dylsmum1998 · 31/05/2008 22:53

well i have successfully avoided the ironing again today- i have been to shop to get some bread to go with our tea.
cleaned my bike, scrubbed the tent watched caualty and sat playing buzz with ds on his playstation for nearly 2 hours- that game is seriously addictive, and one of the only ones i can win
am going to go to bed now although not feeling v. tired but promised ds if its not raining we'll go for a bike ride first thing!

Morning

DH let me have another lie in, I fell like crap - sore throat and bunged up nose. I have what DS2 still has.

It is peeing down here, so our day at fountains abbey is out, not so good in the wet.

Ruby It is great being cot free. DS2 is in a cot bed as a bed.

Dyls You would not be bike rideing here. Too wet.

I am really this morning. The boys have been adorable. I think that mum just does change the dynamic and that they see her treating me badly and they follow her lead. They are back to saying please and thankyou and have even told me they love me this morning.

EustaciaVye · 01/06/2008 10:11

we out DD2 in a bed a couple of weeks ago

TheMadHouse · 01/06/2008 10:13

We are still in a grobag from DS2 though, DS1 wanted to move to a quilt in his big bed, but DS2 is attached to the grobags

EHM · 01/06/2008 10:41

quick to all going out with friend for lunch today so trying to get ton top of house stuff. Not read thread since yesterday hope you are all ok? We also had some bad news last night. We met a family on a holiday to Cuba Sept 2001, we remained in touch & have visited them & them us. Sadly the man passed away suddenly on Tuesday after a heart attack. He was only 50! Leaving a lovely wife & 2 young teenage sons

EHM that is so sad and scarey all at the same time
Ruby DS2 is going into a bed when we get back from holiday, we did it this way with DS1 and it seemed to work quite well as he had just had 10 days in an uncomforatble travel cot to a comfy bed seemed like a dream - I feel a little sad at the idea we may never need the cot again.
TMH I love fountains abbey but you are right not the best in the rain. whats plan B? Good to hear things are nicer now your Mum has gone

Well had a very long lie in this morning (didn't get up till 10!!!!) The kids are behaving but the house is a mess... Will try to rectify this during the day.
Got lots of cutting out to do ready for creative craft club I run on Monday afternoons.

scattyspice · 01/06/2008 15:28

Hi all.

EHM

TMH I like cushions too . Spent a little money I don't have in Matalan last wk on vases and dried flowers etc to 'make our house a home' I'm sick of waiting til the decoratings done to add finishing touches.

Ruby, Dyl, Bianca I'm paying attention to the 'grown up chats' advice. We've had some of that already DS and DD share a bath and DD is fascinated by DS willy and wants one .

I am jiggered today, up half the night with Ds who developed exisential angst after watching Dr Who (I shouldn't have let him watch it). He is starting to ask about death alot .

TheMadHouse · 01/06/2008 16:19

EHM That is so sad . My dad was only 54 when he died. It is hard losing a loved one or a friend. You have my smpathy

Scatty IKWYM We still havnt decorated the kitchen or our bedroom yet, but its the little things that make the difference.

JJ Plan B was to go to FILs farm, but they were going out for the day, so we ended up at Newcastle getting some extra bedding for DS1s bunk beds at John Lewis. we had a nice time, ate out and only bought the essentials.

Plan is so a shower for all the men in the house. Sausage and mash for tea and then Gladiators, whilst I iron.

scattyspice · 01/06/2008 17:42

Have done laundry and packed bags for tomorrow. DH washed BR floor .

grouchyoscar · 01/06/2008 17:55

Oh hell EHM I must learn to read the thread before I post. So about your news

BiancaCastafiore · 01/06/2008 18:25

EHM sorry to hesr about your friend.

We had plans to do a couple of things today but both were cancelled due to wet weather
So, dd came and helped me at the supermarket, then the weatehr perked up so we have been pottering in the garden while the boys cleaned the car. It's been very pleasant.

Peeked over garden wall to neighbours to discover they have added to the hens/cockrels/rabbits/gp/ducks/goose and now have a daddy goose and 3 goslings 5 geese in a small garden is just too much - the one thay had is so noisy I can't imagine the early summer mornings now they'll be 5 of them to join in with the cockrels and hens

Have packed the school bags ready for the morning. Not looking forward to the early start at all.

BiancaCastafiore · 01/06/2008 18:26

must preview, sorry about typos!

TheMadHouse · 01/06/2008 18:29

Bianca Thats a propper menagerie. I would love some hens, but no room. Sounds like a nice peaceful day

Scatty I wish you look, star charts dont really work for us

GO Glad to hear that you are taking it easy. Snap on the cold.

Well boys are fed, showered and watching Gladiators.

I have had to wash the bathroom floor as the cat is unwell and in hiding

I have also managed most of the ironing and put away what I have done. I will finnish once the TD has finnished.

I am going to have a hot bath, try and clear my head a bit and then Indian for DH and me and an early night

dylsmum1998 · 01/06/2008 21:10

evening all.

EMH sorry to hear about your friend
bianca would love some hens etc, but not in a smalll garden, thats a few birds they have isnt it.
tmh glad your boys are back to normal now. it must be hard when your mums there too.
GO you always amaze me with how much you manage to get done in a day

go up today and ds and i decided we'd walk to town and get bike chains, hats, he wanted a new one and i didnt have one. whilst in halfords saw that the bike seat for tots was down from £40 to £25, so i got that for dd. oh my god was it a pig to fit took me over an hour to do.
then we had some lunch before going to collect dd from her dads.
ended up shooting up to toys r us for a bike hat for her as halfords didnt have any small enough. suprise surprise she picked the Thomas one
when we got back went for a short ride to try out the bike seat. it made balancing when at a stand still and just as i move off quite awkward so i pushed her to the vines grassy area then got on to get used to it. once i got going was ok apart from one moment when my jeans got caugt on the chain, thought we were coming off then . apart from that was good dd seemed to enjoy it omn the bike.
came back had dinner and watched the lion the witch and the wardrobe with dc.
have now got them showered and to bed. and rewally need to do some ironing. think i'll do 15mins then stop.

i'm really tat half term is over already, we've had a really nice week. back to the boringness of school tomorrow and dont think i'm the only one a bit about it

tortoise · 01/06/2008 21:55

Evening all.
EHM Sorry about your friend.
Not read anything but last post!

Been a busy fun day! Ignored the massive mess indoors and spent most of the day outside!
Half of back lawn mowed. Bit of strimming done with my new strimmer. Never used one before!

Also made full use of this which i bought last week. Had loads of fun with DS's with it.

Had one shower of rain so we all sat and watched a DVD. Then went back outside!

I washed the kitchen floor yesterday, wish i hadn't bothered. Covered in bits of grass tonight which i had to sweep up.

Inset day tomorrow so i get to enjoy another day with them home. Need to tidy a bit though. Have bloke coming Tuesday to do annual gas checks!

dylsmum1998 · 01/06/2008 22:27

thats set looks great tort glad you've had a good day and very of your inset day, wish mine were home still.

i just spent my planned 15mins doing the dreaded ironing and suprised myself by doing a whole hour and finished the pile! i forgot to set a timer, which is prob a good thing cos at least its done now.
it just needs putting away now, but wont do that til morning as it night wake dc and they went to bed lovely tonight, both snoring by 9pm
