Mission

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 24/03/2008 08:17

Hi Ladies, sorry if I have confused, I see everyone has posted on the weekend thread, but I thought as there was a mission for today, I'd start a new thread, then there wouldn't be pages and pages of posts too.

I'm just going to check who is up and about this morning...

BiancaCastafiore · 24/03/2008 08:18

Good luck with the soup...I don't think I have ever made a soup!

Jas I'm in a FLY mood today too.
My diet has been slipping as well for the last couple of weeks...so I'm getting that back on track today too.

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 24/03/2008 08:28

Morning luda and trinity bianca i don't tend to measure anything when i make soup but generally what i do is
lightly fry the veg just for a few mins then cover with stock. i put just enough stock to cover the veg, simmer until all are soft. then blend. is bouillon powder like oxo cubes? if so then thats what i use so would have thought will be fine. then serve with yummy fresh rolls i love with crusty rolls.

I've never put pasta in soup but know some people do. ( the tomato sauce i make to pour over pasta is essentially tom soup. so on this principle would imagine is ok) could you cook some pasta to add before everyone arrives and try this in a little soup first to see what you think?

dylsmum1998 · 24/03/2008 08:29

luda lol loved danger mouse when i was little

TrinityTheProgressingRhino · 24/03/2008 08:33

'Penfold shush'

DontDreamItBeIt · 24/03/2008 08:36

Morning (again!)

Bianca - I'm like Dylsmum - I don't measure. I just tend to make it to use up left over veg. I'd guess about 1/2 pin liquid per person though. I blend everyhing, too so if you want to add pasta (I wouldn't bu that is just t because I prefer it without) I'd cook it seperately , or not blend it at all and risk kids picking bits out of it.

Hello, Trinity, Luda and everyone else still to come.

Morning All Bianca Ed is a terrible loser and an awful cheat at board games too. He never counts the spaces properly etc etc (Just like my brother) I just tell him I'm going to stop playing and that works for...ooooo...about 3 mins

Very broken night's sleep last night. I was asleep before 8 (lightweight!) and woke up at 2 unable to get back off (too much rich tea) so I decamped to the front room and watched 2.5 hrs of River Cottage. (works for me, a bit of unexpected Hugh FW)

Ed came and woke me up. I've been potterring and

DONE

Make his bed
Draw curtains
Make our bed
Draw curtains
Rub down polyfiller on his windowframe
Wipe it down
Touch up the paint
Clean brush
Do huge basket of ironing
Tidy away

I must get Ed to do some schoolwork

Hope the chocolate hasn't got you

Bewilderbeast · 24/03/2008 11:22

morning all

very busy morning chez bewilder, I have been up since the crack of hell.

done

kitchen surfaces
kitchen floor swept
high chair deep cleaned
living room detailed dust and vac
rubbish out
wm unloaded, reloaded and on
washing hung on airer
dry washing folded

I was just going to give ds his breakfast when I fetched the milk in opened the fridge and discovered that something on the top shelf had leaked all over the entire fridge.

binned all contaminated food
cleaned entire fridge
cleaned all food containers and put what was rescuable back in the fridge - it is now practically empty which is not good as we have about £3 left for the weeks shopping Grrrr. Some creative veg box and pasta recipes for the week ahead to be thought of!
kitchen surfaces cleaned again, kitchen floor wiped

I am just having my first cuppa and sit down of the day.

Bewilderbeast · 24/03/2008 11:49

It's snowing again

BiancaCastafiore · 24/03/2008 12:13

Just raining here now bewilder of your snow...

Well, I am amazed and that I've never made soup before - how easy and yummy! The whole house smells great ds says he won't eat it but dd tried some and I over-heard her telling ds that it was "extremely tasty" I didn't blend it in the end, I just mashed it a bit with my potato masher.
PiL due in next 30 mins so it can simmer away till they arrive.

Washing is in the wm, downstairs has been hoovered, bathrooms are s&s-ed, spare room is pretty much presentable so that's my FLYing done for now

~Tidied
~Loaded and run D/W
~Put bins out
~Fed kids
~Hung a load of washing to dry

He must be sickening for something

[EXTREMELY GRATEFUL EMOTICON]

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 24/03/2008 14:01

~Replaced the toilet rolls!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 24/03/2008 15:07

Its quiet here today.

I have done the mission, and am just going to make a nice pasta bolognese for supper.

I have come to the decision my DD2 is MAD!
She has just come up to me to ask if I can take the stalk off her apple....and she is wearing one boot, a pair of sunglasses and she pulled a face that would condemn most adults to the looney bin! Off she pottered talking to herself!
