Hi all
Sorry have been mega busy
tort is your tooth still playing up ????
Ring the dentist !

I have a policeman coming round this afternoon to take a statement (a piece of land we own was broken into) so I want the house to be tidy but not too immaculate I don't want to look like I've made too much of a effort in case he thinks I'm hiding something

God I'm weird

As soon as I see a copper I start feeling guilty!

Back later off to get dc's in order

babyjjbaby · 20/05/2008 08:39

Morning all

My two are being mighty monsters this morning. DS1 woke far too early and is tired and wingey and DS2 is winding him and therefore, me up.

I am taking them to toddlers this morning and a freind is keeping an eye on them whilst I go to the consultants.

I need to crack on if I can find ump umph at lunchtime after dropping DS1 at preschool.

I will eat my lunch whilst watching chelsea and then try and get motivated.

BiancaCastafiore · 20/05/2008 08:55

I finally have a day at home so must make progress with the house as it's all getting me down a bit.

BiancaCastafiore · 20/05/2008 09:40

Hello EHM Welcome back, hope you had a great holiday x

TheMadHouse · 20/05/2008 09:41

GO I hope you are feeling better and that the nurse finally gets back to you. I need some help please. DS1 wants to write and read. He is great with his numbers and can count to 10 and add and subtract to 10 too, but I dont want to teech him his letters and wrighting the wrong way, as I know it is hard to unlearn something. What are you using for Ed?

The nursery are no help really as they said he should just be playing and socialising, but he is pushing us to learn. They have given me a jolly phonics chart showing the actions for the letters, but that it it. I need things with the way that the letters are formed etc.

TheMadHouse · 20/05/2008 09:42

Waves to EHM and Ellie - hope you had a great time

See you all later x

grouchyoscar · 20/05/2008 10:17

Morning you lovely lot

Thanks for the thread Jas Bianca That's a heck of a list. Good luck
Saga I know what you mean
Waves to baby
Welcome back EHM

So DS1 is showing interest in learning TMH. Just go with it. Ed has always been surrounded by books and text. We did silly things like point out signs, shop names, yoghurt cartons etc. I got hold of some leapfrog DVDs and he seemed to click with them (though I think complex words one as a first was a bit ambitious ) I just put them on as moving wallpaper and he started to pick up letter sounds and basic blends. I think him being in reception has helped too, though I think they feel I'm pushing him too hard (?!? why, cos I work with him?) but if DS wants to learn, let him do it.

I've put myself to bed. I got up at 6:30 to peg the washing out. Reorganised the porch. Did my morning routines, got Ed to school. I was going to go to the next town's market but....I was very staggerry getting home and my legs are tingly. And I feel very tired.

The house is tidy so why not

This aft I've got Ed's course to do and I'll just go with the flow as to what happens

Hope you all have lovely sunny days

tortoise · 20/05/2008 10:26

Morning all.
I must get as much done as possible today.
Also need to get a mouse trap! Found new dropping in the kitchen!

I have tried the dentists twice so far and no answer despite leaving it ringing for ages. Will keep trying and if no luck will pop in later. Hurting more today.

tortoise · 20/05/2008 10:27

OK I am on hold. < scared emoticon >

BiancaCastafiore · 20/05/2008 10:30

Good luck Tort!

dylsmum1998 · 20/05/2008 10:33

morning all

GO take it easy today
TMH ds was like this, do you know how the school your lo will go to does things? i went to visit the school with him, found out how they teach things and used that as a guide.
also GO's ideas using signs etc in the street, car number plates etc etc to help
bianca wow your planning to be busy- good luck

today i need to:
wash up done
load washewrdone
unlod washer
fold dry washingdone
iron
hoover dustdone
S&S bathroomdone

sort out camping things- i am taking the dc away for the first time by myself this weekend. i asked xp if i could borrow some of his equip. he said yes, then changed his mind last night when i said he couldnt come with us, i wanted to go alone. so i know have to visit shops to work out where cheapest place to get things are. i need
a lantern
a saucepan set
a gas regulator and hose
a mallet
could do with a sleeping bg for ds, but not sure i can stretch to one. i have one single one, but its quite a thin one think he'll have to use that and take his duvet. i have a double one dd and i use.

i'm determined xp is not going to spoil this weekend for us. he's just being spiteful and knows all i own is a tent and a gas bottle!
what he doesnt know is i have nanny and grandads old but usable camping stuff they no longer use. they are giving me a cooker stand, a table and a cooker, presuming it works am going round when i've bought the hose etc to clean it all up and test it out- its all been stored in their shed so just needs a wash.

Appointment at 5pm unless she phones before then.

tortoise · 20/05/2008 10:42

Can feel the gap with my tongue! eww!!

gem1981 · 20/05/2008 11:18

tortoise at least you know you are the way to getting it sorted - I used to have quite a handsome dentist so I didn't mind going, the new guy is nothing to write home about though!!

Good luck!

hoover/dust staircase done
mission done

just had lunch with Ds and we are now going for a walk to the shops - looks like rain though

TheMadHouse · 20/05/2008 12:42

Thanks for the advise GO I struggle with it as I want him to be a baby and he wants to grow up. He knows some of his letters from what you say ie M is mummys letter, R is my letter etc

He is in preschool at the school he will go to and their advise is to let him play. This is hard when he wants to know how to read and Write.

Lunch pots are washed and I am going to crack on

Jas · 20/05/2008 12:48

I've just tried the ludaloo method of fridge repair (Kick it!) and it worked

For now, at least.
Thanks Bianca for the link. I've bkmarked it for future use. No dress shopping today, as I'm being sensible.....dp has no definite work after today

Welcome back EHM- Ihope you enjoyed your holiday

Ll@ saga feeling guilty....I think we all do that.I know I do.

Dylsmum - Tescos had some cheap camping stuff in this week, including a mallet. Shame you didn't kow you'd need it earlier, or we could've sent you some of the light stuff.

Bad day here. Cat at vets, may have broken leg

mad - how old is he? DD1 is the same. We do lots of l is for, r is for and so on. We play eyespy etc. I am trying to do verbal stuff with her and not push the writing as I dont want to get it wrong. We read things though, books, cereal packets etc and she is picking up letters. She can now read and write CAT mummy emoticon as well as her and our names. I think you need to stick with lower case letters and phonic sounds. My pre-school gave me a sheet with letter formation on but your infants school may have them if you phone up and ask for one.
