Washing machine recommendations?

Can anyone please recommend their washing machine please ? Or possibly washer drier - I only use a drier for towels (v hard water area) so could get separate and put in the garage if it compromises the efficiency of a washing machine.

Family of 5+ a dog

I do a lot of washing, at least 2 a day. Today I've already done 6 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have a bed wetter, a toddler, various sports etc. I need a heavy duty washing machine which takes a large load. I'm not bothered by Wi-Fi or fancy programmes. I wash most things on 30 quick wash apart from dirty sports wear, bedding and towels. I use a timer so that's essential.

The last washing machine engineer suggested a commercial machine 😂

Can Anyone recommend theirs please ??

I have a Bosch which has lasted years and my DM is obsessed with Miele so hers lasted years and she's only just replaced it.

The Miele have nice basic functional settings and dials etc which she likes.

My washer dryer only last about 4 years so I wouldn't buy another one

We have a Meaco dehumidifier 12L bought after a leak in the roof which as it turns out is amazing at drying washing overnight as it sucks up so much water.

My LG is 15+ years and going strong 🤞

What I like about my machine is if I've forgotten to put in an item you can stop it at the beginning of the cycle and it will let you open the door and add it.

This is because the water level is always below the door in the drum so it will never spill out

Mines at the lower price end and an 8kg but they definitely do 10kg

Washer dryers are awful in my experience. Would never ever buy again.

Current washing machine is AEG. 9kg, can spin up to 1600 which really makes a difference, can feel they're much dryer coming out the wash. Very fast quick wash aswell. Expensive but very worth it.

I think I'm going to have to forget about the wash drier idea.

I currently have a Beko (came with the house, new build) but it can't cope with my demands !

I like the idea of being able to open midway through a wash! I hate it when I leave a sock out.

Will look at these brands, in my head I was thinking Bosch or Miele.

Thank you 🙏🏻

I’ve gone back to separate washing machine & dryer as none of the washer/dryer combined were very good, plus they never lasted that long.
I’ve now got a Bosch I bloody love it sensible programme’s everything comes out clean throughly recommend.

I just bought a Bosch which seems ok but I preferred my old AEG which lasted 8 years.

My old Zanussi lasted about 15yrs, so ask me why I bought a useless Hoover that lasted 4yrs ??? I'm thinking of Zanussi, AEG or LG this time round

Mindymomo · 22/09/2023 21:40

I’ve just got a Samsung washing machine, it takes 11 kgs and there’s 4 adults here, plus dog so I’m used to washing every day, maybe twice, but with this machine I do around 4 loads each week, only problem I have is my washing line isn’t long enough. It’s also only takes 65 minutes to do a normal wash and you can stop machine to put something in and it opens straightaway if you take the child lock off.

Annoyingly a lot of these washing machines are free standing and ideally I need integrated

Trying to decide on a new machine.
My current one spins at 1600 but most now seems to spin at 1400. How much difference will this make?

I don't have a tumble dryer so dry indoors on the maiden in the winter.

The machines that spin at higher speed are significantly more expensive.

Which washing machine did you get in the end please? I am looking into getting a new one. Want an anti-crease and shirt prorammes.
