Morning

Morning routine done. I am running to the loo with the picolax, so I am not sure how much flying is going to get done today.

Need to sort childcare for tomorrow and lift vack from the hospital. DH has meetings all day and it looks like 1 can not be cancelled

Still cold and wet here oh inland is much nicer

Ludaloo · 13/05/2008 09:13

Morning

Still sunny here but the wind is up today so quite chilly.

DS is still sick so he is at home again today. Girls have both gone to school and nursery.

Have the plumber comming today to look at the emersian heater AT LAST! We have now waited nearly 4 weeks to have it looked at....that is a long bloody time to go without hot water!
Have to clear the airing cupboard out ready and do just a general house tidy.

TheMadHouse · 13/05/2008 09:27

oh my - the picolax is working - TMI Alert.

It is like niagra falls is comming out of my bottom

sagacious · 13/05/2008 09:30

Hands madhouse a moist toilet tissue

TheMadHouse · 13/05/2008 09:33

Oh thanks Sag I bought loads in just in case and also am using nappie rash cream on my bum too

I am just wondering if I dare go to playgroup

sagacious · 13/05/2008 09:55

Crikey I suppose it depends how much warning you get!

Hope it eases soon sounds a nightmare

Ludaloo · 13/05/2008 10:00

OOOCH TMH Sounds a reet pain in the ar$* (scuse the pun
I don't think I would risk toddler group, I'd like to be at home if there was impending eruptions so to speak.

Poor you...hope it isn't too horrible xx

tortoise · 13/05/2008 10:23

Morning all.
DD2 at pre-school/ Other 3 at school.
I AM going to sort the kitchen!!

WM is on. Am washing hats, gloves and winter coats ready to bag up and chuck in the loft for the summer.

Sunny but chilly wind here so far. Should warm up though.

TMH Don't think i would risk going out either. Hope it eases soon. Hope you sort childcare etc for tomorrow too.

Luda Hooray! How have you managed without hot water for so long? Hope DS is better soon.

Jas · 13/05/2008 11:16

Morning
I wouldn't go out either TMH. Picolax is very effective
I hope you get childcare for tomorrow sorted out. Will you have to go aloneif dh can't cancel his meeting?

I've been back at work with my sandwich selling friend this week, but am not sure it is going to be practical. I take ds, but he is such a climber /destructive child at times, I'm worried about the damage he is doing.....he dismantled her gas fireplacetoday She has two dds his age so in theory her place is childproof but in reality it obviously isn't my ds proof.
I'm going to try again tomorrow and decide then, as I could really do with the money.

Luda The cap on the first order sounds odd, I hope you manage to stay just under it, and keep that level of orders going.

Ludaloo · 13/05/2008 11:16

RANT ALERT ~~~ RANT ALERT ~~~ RANT ALERT

What is it with people ATM!???

Its like sodding Eastenders here in the ludaloo neighbourhood!

DH was woken up Saturday morning, very early by our next door neighbour, who had come back from a night out. She was very drunk....let her dogs out for a bit and then was screaming at them to get them back in 10 mins later.

DH woke up that morning and went off to work, only to come bounding back in with a face on him.....there was the biggest pile of dog poo you have ever seen right outside our gate. (massive....if I didn't know better I'd have thought a bear had done it!)
Anyway....next doors dogs are huge dogs...and as DH had heard her let them out in the early hours, he guessed that it was probably her dogs who had done it, so he left a message on a piece of wood asking the owners to please pick it up and that it was irresponsible to leave it especially as small children play there.

Anyway, my next door neighbour then took offense and asked if the message was meant for her....she then said DH was being petty and should have picked it up if he was that bothered! So Dh had a row with her saying he wasn't accusing anyone, just that it was out of order for whoever let their dog do it and could they please clean it up.
She gave some stupid excuse that she knows it wasn't her dogs as they don't poo in a pile, they poo in a straight line!!! (WTF!!!)
Anyway....to save further arguements DH picked it up (YUK)
He was not happy!!!

Now just this morning, he caught the man across the road clearing the rubbish off the forecort of his garage (He owns a garage which backs onto our front grass)
and dropping it over the wall into our garden!!!!
He has been doing it for a while but we have never caught him doing it. Last week he dumped a load of polystyrene in our garden which the kids ripped up into a gazzillion bits!
So DH flew out the door and asked him to stop....and the man told him to f** Off! and it had nothing to do with him!
DH lost it and swore back, saying it has plenty to do with him as it is landing in our garden!!!

What is it with the world!!!!!

Jas · 13/05/2008 11:19

@ your neighbours Ludaloo

grouchyoscar · 13/05/2008 11:23

Morning

TMH I'm having 'squeaky bum' in sympathy with you, why is there no dignity in hospitals when you're a mum?

