Where do you store reusable carrier bags?

We have far too many carrier bags and I don’t know where to store them. They take up two kitchen drawers.

Where do you store yours?

I think in Argos you can still buy a carrier bag store than you can fit inside a cupboard door

My darling husband does some sort of origami that reduces each of them to a little flat triangle with the handles tucked in, then loads of them fit in a small box under the sink.

Google “samosa fold carrier bags”.

It takes less than 10 seconds to triangle fold a bag.

The boot of my car. They then live there forever and I continue to buy more...

Yes so good! I ended up with a cupboard full of bags. Had enough! Took them all to the living room, sat down to watch Sewing Bee and triangulated all the fuckers 😆!

They now fit in one shoe box and one reusable bag (organised by size and type). Hurrah!

That sounds like aggressive folding 😂

The airing cupboard but that's getting a wee bit crowded. Y'know - there are days when I open the cupboard door and brace myself for the anticipated avalanche.

In a carrier bag sausage bag.

Bags for life yet to find a proper home. I aspire to always have one in the car but always forget to put it back in the car again.

beckybarefoot · 20/06/2024 21:12

in the boot of the car...

WiseBiscuit · 20/06/2024 21:13

Car Boot. Quite frankly @NameChange101113 you may as well just buy a car for the purpose of bag storage …

Klampo · 21/06/2024 09:36

We have a hook on the back of the cupboard door under the stairs. Holds a bag full of bags, all triangled as PPs have described apart from those massive supermarket ones.

I just throw them in my boot.

Same. Ready for the next shop. I couldn’t have drawers full of them

Samosa folding and then stored in an old pair of footless tights that are hanging in a cupboard - it's a DIY bag dispenser. Bags into the top and out from the foot!

Update: Just done a big kitchen de-clutter. I’ve recycled broken carrier bags, and I have a pile of small bags that we don’t use ready to be taken to our local food back.

The bags we’ve kept manage to fit on the bottom shelf of our pantry, so I’m pleased with that. Culled a lot of old Tupperware too, which were missing lids etc.

Thanks for the tips, all!

Not to brag, but this is the finished result! Space has been left for the cat’s food delivery!
