Best place to buy big clear boxes with lids

Sorry in advance for such a boring post!!

I am having a January sort out and looking for large plastic boxes. Does anyone know the best place to buy them?

Ikea ones are good but it's a bit of a pain for me to drive there.

I had a very disappointing experience with eBay.

I know they sometimes sell them in Tesco but last time I went they weren't selling any.

The Range I've found are the cheapest? Is that still the case?

Do you have a b&m or home bargains local? Ours is full of them since the Christmas item clear out

Camarthen67912 · 11/01/2024 16:43

Oooh thank you! Yes we do - I will make a trip tomorrow

Ikea does a great range of boxes.

OwlBasket · 11/01/2024 16:50

Try second hand sites, loads of people will be doing the same as you. There are bound to be plenty getting rid of boxes. Save you a fortune

Falkenburg · 11/01/2024 16:52

One Below sell them at half the price of Argos and Hobbycraft .

fairydust11 · 11/01/2024 16:55

Dunelm mill, I’ve got loads from there over the years, although i’m not sure how the prices compare to elsewhere.

whatsappdoc · 11/01/2024 17:05

Local Facebook selling pages. Always someone getting rid of a few.

northernstars · 11/01/2024 17:05

Homebase had a promotion on them last week when I was in.

Nonplusultra · 11/01/2024 17:08

Ikea ones last for years without getting brittle. It’s a hassle for me to get to too, but it can be a false economy (of time) buying other ones.

bendypines · 11/01/2024 17:11

Agree with others, BM and Homebase currently have thousands of the things in stock.

Add The Range to the list, that's where I got mine.

Ariela · 11/01/2024 17:24

Asda ones are sturdier than Aldi.

28bubble · 11/01/2024 17:28

Look for 'Really Useful Box' brand. They are the sturdiest of all. Should last for years and years. ASDA were doing them and Robert Dyas and Hobbycraft I think. They are the only brand I'll buy now.

HappilyContentTheseDays · 11/01/2024 17:33

I'm another one who recommends Dunelm Mill - really good storage section, every size box/lids etc and reasonable prices. They currently have a sale and storage boxes are at very low cost indeed, but stuff is selling fast (I bought a load of them a couple of days ago, went back and hardly any left).

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 11/01/2024 17:34

I just bought some more Really Useful Boxes today from Viking online - on sale so cheaper than Robert Dyas or Asda and free delivery! I've had so many cheaper boxes but they just don't last so I decided to splash out and add to my RUB collection which seem to last forever!

Another vote for Really Useful Boxes. Very sturdy and a huge range of sizes. Not yhe cheapest but I've tended to buy when their on offer somewhere. I think Hobbycraft and Homebase both still stock them.

Mumaway · 11/01/2024 17:44

'Really Useful' brand boxes, often on offer from Staples and Amazon. Multiple sizes, stackable.

shellyleppard · 11/01/2024 17:46

I've had Ikea boxes for years.....and they deliver. Failing that try home bargains or b and m

newyearnewnothing · 11/01/2024 18:02

The Range

GreatGateauxsby · 11/01/2024 18:04

Wham ones at Dunelm they are good quality and an obscene range in sizes.

Almost all are in the sale.

Nitgel · 11/01/2024 18:07

I use thesehttps://www.argos.co.uk/product/9484593

Nitgel · 11/01/2024 18:08

Stackable but not giant.

Ellie6489 · 11/01/2024 18:10

The ones I got from Tesco last summer were the best ever. They've gone through hell from being packed and unpacked and stacked over and over while we were on holiday in our camper van. Not one crack.

I tried to look for more but like you I couldn't find them anywhere :(

Cadno31 · 11/01/2024 18:11

I had some from B&Q yesterday. They had loads of different sizes too.

Lifeintheoldclogsyet · 11/01/2024 21:46

Wham range is good and asda have some deals on at the moment
