Morning all

No time to do links etc as our power is due to go off at 8am and not come back on till about 3 or 4pm Needed to get my quick MN fix before then We have a tree surgeon coming to trim some trees at the back of our house which have grown into the elec cables.
Luckily I help at school on a Wednesday morning anyway so I can be out (and have cups of tea made for me) till mid-day and then I've saved the supermarket trip for this afternoon so I should be able to be out most of the day.

Hope you all have a good day, see you later

Sort some activities for the next two weeks (half term)
E-bay some grow bags
Ironing - if dry

Ludaloo · 02/04/2008 10:17

Morning all

I have woken up with a migraine

We are off to play at a friends this morning, then I have to go into town.

MadWW and Ruby.....thank you both
I wanted to do a PGCE in teaching, but I don't have a degree, just a HND. I already have a PGC but not in teaching...in Environmental and Developmental Education.
I had hoped that I could get on the PGCE for teaching, already having done a PGC course in a different subject (IYSWIM)because even though I didn't do a degree, I have shown that I am capable of studying to a PGC level....but the rules are obviously very ridgid for teaching, because without the degree its a no goer.
I really can't spend 3 years doing one either.
You can also do a Bachelor of Education degree (I think Dylsmum is doing this) to become a teacher....but again I can't spend the 3 years to do that either.

Half the rows I have been having with DH are about money...he has made it quite clear I need to start contributing!!! (I thought the fact I stayed at home and raised his kids, and kept his house in order WAS contributing, evidently not ....but that's another rant entirely, sorry!)

So I will just have to try and find something else...hopefully with the qualifications I do have.

Right I had better go, kids are argueing over umberella's and I have to be at friends house for 10.30am

Catch you all later

dylsmum1998 · 02/04/2008 10:20

morning
i'm doing well again today
have done:
wash up
hoover
dust
bathroom
made beds
made lunches
ds to school
dd to childminders
sorted washing

need to do:
ironing ( not too bad only a handful of things to iron take few mins)
wash kitchen floor, did it last night but its sticky again
declutter the two toy shelves behing the living room door
mission- shouldnt take too long no porch in a flat so just need to wash down front door
also need to write at least half of one of my bloody assignments so going to go get started and stop distracting myself on here, not read through all posts
TMH enjoy the farm weather looks quite good from here
babyjj hope your back feels better
madwelsh rather you than me in the cupboard!

everyone else enjoy your days - i'll ba back later at some point

Madwelshwoman · 02/04/2008 10:27

Luda

Is is school teaching you are interested in as you can do a Cert Ed with a HND which would give you a qualification to teach in the post 16 sector?

Sorry to hear about DH men can be so bloody insensitive.

I'm still avoiding my spider cupboard

JingleyJen · 02/04/2008 11:11

Morning all, sounds like you are all being very productive..
Have done
2 loads of washing
2 loads of ironing
Half cleaned the kitchen
made the beds
SS the bathrooms

Going out for the afternoon to friends house so
need to finish the kitchen before we go.

Madwelshwoman · 02/04/2008 11:49

Yay plasterers have just been and are starting work on my hall and stairs on Monday (needs total replastering) so I can finally get around to redecorating it!! Plus rip up skanky lino tiles and paint the terracotta (I think) floor beneath instead!

Yippee

sagacious · 02/04/2008 12:18

AFTERNOON ALL luda hope the migraine eases

Well I have :

dylsmum1998 · 02/04/2008 12:44

luda sorry missed your post this mroning must have crossed.
hope your migraine has eased, sorry you didnt get on the course you wanted. sorry i don't have any wise wisdom to help you get on a course you want. just lots of sympathy. its horrid when you can't do something you really want to.

have just sat and sorted the photos and my notes i made in London, whilst doing it remembered there is a little museum down road from me that might help, had a wander down and got some omore photos and notes whilst there, and a chat with the nice man who works there, think he wondere what the loon walking round museum takin pics wanted .
anyway off to find directions to toddler group cm is at with dd so i can collect her- catch you later

scattyspice · 02/04/2008 12:56

Hi All.
luda tell your dh that unless you can find a job that will pay enough for child care and after school care and holiday care then its not that simple!

