Where do you store reusable carrier bags?

We have far too many carrier bags and I don’t know where to store them. They take up two kitchen drawers.

Where do you store yours?

Under the kitchen sink. I had a cull the other week, took a load to the supermarket for recycling and now have about three rather than the bag-for-life -stuffed-full I had before.

In a reusable carrier bag in the car boot.

whoscoatsthatjacket2012 · 20/06/2024 18:16

I just throw them in my boot.

Xanadu58 · 20/06/2024 18:17

In the cupboard under the stairs .

Friendshipover5 · 20/06/2024 18:21

In a large canvas reusable bag on a hook under the stairs. Give them to a charity shop, they’re always grateful for bags.

Ihateslugs · 20/06/2024 18:22

Some in my car, some in my pull along shopping trolly and some in an old fabric bag in the under stairs cupboard! I have no intention of buying any more ( the majority are from Covid days when online grocery orders from Tesco came in these bags) as I have enough for the rest of my life! I also have about 8 larger bags for life which are useful as holdalls for outings, carrying food to picnics, storing on going craft projects etc.

Now, if you want to know how many canvas bags I have accumulated through gifts or with promotional freebies in - I’m not saying except that they are hanging on several door handles and inside drawers!

IBegYourBiggestPardon · 20/06/2024 18:24

In the storage cupboard in the living room. I really should keep some in the car rather trying to juggle handfuls of shopping out of the car

Topseyt123 · 20/06/2024 18:26

I fold them all into one large reusable bag and store them out in my car boot once I have emptied them after each shopping trip.

That way I can't forget them when I next visit the supermarket.

Heyhoitsme · 20/06/2024 18:54

In the car but sometimes give them to a charity shop when I've too many.

KnottyKnitting · 20/06/2024 18:58

Mostly in the garage( which is accessible from the house) A few in my shoe/ coat cupboard.

I have a few foldable pack up bags which I keep in my handbag which are very handy.

TWO kitchen drawers??

Complete amateur. Come back when you cant actually put your feet in the car at the back because its knee high in shopping bags.

WhyamInotvomiting · 20/06/2024 19:13

We have one of those absolutely mahooosive ones from Matalan. They all go in there and the Matalan one hangs from a hook on the back of the back door in the kitchen.

PurpleCarpets · 20/06/2024 19:24

My darling husband does some sort of origami that reduces each of them to a little flat triangle with the handles tucked in, then loads of them fit in a small box under the sink.

Is it too late to inform you all we’re a car-free household? 😂

I love people who can do this my mum does it I think it must be therapeutic, I end up with a knot of a bag !

YourWinter · 20/06/2024 19:42

I fold them as soon as they’re emptied and leave them beside my car keys, to go back in the car. There the bags used most often live in a jute bag in the footwell, those used less often are folded in another jute bag in the boot. I only keep a few in the house in case I need any as strong refuse bags (eg broken glass wrapped in newspaper, or spilt oil).
