

EHM Hope Ellie has allowed you some rest throughout the day

GO Rugby sounds fun. I think DS1 would love it. He is too small for anything but socca tots here and I am not keen on them having to wear a silly yellow uniform at 3 and also it is on a sunday and we tend to all go out as a family

JJ Dont worrry about the words. It can be tough having a down time. I dont like to tell people in RL, as I get worried about sterotyping

Anyway - I am off to get pjs and stuff out and then sort out a snack. They filled up on party food

BiancaCastafiore · 31/05/2008 17:08

I have been sitting on the sofa the whole time since my last post, other than getting up to make a cup of tea and eat buscuits

I need a kick to get up and get something done this afternoon or I'll end up with myself for wasting time.

Luda what a day you're having! I'm happy to stay sitting here and chat on MSN if you'd like....

Jen the local bookshop recommended a Babette Cole book about hormones etc but it looked too old - I don't need to talk about periods/sex with dd yet!! I think I'll just have to take the chance for a chat with ehr next time she has a bath/shower and we're talking bodies....

dylsmum1998 · 31/05/2008 17:18

bianca there is another BAbette Cole book, i forget the title its about how babies get there, and some funny/shocking depending on your frame of mind pics. its all done in cartoon, I'm sure i have it, cant remember tho if i borroweed it from library or bought it. possibly help.

today i have titied, hoovered and done the washing.
then had a wander round the Dickens with Ds, we had a go on those swing rides i ended up feeling a bit sick, I'm not good with those kind.
had a giggle in the indiana jones joke house.
then went for an all you can eat chinese and ate far too much- but it was nice! before going off to collect a bike for me off a lady on freecycle.
have now just got in from an hours bike ride with ds, not to many scary wobbly moments considering how long since i rode a bike. was easier than i expected.
now need to do some ironing
i'm being yelled- back soon

BiancaCastafiore · 31/05/2008 17:22

Dyls we have 'Mummy laid an egg' somewhere - is that the book you mean? I haven't seen it for a while...it must be around somewhere in this pig-sty of a house....

I am leaving the sofa now and hope to get on top of things a bit more

dylsmum1998 · 31/05/2008 17:35

don't know if it is quite what your looking for Bianca its called "mummy never told me"
the text of the book is
mummy never told me that life is full of little secrets
like, what is my tummy button for... and how did it get there?
why is mummy so busy that she has no time for me?
why must i go to school..when Mummy was expelled from hers?
what does the tooth fairy really look like?
mummy never told me that boys are different from girls..or that its hard to tell the grown up ones apart!
why do grown ups have hair in their ears, and up there nostrils, but sometimes none on their heads?
doctors can chelp them choose a new nose. But they dont tell you what happens to the old ones!
she didnt tell me why some grown up go to sleep with their teeth in a jar beside them, or why they spend so long in the bathroom!
why do mummy and daddy lock me out there bedroom?
where do they go at night?
where do mummies and daddies who cant have babies get one from?
how can you love them and hate them at the same time?
why do some women prefer to fall in love with other women..and some men with other men?
but i'm not worried.
she'll tell me when the time comes!

its full of cartoon type pictures that help illustrate the words- giving some jokey ideas to help chat about very grown up things. i have used it several times with ds to discuss things, mainly around the time i was having dd.

dylsmum1998 · 31/05/2008 17:35

TheMadHouse · 31/05/2008 18:45

EV I missed your post about cushions earlier. I love cushions, have bright pinl ones in the sitting room and brown ones in the conservatory

BabyJ It would seriously pi** me off doing the beds. We had a tourer as a child and it was the bain of the holidays

The boys are eating raw sugar snaps and popcorn.

I have potted two hanging baskets 5 pots and my 3 tier planter, but have run out of plants, pots and compost. So we will get some tomorrow.

Jas · 31/05/2008 19:30

We've been sleeping on the sofa bed for ages now....I'm getting pretty p*ssed off with it tbh, def wouldn't want to be ding it forever.
