Morning all

No time to do links etc as our power is due to go off at 8am and not come back on till about 3 or 4pm Needed to get my quick MN fix before then We have a tree surgeon coming to trim some trees at the back of our house which have grown into the elec cables.
Luckily I help at school on a Wednesday morning anyway so I can be out (and have cups of tea made for me) till mid-day and then I've saved the supermarket trip for this afternoon so I should be able to be out most of the day.

Hope you all have a good day, see you later

Hi all,

Just a quicky as supper is bubbling away...
Thank you to you all It is lovely to come home and read your replies to me
I have been to see a careers advisor...have an appointment next week to go for a chat.

I really wanted to work in early years/primary rather than secondary....teenagers scare me! I know I can do NVQ's to work in nursery/classroom assistant type jobs, I'm just not sure whether I have the time to do longer courses/qualifications. I also have niggling away, that I should use the qualifications I already have.
I just have no idea what else I want/can do.
Hopefully the careers person can help.

As for DH...well he is well aware that I couldn't practically go back to work now until DD2 is safely off to school...but it doesn't stop him being a git we have had the arguement of money for a long long time(i.e he earns it and therefore he feels he can do what he likes with it...where as I get it in the neck for going to feed my friends pets who lives 3 miles away...."you're going to go and find the petrol money for that then are you?" was his response!)....
Its always been the same....and TBH when I yell at him...Fine I'll get a job, and you look after the kids....well you know what his response to that is....6 years later and I'm still looking after the kids!
I can't win!

Anyway...better get on....

Catch you all later

Afternoon

Mines a quickie whilst I pop the Dinner in the oven, boys were playing outside at a friends and the time just slipped away , so its fish and smiles with carrots for dinner

Luda I think your DH needs to actually try and spend some time alone the the DC's, he will then realise like mine that he has the easier option. He comes home to a cooked meal, pretty clean house and two well looked after children. He knows that if I worked I would expect the same of him - he he he

I would be interested in early years type of work too - I do not have any relevant qualications, but an NVQ in accountany and my O'levels. I like the idea of term time work and none of the extras that teachers have to do. I know loads of teachers who even part time means extra work at home even in primary

Jani DS started preschool (nursery) two weeks ago - it is hard to see them grow up

Dyls get that assignment done

Bianca Wow dishy was it a diet coke moment?

dylsmum1998 · 02/04/2008 17:10

luda hope the careers people can help you sort something out

Hello ALL and welcome to all Newbies (it's good here)

Just got back home, haven't had time to catch up on the thread yet but TMH I'll mail again.

Been out all afternoon with Ed and also lived a childhood dream. We went to an ice-cream parlour for a late lunch and a play in the grounds. He loved it, made friends with a Jersey calf and had a huge knickerbockerglory. I had fudge ice cream and coffee ice cream. It was worth the trip. I always wanted to go to an ice cream parlour where they have trays of different flavours and colours and that American chrome everywhere. We will be going again. I might take DH for his birthday in July.

I did the FLYing this morning and

Made beds
Made breakfast
Fill bird feeder (had a visit from a great tit this morning which was sweet)
Washed
Load WM
Load DW and run
Empty DW
Refill bird feeder
Keep an eye on the chicken stock for DH

Ed won't be wanting any tea tonight I don't think. I'd also like to think he's had a jolly good end of term holiday (so far)

Hi again - TMH - DD enjoyed nursery after her initial wailing. I am DELIGHTED she is going, I really need some space , and they are lovely there.

Luda - I feel really sorry for you, because you obviously put so much into caring for your home and your children and to then feel so unappreciated must be awful

I'm on my own with DD now for a while as DH as the DSs have gone away, so I COULD, theoretically, get a lot done, other than spending all my time on MN .

I will now:
1)empyy dishwasher 2)put laundry away

Evening all.
Wanted to pop in and say a big thank you to Bianca Jas FGS and Luda for the lovely top you all chipped in to buy me for my birthday. It is really nice and Bianca says it looks good too. I will be looking good on my evening out.

Thanks to EHM too. Card arrived this morn. Put it on the shelf to open Sunday.

Janni · 02/04/2008 21:06

Belated 'Happy Birthday' to Tort.

The flat is so quiet with just me and DD (asleep). Thank God for MN!

Next jobs: tidy bathrooms and hallway

tortoise · 02/04/2008 21:34

Janni My Birthday isn't until Sunday.

I have banked my walkers brit trop points and have enough to get 50% off a 4 night midweek Haven holiday! So i have been looking up prices. Has to be taken term time which is a bit of a pain but im sure it will be ok! Will cost just under £200 for 4 nights so not too bad.

Janni · 02/04/2008 21:41

Sorry tort [shame], am only just back on this thread so am not up to date. Happy Birthday for Sunday though!!

We had a nice Haven caravan holiday in Devon last year. Where are you thinking of?

Might have a go at DS1s bedroom as he's not here...or might just go to bed...

tortoise · 02/04/2008 21:46

Thinking of Devon Cliffs this time. Went to two in Weymouth last year.
My lot really love going.

Janni · 02/04/2008 21:54

Yes, Devon Cliffs, that's where we went. Really beautiful seaside and the site was good - good entertainment etc

tortoise · 02/04/2008 22:00

Sounds perfect and not too hard to get to by train from here.
