Recommend a hard floor cleaner?

I’ve got an engineered oak floor and although I mop it with a damp plat mop regularly I feel it would benefit from a good buff.
I like the look of those electric floor cleaners with the two spinning circular heads but the aircraft ones but don’t want to spend £200.
Anyone got a decent one that does the job at less expense?

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you've landed here looking for hard floor cleaner recommendations, we've recently updated our best hard floor cleaners page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users.

Have a look on Ebay for refurb models. Not quite what you're looking for (I have lvt and needed something that would do a deeper clean and quicker than mopping), but I've got the Shark Hydro vac and it is so worth it. I bought it from the Shark eBay shop where they sell returned and refurbed models.

Be careful they can make floors very slippery! I remember ending up flat on my back under the dining table when my Mum borrowed one and did the floor at the bottom of the stairs!

That’s a consideration!
