I suspect I may be at the more slatternly end of the scale.

Name changing permitted for Dirty Gerties.

Every 2 weeks-ish

Whizzz · 06/03/2008 19:29

AdamAnt - I think you should unplug the jukebox and do yourself a favour...

bellavita · 06/03/2008 19:30

Every week for mine and DH's, every 10 days or so for DS's.

Minkus · 06/03/2008 19:35

If I really posted the truth I would get ex-communicated from the Good Housekeeping thread

Lulumama · 06/03/2008 19:35

beansmum · 06/03/2008 19:36

Once a week unless we've been very hot and sweaty in bed

bozza · 06/03/2008 19:50

Once a fortnight. Alternate ours and the DC (ie theirs go in together).

shrinkingsagpuss · 06/03/2008 19:51

I'm not even going to say... put it this way, DH said the other day, hmmm my pillow case is a bit grubby..... def not top of the list of good house wives... personally I think we should have a thread for compeititive housekeeping..... my Mum said to me the other day "well, of course, I was just soooo organised", in respone to my anguish that DH had complained AGAIN about a lack of ireoned shirt for work the next day (I spent the day remving an inch of builders dust from the stairs)

DualCycloneCod · 06/03/2008 19:52

every friday

Bluestocking · 06/03/2008 19:52

Ugh, you slatterns. Every three/four days for me and DH, once a week for DS, no excuses, no exceptions.

shrinkingsagpuss · 06/03/2008 19:54

3 / 4 days ???!!!!!!! I dont have enough spare covers to do thaht, it takes a week for me to iron the damn stuff! I don't think we're THAT grubby... (checks feet and underarms)

scanner · 06/03/2008 19:54

After sex.

SenoraPostrophe · 06/03/2008 19:55

when they look grey.

NomDePlume · 06/03/2008 19:57

Master bed - Once a week, generally on a Friday as that is my day off work.

Kids beds (3 x doubles) - fortnightly

Spare bed (another double) - Overnight guests get clean sheets when they stay (obviously). So I tend to wash them the Friday before we are expecting guests.

SenoraPostrophe · 06/03/2008 19:57

we've had this question before btw. best answers were:

  1. after sex, so at least twice a year
  2. the good thing about sheets is you can just turn then over and you get twice the wear out of thyem before they need washing. like pants.

Can't remember who posted them. it'd be great if someone could beat those.

Milliways · 06/03/2008 19:57

You iron your sheets shrinkingsagpuss??

Just hang them on line & fold them - no need to iron (although I will do Pillowcases if reqd).

Thomcat · 06/03/2008 19:58

When i think 'when did I last change our sheets?'!

Probably about every 2 weeks.

Bluebutterfly · 06/03/2008 19:58

Once a week for all the family. IMO doing it more than that suggests you are either suffering from a serious personal hygiene problem, or you are a wee bit anally retentive .

Quattrocento · 06/03/2008 19:58

Weekly

NomDePlume · 06/03/2008 19:59

SP, we've had it HUNDREDS of times before

Mamazon · 06/03/2008 20:00

probably once a fortnight or so, maybe 10 days if i am being very organised.

i am not a very good housekeeper though. you dont want to know the last time i pulled my fridge out to clean behind it