I'm feeling groggy today (have another cold). Had a bad day yesterday the joiner put the wrong wood on the window sills and has to do it all again (looking less likely that it'll be finished by the holidays). I took DS to the school disco, but he got really upset as he didn't want me to leave him but he didn't want to come home either (I had DD with me so couldn't stay). Sometimes I think he is getting more clingy not less!

Hey ho, on we go!

Hello all

Haven't read thread yet, but will.

Dh took Ds2 to MIL and FIl's this morning so I took Ds1 and DD to school, went to Asda, home for breakfast and then cracked on with housework.

Done

Tided 4 bedrooms.
Cleaned 2 bathrooms.
Hoovered all upstairs.
Cleaned 2 mirrors.
Put away DS1 and 2's clothes.
Put away my clothes.
Hoovered stairs and all of downstairs.
Done all washing.
Washed up one lot of pots. (Dishwasher broken, thread on this topic looking for tips.)
Cleaned out 3 hamsters.
Put all jigsaw pieces back in their places.
Moved all toys upstairs.
Emptied bins.
Cleaned downstairs loo.
Given cat biscuits in her ball.
Dusted piano.
Having lunch now.

It is amazing what you can get down with no kids and a tiny amount of MN!

Have 45 minutes before I have to do the school run and have a bit more to do but I may leave it for tomorrow.

Janni · 02/04/2008 14:13

Hello all

DD (3) settling into nursery, was screaming as I left this afternoon . Did the same yesterday, but settled quickly, so I have to be tough and do it. It's hard!

Had a frantic morning getting sons packed and ready to go away with their dad. Am looking forward to a few days of just me and DD. Intend to get on top of everything rather than letting it all get on top of me

Luda - sounds like you're having a very tough time. Would you consider early years work? I think you could start with a lower level qualification and get promoted fairly quickly if you were good at it (which I'm sure you would be )

Janni · 02/04/2008 14:14

To do: (temporarily forgot I have to go and DO something now

  1. dishwasher 2)tidy kitchen surfaces 3)wash kitchen floor
dylsmum1998 · 02/04/2008 14:49

janni its hard leaving them when they are crying isnt it. but as you say they settle quick enough

3nab wow you've been busy

ruby hello

since last post i have collected dd, couldnt find map book but lucky cm insrtuctions were very good got straight there- first for me i get lost in a duvet cover! came home dd fell asleep in car so she's snoozing on my bed now, i have prepared dinner, washed the front door inside and out, to the amusement of the neighbours and decided i may as well do all the other doors in the flart while i was at it.
then tidied the shelves of toy behind the kitchen door, soritng everything into the right boxes as i went.
now i have to go collect Ds - and stop avoided my assignement, but i really don't wanna do it, don't know where to start with this one. suppose if i just sit down I'll work something out

Janni · 02/04/2008 15:49

lol @ getting lost in a duvet cover

Got to pick up DD - 2 hours goes far too quickly!!

Then: Shopping, dinner, DDs physio, bath and story. Tidy living room.

BiancaCastafiore · 02/04/2008 15:55

Hello again

Trees have been cut by a dishy tree surgeon and the electricity is back on - hooray!
I did the supermarket shop first thing then my session reading at school
Found the last 2 hours with no power very tough - I hadn't realised how much I like noise around me. I always have the radio/tv on usually so the quiet was weird! Still, I sorte dthe laundry and gave the fridge the biggest clean of its life before putting the groceries away

Dd needs collecting form her language lesson before having tea and going to Rainbows so I'd better get on - back later

Oh, and Luda sorry you're low. The teaching stuff sounds really annoying...so does your dh tbh! Hope to catch up soon so we can moan together

Got to go or dd'll think she's been forgotten!
