Hello, just calling in briefly (mostly because I have slopped off to escape the kids for a few minutes)

Good to see Gibberish was about yesterday, hello
EHM half-way already Lots of good wishes from us (as always x x )
Luda hope you feel better x
TMH intertesting thoughts re your op, isn't it amazing what they can do?
FGS gla dthe party went well
Numberone hello! Hope all is good with you?

I worked all day yesterday so didn't do anything exciting at all. Ds played with a friend and dd had some time with dh to herself
We've had a lazy morning today. Went to Sunday Club instead of swimming (ds has a heavy cold) so it was fun to catch up with people there We've just finished lunch (all except ds who complained about everything on his plate and left the table so will have to go hungry for a while )

I'm another who hopes the love dh and I have for books will be handed on to our dcs. Both love books so far and read to themselves in bed after we've had story time so it's looking promising (well, ds can't read yet but he flicks through the pages ) Actually, ds got his High Frequency words certificate from school on Friday [proud] A great achievment from the youngest child in the class who the teacher said wouldn't learn them before he was 5 (he's 4.7)

Dh and I are still on an up after last weekends chat There's a bit of ott appreciation going on which feels a bit odd but at least we're trying to show we recognise what each other bring to the family, hopefully it'll be more natural as time goes on.

Well, I'd better go and see to everyone. Dh is washing the car then we might have a walk/bike ride if it stays dry

TheMadHouse · 09/03/2008 17:16

Evening all

We have been for a run out and dont a little bit of shopping (nappies and some treats for the mini's).

we have also battened down the hatches for the wind. Locked and bolted the gate, brought the wirlygig in etc

Dinner is in the oven and the dryer is on.
Boys clothes are sorted for tomorrow
Car is washed
Furballs cleaned up - cooking fat

Ruby Newcastle is an hour 15 in good traffic, so yes doable and yes you get a Tummy Tuck at the same time, but I might not be eligable due to my sections. 12 Hour op and 3 months recovery, but removal and reconstruction at the same time and then I would have my nipples tatood on at a later date - quite interesting really. DH is up for that one as he thinks that it would be better for me in the long run, only things is they would droop eventually just like real uns

TheMadHouse · 09/03/2008 17:17

Babyj we inflate our stuff and then use a large beach towel to dry

babyjjbaby · 09/03/2008 17:41

thats what i did in the end just need to fold it up now

babyjjbaby · 09/03/2008 18:29

i've sorted the dry washing out and tideid up a bit might do teh small pile of ironing

RubyAndgoNumberOneFan · 09/03/2008 19:42

Hello to all.

EHM Vibes coming your way from me!

Ruby You still have a fan! I haven't changed my name as I haven't thought of an alternative and I've managed to remember this one and signing in is now easy.

My glands are right up on my neck and I think that's why I'm feeling a bit miserable today. I'm also finding that having an au pair who is here so much of the time, hardly going out at all (so much for loving the outdoors and wanting to do an outdoorsy degree/diploma when she goes home) and who doesn't do a thing at w/es is getting me down. I tried to explain it to dh and I think he understood some of it but doesn't realise the impact of having someone here all day every day even on my days off. I think I'll have to ask her about this second part-time job she said she'd get. It might help to stop her moaning about being bored for one thing and would get her out of the house! Oh, ignore me, I'm just feeling a bit cheesed off. Right. I'm going to go and do some ironing. See you later in the week!

BiancaCastafiore · 09/03/2008 19:58

Hi Numberone, I can see how the au pair situation must be getting you donw - I'd find that really hard too. Hope you find a solution x

We weighed the kids at bedtime and have discovered that ds weighs almost exactly the same amount as the weight I've lost over the past few months Can't believe that this time last year I was carrying all that extra weight around!

We went on a bike ride then made a big bowl of popcorn and snuggled up to watch Star Wars (Empire Strikes Back - young Harrison Ford [swoon])

I'm thinking I may have to take a day off work tomorrow as ds has this really nasty cough. He's well in himself but is exhausted by the coughing poor chap. I'll play it by ear in the morning.

tortoise · 09/03/2008 20:04

Evening all.
I didn't get on here yesterday. And DD1 one was sick last night. I have had about 3 hrs sleep! She is keeping drink down and had 2 rich tea biscuits. Will keep her home tomorrow.

DS1 is off on his school camp tomorrow. He will be away until Fridayhere. Doesn't show the site unfortunatly. he seems to be looking forward to it and is all packed. I just need to do him a lunch to take with him.

Fingers cross DD1 hasn't got anyhing catching. Don't want him to get ill while away.

TheMadHouse · 09/03/2008 20:38

Tort I do hope that she picks up and the he enjoys camp.
Bianca well done you. DS1 is still not well, so I am hoping that he can sleep a bit more than lastnight with his cough.
No1 I do not envy you re the au-pair. It would drive me mad. I do like my own company and someone always around, would drive me out

Well FLY Wise

I have ironed
Put away mine and DH's (boys to do tomorrow)
WM on
TD loaded and ready to run
Swept downstairs

To Do

Sort all the parts for boleagnese for the slow cooker in the morning
Get my clothes out

Catch you all tomorrow

tortoise · 09/03/2008 20:43

Thanks TMH.

cathshuck · 09/03/2008 20:54

Hi am a newbie! Can anyone tell me what I need to be doing tomorrow am? X

TheMadHouse · 09/03/2008 21:01

Right you need to start with the babysteps

My Basic morning routine is:

Get up and dressed
S&S ensuite (quick clean when used it)
Make bed
Get boys dressed (Clothes out night before)
Make their beds (pull over duvets)
Emply Dishwasher
Empty washer and pop in dryer or line
Load washer
Make breakfast
Feed all
Clean Dinning table/highchairs
Wash breakfast pots
Sort out whats for lunch

It sounds a lot but only takes minutes really

DontDreamItBeIt · 09/03/2008 23:09

TMH has it covered cath My morning routine is shorter but covers the same stuff.

tortoise - I hope ds enjoys the holiday. The dds go to Francewith the school in yr 6. I'm no lookingforward to it tbh
I hope dd is better in the morning.

No1 I can understand the need for your own space. It is bad enoughhere when dp isn't working and at home all the time, and I chose to live wih him!

Ruby - I think we count as a clique This is the closest I'm going to get to being one anyway!

I tried really hard (and failed) ot to take out my pmt on dp today. Lots of tears and tantrums.
But I go loads of cleaning done, as did he, and both cars are no longer a health hazard after some intensive care this afternoon.

See you all i the morning