Nuts I think we have something in common from what you said yesterday. If you want, you can mail me at [email protected] rather than clogging the thread up.

Hello and Grouchy Waves to ALL

I am wondering why I am the only person who can peel themselves off a mattress before 7:30 in this house I'm so pleased I have developed an organised bedtime routine or mornings would just be abject chaos (yeah, like it isn't already ) Finally caught up with my morning routines tho so the house can tick over

Been searching for DH's Birthday pressy (not til July but I like to be on top of things) But every local Argos is out of stock (grrh). It's a bargain there so I'll have to keep checking.

Have to pop to school this aft to do SEAL with Ed then single parent time as DH will be late home again tonight.

Ooops, prattling on again, sorry, I should be pottering and hotspot hunting

Big hugs to all

tortoise · 13/05/2008 11:45

@ your neighbours. too!
GO Hope you manage to get DH's present. At least you do have someone coming home to you in the evenings. It is hard to manage alone isn't it?

Washing up is done. Loads more to do though. On a bit of a go slow a the moment. And keep eating.

grouchyoscar · 13/05/2008 12:02

Tort As I've said before, I deeply admire any single mum, it's very very hard work. I truely don't know how you do it.

Sometimes I do feel like I'm a single mum with 2 kids anyway (they have a 36 year age difference )

Luda I thought I had probs with my neighbours. The woman next door had a go at me down town last week and is maintaing the atmosphere. at yours though.

Ludaloo · 13/05/2008 12:15

I have every admiration for single parents too.....sometimes I feel like I'm one too GO

My neighbours have really annoyed me.....dh is livid! He reckons that if he catches the man again he'll go and dump the contents of our wheelie bin in his front garden and as for her next door....we are both watching out for her dogs....her dog can only poo in a line indeed!!!!!!!! What kind of an excuse is that FGS!

Anyway....such is life!

House is reletively tidy, plumber will hopefully be here soon. I am just going to make a lasagna for tonights supper

Ludaloo · 13/05/2008 12:18

Oh tort....we have had to light a fire every time we need hot water (so really we have actually had hot water but it is such a faff.....also in this heat, who wants a fire on! It makes the house unbearable)
Hopefully he'll fix it now today so we just flick a switch to heat the water, not have to light the fire all the time, it is rediculously hot at night... so we only light i when we absolutely have to have hot water.

intravenouscoffee · 13/05/2008 12:26

Hello all, have been away for a while cos DH has had the past couple of weeks off. Lots of lovely family time However, house has degenerated into complete chaos so I need to get back on the fly wagon today. Routines are all to pot and there's just mess everywhere! Will post a list in an attempt to be organised:

To Do
Wash dishes
Have lunch
Clean kitchen floor
Vacuum lounge
Dust downstairs

A good start if I manage it all.. see you all later after I've achieved stuff.

Luda - your neighbours sound completely mad! Hope the plmber sorts things out
TMH - Picolax is v effective so you're a brave woman if you go anywhere after taking it!
Hello to everyone else

tortoise · 13/05/2008 12:28

Still lol @ poo in a line! Mickey doesn't manage a line! Actually, was close to a line the other day after he ate sandwiches wrapped in cling film! (thats vomit face!)

Kitchen is improving. Have a 2 clean, clear worktops. Chucked broken microwave outside . Don't know what else to do with it. Will have to ask someone to take it to the dump for me.

Better crack on. Time flying as usual!

tortoise · 13/05/2008 12:29

Luda Meant to add. glad you weren't completly without hot water.

sagacious · 13/05/2008 12:45

luda Wow ! Can't believe the bare faced cheek of some people!

Well I have 2 childfree hrs to get this house sorted IV I'm going to make a start with your list if you don't mind !

intravenouscoffee · 13/05/2008 12:56

Good luck with it Sag! DD has just woken up ridiculously early from her nap so doubt if I'll get half of it done. Why did I encourge her to start crawling? Why?

TheMadHouse · 13/05/2008 12:56

Afternoon

Tort I agree I find it hard anyway, being on my own well - hats off to you lady Oh and postage was £3.50

I went to playgoup and DS1 is at school. I am wiped though, so just trying to get stuff sorted.

My mum is coming over tonight to stay with the boys tomorrow, as we have to leave at 6.45am

DH dropping me off, Bro collecting me. BF taking DS1 to Preschool, DH collecting him

So all in all sorted really.

Jas · 13/05/2008 13:02

Get some rest TMH You must be shattered.
I do hope they can helpyou tmorrow...Is this trying to find out the cause of the anaemia?

I'm going to do your list too IC
Glad you've had a nice couple of weeks. There is no point spending ^all& your time doing housework, and missing out on the fun family stff after all.

tortoise · 13/05/2008 13:02
