Purdy & Figg

What am I missing here about Purdy & Figg? I subscribed and got my starter kits and like the scents but the spray bottles are tiny, I’ll get through one a week easily but they’re supposed to last a month at a time. The spray itself is great for wiping already clean surfaces but I wouldn’t want to use the cloths on actual dirty kitchen worktops etc. I just don’t get how it’s supposed to work as the only cleaner you need for the whole house. I have now cancelled my subscription and will buy method refills which are equally nice smelling and more affordable too.

the last Christmas ones were better - I do like P&F particularly the counter sprays, I’ve been a customer for oooh several years now. That said, the M&S cleaning range is good too.

Have you tried Ocean drops? Plastic free, cheap to subscribe to and smell nice

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 08/12/2024 08:52

Doh

Ocean Saver, rather Grin

Viviennemary · 08/12/2024 08:56

I was tempted but decided it was a con. Buy a microscopic very expensive bottle of cleaner and your immaculate house will gleam and smell heavenly with no effort from you. If only. Nice try though.

The fact that every time I go on any social media I'm being spammed with adverts for this brand is enough to discourage me from testing it. They're trying too hard.

andHelenknowsimmiserablenow · 08/12/2024 09:11

I originally cancelled my subscription because the smell didn't last long enough, and it smeared on glass. I made my own with essential oils but it was a poor substitute.
I succumbed to a new subscription including the ooh de loo which is good.
So now have a bottle and cloth in nearly every room. I must admit it does make things easier, and I like the way the bathroom spray cleans enamel.

notnorman · 08/12/2024 09:13

I loved it for polishing up already clean surfaces etc.

Then I dropped the glass bottle on my kitchen floor.

And that was the end of that.

I can't stand the smells. They smell like cheap perfume rather than 'clean' to me. Threw mine in the bin and cancelled my subscription.

My starter pack came today. I am very lazy and hoped the "fabulous" might motivate me.
Sadly the ones I got are disgusting. The Christmas scent is nothing if the sort- identical to one of the regular ones. The Citrus one actually smells like wee.

After postage it's not worth sending them back really but I'm going to. Very disappointing.

Bet your kitchen smelled nice though!

Came to MN to get the low down as the ads look tempting - good old MN! 😂

FWIW my game-changing money-saving cleaning tip is to keep a spray bottle of diluted washing up liquid beside the actual washing up liquid on the sink.

It's brilliant if you don't want to run a bowl of water to wash something - just spray the item, wipe and rinse.

Good for floors and all kitchen surfaces - pretty much all surfaces really.

An empty Astonish spray (with plastic brand wrapping removed to expose plain white bottle) is a fairly attractive and tough container for this - mine has lasted years.

Purdy & Figg simply make unrealistic promises with their product. When I pointed this out on Trustpilot they reported me for defamation. TP decided this was unfounded. Says everything I need to know about them.

Loafbeginsat60 · 09/02/2025 18:20

I dilute zoflora into my bottles now and change the cloth every day

Aliceisagooddog · 09/02/2025 18:27

If only they put as much work into the products as they do the advertising!!

AndThereSheGoes · 09/02/2025 21:48

Just checked ....they never refunded me.

Their "problem with returns" page just says have your proof of postage and we'll refund. That's it. No checking there end. Lost my proof as it's so long ago.

Not impressed with any part of their products or company.

Everything0Everywhere · 09/02/2025 21:54

So glad this thread popped up, I was thinking about trying the starter pack. I usually use Zoflora but will give Method a go.

Isking · 09/02/2025 22:50

Not worth the £15 "special offer". I'd be even more unhappy if I'd paid full price. Reported me to TP for a defamatory review when I was simply honest, thankfully TP saw sense.

Excited101 · 09/02/2025 22:57

@melissasummerfield it’s MUCH better to not use antibacterial products in the home, they’ve been proven to not offer any better cleaning than regular cleaning soap in the home and just odd to overall resistance. I won’t have them unless there’s no choice. Soap will clean away all that it needs to.

Granny69 · 31/03/2025 21:09

I'm so pleased I came across this page. Like a few others, I was on the brink of ordering because of constant ads. I'm now going to stick to my usual - zoflora - fairy liquid and cif !

Viviennemary · 31/03/2025 21:13

It's all hype and clever marketing. I nearly fell for it but didn't in the end. Their profit margins must be huge.

aliceinawonderland · 31/03/2025 21:15

I really love them, but then I’m a bit phobic about cleaning sprays.
I use the bathroom one to give a quick wipe down and also use them on laminate floors.
And adore Oh de Loo

Electio7899 · 01/04/2025 12:58

Yeah I’m still a fan too, my only gripe is I wish Christmas oh de loo was available longer…must be a couple of years now!

Crazyladee · 01/04/2025 13:08

Neat products are so much better. And cheaper too

Obeseandashamed · 01/04/2025 14:38

I have just cancelled my subscription as I don’t think the scents last very long nor does the product. I use a bottle per week
